Ive had my car serviced here twice in the last 2 years and both experiences were equally fantastic. John at the front desk is so friendly and helpful, Duke the garage dog is there to greet you and ask for belly rubs, and the service is top notch.Theyll fix what needs fixing and are honest about what they recommend beyond that, without any pressure for you to commit. Theyre timely with getting your car back to you and they keep you updated as needed during the repair process. It feels good to know theres such a reliable auto shop I can turn to when the need arises.
Efficient and reliable. I come here when I cant make it to the shop Ive been going to for over 20 years (because I dont fix whats not broken!). Duke greets you at the door and John checks you in and gets the ball rolling. I get a receipt with everything thats been done, and what to look for in the future. The website is easy to navigate, I get reminders/confirmation requests for my appointments. They know what theyre doing, so you dont have to worry :)
Great local shop. Responsive, quick, respectful and reasonable.
Called, and they were immediately rude right off off the bat. No thanks.
Incredibly nice staff, called for an oil change and they got me in same day! Sweet giant black lab greeting customers in the office is an added bonus 🙂
Awesome. Impressed with quick turnaround and quality work, for a reasonable cost.Good to discover this trustworthy shop, after being lied to from price gouging Honda dealership.
I blew a tire right in front of this shop. They had me fixed up, feeling comfortable, and my day was made in under 20 minutes. Super impressed with the customer service and will be back to get more extensive work done here very soon.
Called Garys after my car broke down and they were able to help me right away! John was so pleasant and communicative, I would absolutely recommend this place to anybody, they definitely know what theyre doing here!
I found Gary’s by accident (no pun intended), but it has worked out well! They are good at carefully diagnosing (not over-diagnosing) and are timely in getting the work done. Friendly and affordable too!
I greatly appreciate the work that was done and they saved me some trouble by replacing my dead battery before it was too late. Thank you!
This place is a gem. The guys that operate it are competent, and reasonable, not to mention a pleasure to deal with. They even showed me what was wrong with my car before they took it off the lift and put the wheels back on, which they did quickly. There are not many people around here that still operate their business like this. Kinda warms my heart if Im honest.
I went to garys auto on Greenwood when I was 8.5 months pregnant. I was about to be a new mom. & the nesting phase hit hard! My car (the only one big enough to hold a car seat) had 100,000 miles & I was not in a position to buy a new one. Gary & the other mechanics were great! They did what needed to be done & now almost 4years & 2 carseats later, Im still driving the same car
We went into Gary’s asking for an oil change and because we felt our breaks need to be replaced. They reminded us we did not need a oil change for another 1000 miles and we did not need new breaks just a cleaning and lubricant. This saved us a lot of money and they have our business in the future.
I have finally found a place that I TRUST to take my cars! They fixed my car for a reasonable price, debunked Firestones bogus diagnosis, reset some error codes, taught me some things about my diagnostic center, and treated me with kindness! John (front desk) spoke my language and was very helpful, and Tony (mechanic) did an outstanding job and is passionate about cars. Highly recommmend!!
Gary has been doing auto repairs for our family for over 40 years and does a tremendous job with customer service and auto repair. He started with my dad ( who was a race car driver ) and has been so been doing repairs for myself and my siblings since. We are lucky to have found someone we trust with all of our auto repairs. Wouldnt take our family repairs anywhere else - we highly recommend Gary!
If I have a choice, the only repair shop I will ever take my car to is Garys Greenwood Auto Repair. In 8 years, I have had nothing but great service from this shop. Gary is straight forward, honest, knowlegable and a nice guy. He takes the time to answer all my questions completely, meets or beats his estimates and has my car ready when scheduled. Ive had a few car problems (1992 Jeep) on the road in other states and have called Gary to make sure I am getting the straight story and reasonable pricing. When it comes to my car, it is nice to know there is someone I trust. When I leave Garys shop I know my car is repaired right, that I have paid a fair price and gotten the best service in town. I highly recommend Garys Greenwood Auto Repair. We need to keep good businesses like this busy!
I was recommended to Garys by a friend. Gary and his team did a fantastic job. Not only did he give me an incredibly accurate quote, but the quote was 30% less than what Les Schwab had offered to do the job at months prior! However, when I drove off the lot I noticed the same noise I had originally brought my car in for...To his credit, Gary took several occasions to ride along with me to try and diagnose the high-pitched, low volume sound I kept hearing. He was unable to hear it. I told him that it was loudest in the morning, so I left it overnight. The next day I received a call that another mechanic could hear the noise. Turns out it was the anti-rattle clip for front brakes rubbing on the rotor. They repositioned it, the car was ready to pick up, and it was no extra charge!Great price, great service, and follow through--Ill be back again!
Ive been taking multiple vehicles to Garys for years and years.....for good reason! They are experts who are honest and completely reliable for advice and excellent work. I am thrilled that I live in the neighborhood, but if I didnt Id still bring my vehicles to Garys Greenwood Auto Repair. Great business!!
