When we decided to start martial arts our 8 year old at the time, my husband (who used to teach martial arts) and I reviewed several schools and had our child try a couple classes first. We chose this school for our boy, and now mother and brother are taking karate lessons as well. Legacy Martial Arts is more than just a sport, it’s a philosophy of life and a community. The school is clean, organized, professional as well as warm and welcoming. 5 stars without a doubt!

My son has had the great opportunity to experience this amazing place the last few years. Master C is simply awesome with kids, teens and adults. He is positive, motivating and his charisma and love for what he does is contagious. Master C and his team teach in an environment that builds techniques and skills with positive and reinforcing teaching methods. This is a great karate studio. Master C is wonderful with the children. He instills confidence through hard work and makes them want to come back again and again. I have been to many other karate studios and think this one stands out. The instructors are all kind and the students seem very positive about what they are accomplishing. We hope to be part of the school for a long time.

Master C is one of the most influential people I have ever met. I was a student of his for many years and I’m glad to say that lessons he taught me years ago I still often apply to everyday life. He is a role model and the best teacher when it comes to martial arts and life lessons.

My son has been going to Kempo Martial Arts with Legacy and Master C for the past 9 years (he started when he was 5 years old). While my son is not always the perfect student, Master C has always been the perfect instructor. I have total faith in him. Legacy Karate of Scottsdale is hands down the best! My daughters have both flourished with their supportive teaching and goal setting techniques. Not only are they learning how to perform karate that can help defend themselves, but they are becoming well rounded individuals by following their teachings on supporting their peers, setting goals, and respecting yourself and others. This has been a life changer for my kids. I can’t thank you enough!

Master C and his team are truly a special group of people. Our young son has learned so much and has gained a tremendous amount of confidence since attending classes at Legacy. We couldnt be happier!

We have two children that participate at DePalmas Team USA in Scottsdale and we are thrilled with the program! We have been participating for 5 years and it feels like visiting family when our kids attend class. Mr. C and his wonderful staff have an amazing talent to positively motivate kids. Life skills such as respect, perseverance and goal setting are reinforced daily! Standards are set high and it has been an amazing journey to watch our kids continually meet their goals as they each earn new belts and accomplish new skills. The school is a positive, friendly and open environment and our kids have already made wonderful life long friendships. We couldnt be happier with this school and team of instructors!

Both of my boys have been taking karate here since they were 4, they are now 13 and 11. The positive impact that all of the instructors have on the students is amazing!! The kids/students look up to them so much. My boys wouldn’t be who they are today without Legacy Martial arts in their lives.

Our son loves it! Mr. C and the entire team at DePalmas Team USA make American Kempo Karate both fun and educational. The school provides the perfect balance between learning new physical skills while reinforcing important social and mental skills like respect, perseverance, focus and goal accomplishment. They also make it fun with a whole range of extra activities like movie night, morning classes, summer camps, special events and the progressive use of social media. This is great school run by a great team!

I have two daughters who have been taking classes at DePalmas for a little over a year, and as all the other reviews say, the instructors are wonderful and the classes are enjoyable. The thing that I like about the school is how they put so much emphasis on respect, leadership and goal setting. These are all qualities that will help the students throughout their lives. Mr. C, in particular, does a great job of using personal stories to emphasize these skills in a way that the students understand. More than once I have used his examples in other situations. I have found that taking things to the next level in karate requires a big commitment (time & money), not only from my kids, but from me as well; however, this is one of the few extracurricular activities my kids have tried that they have stuck with, and I see tangible results from their lessons, so its worth the time and effort!

DePalmas Desert Mountain is hands down the best karate school around. Mr. Cs positive energy and the support of his team make karate both a fun and learning experience. I would recommend DePalmas (already have, actually) to anyone.

My family has been training at this school for many years. My two children started out in their ‘little dragons’ program at a very young age. Right off the bat they were learning respect, honesty and focus. They have now moved up the ranks in the kid’s class and are developing great martial arts skills, coordination, self confidence, and most importantly they are still learning respect and focus. The school is top notch and the staff is excellent and well trained. The head instructor Master Calantog, “Mr. C” is a highly trained 5th degree black belt with a gift of motivation and positive thinking. I train at this school myself and earned a black belt a couple of years ago. The experience still remains one of the hardest and most rewarding things I’ve ever done. My family has referred other families here and they continue to train and progress. I highly recommend this school, it’s not easy but the rewards are well worth it, especially if you’re a parent.

Master C is a great instructor. I enjoy every opportunity to train with him.
