We were moving our NYC office and had to discard a lot of paper so we hired Shred-It for a purge job. They dropped off 10 bins really fast in the beginning of course because Im sure they wanted to lock in their $. When it came time to pick up the bins to give up the space not only were they non-responsive but they were so disorganized. Their hold times are horrible and when you finally do get someone they are only taking a message to refer you to another representative! So if you want to pull your hair out and be majorly frustrated use SHRED-IT!

Truck was scheduled between 1& 4 got here at 4:05. Driver helpful. How you you make an appointment between 1& 4. As a business you hold up your client for 3 hours. Probably won’t use then again unless they tighten the schedule

The customer service rep who set up the contract was very nice on the phone and helpful in getting the job set up. The guy who came to do the job was super friendly, too. What bothers me is that when they send you the contract, there is a note that you may be subject to fees and that you have to go to a web site to find out how much they are. Turns out I owe more than 15% than the quoted price due to these fees (fuel and recycling) that werent disclosed in the phone calls it took to set up the job. Its one thing to negotiate a price, but to be hit with hidden fees (yes, when you put them on a web site and not in the contract, that is the definition of hidden), I feel scammed.

They are very much the professional when coming into our office building, they remember that we have a 1st and 2nd floor which has the containers, always very pleasant. When we had to call and add additional pick up there were no problems

We had a large order pickup and they did a wonderful job! Will definitely use again in the future.

Everything was explained in detail well before we scheduled our service, along with explanation of fees. A driver contacted us to set up the actual pickup and phoned again the morning of service. He arrived on time and had our items out of the way in no time. They made a task we were dreading much easier!

I don’t know where to begin, but let’s start at terrible. When they wanted the job, they responded in 3 minutes. To set up the job, was ok at best. When it came time to do the job, they sent one late 60 year old man, to shred 252 boxes. I couldn’t watch him do it alone and in the rain, so I do it w him. They did not shred the banker boxes that my documents were in and stated they would be back. 10 phone calls and 8 emails later, I needed to rent a dumpster. The bill just came and the price was double the estimate. STAY AWAY. STAY AWAY.Chris Hickson

Stericycle is a great place to work with great benefits. They put a lot of effort into making sure customers and their employees are happy.There are amazing opportunities to grow and learn here. If you want a career and not a job, this is the place. I like that upper management takes the time to get to know their employees and listens to any concerns and/or suggestions.

Have never dealt with a company that was so unorganized. I have consistently asked for a schedule to only been put through the loop and told that one would be sent to me. Tried contacting the District manager and had been stopped because he receives calls from sales people.One of their employees who picks up the shredding documents even told us to get another company because they keep hearing complaints from their customers. Very sad especially if their own employees are recommending clients to get another vendor.

I had a much smaller shredding job seven boxes 2 hard drives. Drove them over to the Secaucus location where they were friendly, prompt and professional. Unloaded the boxes into their receptacle handed them the drives. Super happy my documents are smashed to smithereens in no time flat.

I called Shredit to set up shredding services for our business, which is a multi-billion dollar corporation nation-wide. Upon my first call to set up shredding services, the customer service associate, who was centrally located in New Jersey, put me through to a voicemail. Since its normal working business hours, my expectation was to talk to someone to set up a time to shred my documents. I called back, and once again I was put through to a voicemail. I called back third time, and I asked to speak to a live agent who could set up a date to shred, I was told they are all either on the phone or busy. Shredit is a subsidiary of a large enough company that they should have higher expectations than this. This sort of customer is very poor and resulted in lost business for them. I immediately called a competitor and set up a time to shred my documents - an experience that was hassle free.

We actually never got to use them for shredding because after submitting the signed agreement via email, a week later we still couldnt get a date/time for the shredding to take place. We spoke to different people every day that we called and each one had a different excuse. We also never received calls back, even though we were promised calls on the status of the request at least 4 times. Finally, we gave up and took our business somewhere else.

Have now left one voicemail and sent three emails and no response i am going to look for another company