I would never take my car to Gary’s. I went to Gary’s because I read good reviews regarding his good, honest and friendly service--well, whoever wrote that probably did not question Gary and had their car done by him, and yes, he is nice as long as you give him the job. But if not…that’s another story.A customer is entitled to respectful and professional customer service, whether he does business at an establishment, or not. Gary and his mechanic seemed very friendly at first, but after they realized I wasn’t going to give them my business right then, they changed dramatically. His mechanic was downright rude to me. However, the worst part of the rude treatment towards me was the fact that it all happened right in front of Gary, the owner, and after the mechanic left and I remarked to Gary that your mechanic seemed to be rude and out of line, instead of offering me an apology for his mechanic’s lack of manners, Gary just made a weak excuse for his behavior, saying he comes from the “old European school.”Here is my whole story:I brought my car in for a computerized estimate, and three hours later was quoted $430. I was ready to pay it only to find out that the inspection fee of $100 would not apply toward the final bill. So, it was more like $530, which was above my budget. So, I asked Gary if I can have a print out of the inspection. Well, everything changed in his, and his mechanic’s, demeanor and manner after that.Gary became evasive and made several excuses why he could not give me a printout. First he said we have never given a printout to anyone, and then he said it would take an hour to do, and then he needed to go to lunch, implying I would have to wait a few hours for the printout. I agreed to wait.Gary’s mechanic really did not like the fact that I asked for a printout apparently, and he made no effort to hide his feelings, saying “whatever” in a snide way. He then brought my car around, speeding, and stopped suddenly. He proceeded to do the printout, which by the way took all of FIVE minutes! But even worse, after he was done, the mechanic proceeded to stick the printout in my face, asking me if I could read it, could understand it’s meaning. At first I thought he was talking about the fonts. Then I realized he was saying since I could not read the technical graph, that it was useless to ask for the printout. I told him that I paid $100 for that inspection and was entitled to printed results. Finally, I got the printout and I explained to them that I might need to take my car elsewhere, and I didn’t want to pay again for the same inspection. The mechanic made a sarcastic and condescending remark and proceeded to go back to the garage, after slamming the office door. However, there is good news -- I went to another mechanic shop where I found a friend I have been trying to track for a year and a half.
Will always take my vehicles here, always top notch work.
Excellent work! Fast and thorough! Honest guys and excellent prices.
Usually take my Ford cmax to the dealer, but garys is right around the corner from my house. On top of an oil change, he did a bunch of minor repairs. He did a great job, and it was much more affordable than the dealer.
I was referred to Garys over 8 years ago and have been taking my vehicle to his shop ever since. He has always been honest, patient, & straight forward with all the maintenance and repairs. I highly recommend Garys Greenwood Auto Repair to anyone who’s searching for a friendly local business.
Not too happy.... I called in for a quote for a simple oil change and a transmission fluid flush. He quoted me an astronomical price for a transmission fluid flush... $234.00 for a Toyota Yaris.... I never paid more than $150 for a transmission fluid flush for any of my vehicles. In addition, I was quoted close to $100 for a simple oil change. I will not be taking my car here.
Garys does very thorough work and their prices are reasonable. We have been customers for the last few years and I cant imagine going elsewhere. They give auto repair shops a good name!
My husband works here so I have to leave 5 star
I have been a Phinney neighbor for 8 years. I have used Garys as our main shop for basic repairs and maintenance of our 2 cars. During an oil change to my wifes car they identified a problem with the front breaks. They said it needed rotors replaced. My wife took the car a few days later and they told her nothing was wrong with the rotors but they replaced them anyway! charging us $280. I was away an unable to take care of this issue in time, but left two voicemails and never got a response back. I am now sitting in a different shop, 10 months later because the car shutters a lot when breaking. Our new mechanic explained they should have never replaced rotors without replacing the pads too. This caused the new rotors excessive and premature wear. They are forced to replace the rotors again and pads and I will pay over $400. Thank you Gary, you lost a loyal neighbor. Definitely avoid this shop by all means.
Very accommodating with my delay in picking my vehicle due to Seattle traffic.
Great service and fair price. I get a real honest feeling from their repairs and recommendations.
The repair work from last September was satisfactory and the technician seemed to know BMWs, having worked at the dealership before. When I tried to go back to check up on some engine lights coming on, I was blown off and told that they would not likely be able to help me. I dont get how the owner can pick and choose customers. In this day and age and economy, I was surprised to basically be told to go elsewhere. I was very polite so I dont know why Im being blown off.Very frustrated about this local business that I wont be returning to. The least he could have done was to allow me to bring it in to assess if they could help me or not.
Gary has taken care of our vehicles for over a decade, and the work is good and he is patient and trustworthy.
Ive been taking my car to Garys for 8 years now and he has kept my 1990 Acura in good shape, and at a fair price. I would not go anywhere else.
Best place for car repairs!
Very trust whorthy
