Im a quadriplegic, I got sick had to go to the hospital for a few days, the night I went to the hospital, on my home security camera set up in my bedroom... I witnessed my former care provider rummaging through my personal things, tampering with my medications, everything was recorded, plus, pictures taken for proof. She also committed fraud to the state by claiming she was working for me while I was in the hospital, clocking in and out for a few days! All of this was reported to adult protective services, through the Home Care agency. They made a big deal about it in the beginning, claiming they were investigating, and told me the care provider could lose her license for that. In the end, they stop investigating, and continued letting the care provider work and never told me anything! When I kept calling and emailing APS numerous times to find out what was going on, I was told the case was closed! This is how they work in Washington State... If care providers want to steal from their clients, commit fraud against the state without no repercussions, Washington state is the place to do it!!

The person I spoke with clearly was not skilled at handling calls. I had to hang up on her. Tough times, people go crazy wearing masks all day.

The one in Mount Vernon was supposed to be called “Doctor protective Service”. The agent took a doctor’s false statement. With no effort to investigate, she simply treated you as a criminal. And finally she didn’t show any interest in protecting “the neglected adult” as she didn’t care for the fact and never went after the real “criminals”. I hope her understand what she was doing. She was not protecting anybody but harassing the family! What a waste of tax payer’s time and money!!

Reported to APS by a hospital for specious reasons. Agent was over an hour later than she said shed be at the first appointment (1hr and 20min) and my mother had a cancer appointment to get to - since we were given no way to contact the agent when she was on the road. Later when my mother gave the agent a courtesy call, the agent was bullying and abusive towards her - the supposed victim. On the second appointment she made, we spent four hours and ten+ minutes waiting for her on our front steps. We called and left several messages. She never showed. Left message asking her to call us to reschedule. Got nasty message in the mail ten days later that if my mother didnt do an interview they would make a finding without input. Then was abusive and bullying towards my mother again we she called in a panic, claimed she was at our door ten minutes before the appointment. We were on the doorstep at that time. Shes been to the apartment twice before so I find it specious that she simply went to the wrong address. She just lied and bullied some more.If this is the quality of their investigators I hope they ficking choke. Otherwise Im reporting the agent to DSHS Constituent Services and I encourage you to do the same if you have a similar experience.

In our case, APS allowed the abuser to secretly obtain a frivolous protective order against the abused seniors, causing grave prejudice and damage!
