I had my first session with Carolyn Powley and has pretty disappointed. She sent me the meeting invite 2 minutes before the session and I had trouble connecting with Zoom so we had the session over the phone. I found her to be unprofessional and had a matter of fact attitude. I didnt find her to be empathetic or compassionate at all. During the session it sounded like she was shuffling papers and half listening. I felt like she wanted me to lead the session. I had asked her why she thought my Mom wasnt able to connect with me and she said, Maybe you remind her of your father. Nothing she said made me feel better in any way. She promptly ended the appointment at 45 minutes, even thought we got started 10 minutes late due my connectivity issues. She sounded very surprised that I didnt want a second session. Its been a long time since I had seen a therapist and had very good experiences and was very surprised by her candor.

I found Carolyn after being hit by an emotional bus -- unexpected, incredibly painful. She helped me hold steady while I pieced my life back together. I recommend her to anyone in extremis -- dont suffer alone!

I truly thank God that I had Carolyn as a counselor in going through a heartbreaking sudden break up of my marriage and subsequent divorce. I was buried in grief and depression and just plain lost. She helped me sort through my feelings, was very insightful and open, and I cant thank her enough! She really CARES about each of her clients, and works very hard to help them. Amazing depression counseling, recommended !
