We used J&M for a bathroom remodel. Took the existing space down to studs, installed new custom cabinets, shower, tile, fixtures, etc. The project finished on-budget, and the workmanship was very good. We enjoyed working with everyone on the J&M team and wouldnt hesitate to use them again. The project did run a bit long, although a big part of that was covid-related supply chain issues. It was our first time doing a major remodel, and Justin and all his suppliers really helped us out with materials selection. We think it looks great and didnt use a designer. Overall a very good experience!

Great to work with. Were able to coordinate, pay invoices and ask questions Superintendent through email and text, which fits with our busy schedule. Worked with us on plan modifications and took initiative to do it right, when they found issues with our home not being originally done right.

J&M did a lovely job on our kitchen remodel. We had them tear it down to the studs, remove a wall, close up a doorway, and then put it all back together into a designer kitchen. They were also very accommodating to a major change in scope when we unexpectedly needed them to pull up all the flooring on the main floor, level it, and lay new hardwoods. The down payment was minor and they set a reasonable start date that they could commit to (even starting a few days early!) We appreciated the homeowner portal where we could review details of the work and cost of our project as we went along.J&M displayed a willingness to accommodate changes and fix any minor issues to ensure we would walk away loving the end product. For example, during a final walkthrough we showed them some issues with the finish on the quartz countertops. They arranged for the counter subcontractor to come out and repair them for us. So appreciated!I would highly recommend them and have already shared their contact information with our neighbor who was blown away by the beauty of our kitchen and new wood floors. We can’t wait to work with them again on our next remodel project.

We hired J & M Remodel to build a bedroom and two work-from-home locations in our unfinished basement. The project included framing, electric, floors, painting, and installing an egress window. Everyone we worked with, from the owners, to the project manager, carpenters, and subcontractors, was friendly and professional. The project estimate was right in line with the final cost (we didnt have any major mid-project changes to complicate costs). Everyone who entered our home was polite and courteous. I really couldnt be happier with the results or the cost.

J&M remodeled our kitchen last summer and they did a fantastic job. Almost a year later and we still appreciate it every day, everything is holding up well. The overall process took about 10 weeks from start to finish, and they were friendly and communicative throughout the process. In the beginning we werent sure exactly what we wanted, and Justin quickly had a better vision for our space than we did. The work was extensive - taking out a load-bearing wall, moving the sink to a different wall, two new windows, removal of a third window, installation of a new gas line, new flooring... in short it was a complete tear-down and rebuild. We have another window project queued up for work once this pandemic has cleared up and cant wait to see the team again in the near future. One more last story - they brought in extra hands to finish up in the last few days just to make sure things were done before family was scheduled to visit - they really went out of their way to make things work for us.

We had the very best bathroom remodel experience with J&M. We received a handful of bids, with theirs right in the middle as far as price, but way above the rest as far as detail and professionalism. From beginning to end, this was painless. The final invoice was very close to the original bid, and the job was finished in exactly the amount of time promised. Russell, our lead contractor, was wonderful to work with. He is patient, accommodating, and a very talented carpenter. The finished result is exactly what I had hoped for. I highly recommend J&M!

I had a leak in my upstairs shower, which dripped down into the wall below (in the foyer) and affected the electrical wires. Brandon came out and diagnosed the problem quickly (a faulty shower pan). He was able to start the repair right away, which involved taking out the tiles on the floor and lower level of the shower, removing the old shower pan, drying out the whole area, replacing the shower pan and re-tiling. He also fixed the shower door, which had been installed incorrectly years ago. Finally, he fixed the hole in the drywall (created to diagnose the issue).

J&M did a whole house remodel for my family. They came in at budget and hit their deadline. This was especially impressive considering my wifes constant change orders. I will use them again and have recommended them to others.

Just has J&M do some work again! They completely remodeled my first bathroom and it turned out so gorgeous I almost dont want to use it. I was so pleased with the timeliness and quality of the work I asked them to come back and do some work on the back bathroom and bedrooms. Again, very professional and courteous with beautiful results.

Justin and his team have performed a number of odd jobs around my house over the past few years. Ive always found J&M to be responsive, courteous, and helpful. Most importantly, they perform quality work at reasonable prices and always guarantee that should problems arise, they will come back and fix them. Luckily for me, weve had no issues with their work thus far. I have no problem recommending them to friends and family.

We have lived 32 years in a 37 year old house in West Seattle. Our 7ft X 5ft bathroom off the master bedroom needed to be remodeled. The sink, toilet and shower all leaked and required constant maintenance. The bathroom was a wreck. We picked J&M Remodeling to remodel our bathroom for two reasons: first, they are a known local West Seattle company, and second, we could tell from their photo galleries of their work that they knew what they were doing. Our belief was confirmed when we talked with Justin. This company knows what it’s doing.Russ Hoefer, the chief remodeler, coordinated and did all the construction work, carpentry, WEDI install, and tile work. The tile work alone is remarkable. Russ is very experienced, adaptable and readily solves any problems to keep the momentum going. The plumber, Dean, with Rain City and the electrician, Cameron - Fine Lines Electric, are phenomenal. Not only was this space remodeled, but it was also re-constructed with quality and material upgrades that equal the beauty. The workmanship put into this job is fantastic. We love our new bathroom. We highly recommend J&M Remodeling to do any remodeling work for your home.

Caution...Our remodel had so many problems that it was prematurely terminated (maybe 3 days before completion) by J&M under the guise that we failed to pay an invoice when it was due. The reality is that Justin (Owner) wanted out of the contract because he had lost control of his crew and did not like me contacting him every other day about the work integrity of his workers. I had no problem with the quality of their work nor their personalities but I never knew from one day to the next if either of them were going to show up. One worker didnt show up on three different days ( once a week) with excuses running from Im not feeling good to my phone stopped working and I need to get it fixed. The lead worker had an unfortunate death in his family and basically stopped work on our remodel from that day forward. Justin claimed that we lacked compassion by inquiring as to when he would start work again. We discovered that the actual reason he kept missing days was because he was spending his time cleaning up the deceaseds house to get it ready for sale. Never once did he or Justin call us to explain what was going on or when we could expect him to get back to work. This lead made the unilateral choice that his outside work was a higher priority than fulfilling his obligation to us.Justin only said that he didnt have any other workers available and that we just had to live with it and the inconveniences it was causing us.Long before we got to this point in the remodel we had to face a myriad of other inconveniences that Justin basically shrugged off and took no initiative to alleviate. A few days into the work I discovered that a couple of electrical outlets on the wall opposite the work area ( microwave and coffee pot had stopped working) were probably the result of the work being done in the bathroom. Justins sub-contractor was called and returned two days later to fix the problem. After he left I then discovered that my freezer and the power in our 2nd bathroom was now without power. I ran extension cords to restore those outlets and waited another two days for the electrician to return . After he fixed that problem and left i discovered that all the power in our Rec Room was now lost. I implored Justin to get a handle on these continuing problems and offered to get my own electrician to find the solution; his response was that since he didnt think that it was an emergency and treated it just like another inconvenience for us to endure. After this I told him that I thought he was unprofessional in handling of the job and with addressing our growing concerns his response was that I was insulting him and harrassing him. As for fixing my last electrical problem I had to run a half dozen extension cords between two rooms and wait another couple of days for the electrician to do the ultimate fix. In the end the electrical problems were solved and the electrician informed Justin that they were all caused by the team working on the remodel... and we were not billed for them. Apparently the multitude of inconveniences we had to endure were our problem not J&Ms.The payment issue was a red-herring excuse for Justin to terminate the job because he didnt like me complaining about what was happening. On the day I received the invoice ( a Thursday) I attempted to pay it on-line using the auto-pay account that J&M asked us to use...it didnt work! I contacted the owners wife who didnt know why the pay system failed and would look into it. She then asked me (on Monday) to just write a check and give it to the workers. I said fine but told her I was now out of town and would be returning ON Thursday with the check. She said that would be fine ( via email). Thursday morning both workers actually showed up together and demanded the check from my wife who tried to explain to them that I was on an airplane and would be back in a couple of hours. They then said that they were going to terminate the contract for non-payment and walked away! Now left with finding someone to complete job.
