Im Barry Brooks and I confess I have not worked with Oliver Ross and his team at Out of Court Solutions. But the reason Im writing is I have had several of my friends do so and have had terrific resolutions for all parties involved. No hostility often typically found with divorce attorneys. I appreciate the option of Out of Court Solutions. I found it difficult to find a way to proceed with a divorce that was not blatantly adversarial. It seems that litigation is baked in to Divorce law. OCS was expert and provided good information and guidance that kept us on track. I found the support of their administrative wing just as helpful as the legal work. I other words, there are lot of details for processing and the admin staff were great about keeping things rolling. I would recommend this solution as competent alternative to separate legal counsel on each side. Sometimes people agree to dissolve their marriage and its okay. OCS reflects that in their approach.

Two major issues in my mediation settlement agreement have not been upheld in court. Biggest issue being monthly financial agreement. I had attorney and judge tell me it wasn’t enforceable because the mediator set up the full amount paid to me as child support instead of separating it out as spousal support and Child support. I gave up my half of our family owned business, walked away with nothing in return for this settlement. Now I get less then 1/4 of what I agreed to with no recourse in family court. I completely trusted them. Attorney and judge both agreed I was not represented/protected properly in mediation but said there was nothing they could do

I think its important that others know that I felt disrespected and lied to by Out-of-Court solutions. After my spouse missed the first consultation, I can understand how I would need to put down a deposit ($175) to ensure that we wouldnt miss another. I put my card on file with Out-of-Court Solutions, and was told that we would only be charged in we didnt show. I ended up not scheduling a second consultation, but was still charged. I do not understand how I was a no-show to a non-existent consultation. Then I felt that I was then blamed for not understanding the process, and told I would only be receiving $80 back as an accommodation only. I was happy to pay some administration fees, but $95? That seems unreasonable to me. I am so very disappointed to have this happen on top of my spouses name being misspelled multiple times on emails from Out-of-Court Solutions. Since Ive lost trust with Out-of-Court Solutions, Im scared now that I may not even receive that partial refund. My suggestion to anyone looking to get hire Out-of-Court Solutions is that they attempt to get solid answers about fees etc. before even the first consolation, or go somewhere where they are open about costs before you start.UPDATE: I did receive the partial refund. I still do not feel that they were honest in their approach to the situation. I have an audio recording stating that they would not charge me, and they still did.

I do NOT recommend settling any different divorce agreements through this firm. Even though my Ex and I agreed on a settlement, there is no one that can stop an Ex from breaching the agreement. If you are to receive spousal maintenance, the payments need to be set up to go through the Maricopa County Clerks clearing house. Just like child support payments. If the spouse doesnt pay, then the Clerks office files a court order of enforcement. I was never informed of any contingency possibilities and how to circumvent them. My Ex stopped paying spousal maintenance 3 years ago. I was evicted from my home, lost my vehicle, resulting in loss of job. Ive had no money to hire a GOOD attorney to take my ex to court to have our settlement enforced. Mr. Ross collected a lot of money and his mediation proved to be worthless!!

Even under the best of circumstances, a divorce is a difficult process to go through. Tamara Hirsch proved to be an incredibly valuable guide through painful territory. Not very clear in email communication, which they charge you for each and every time. Very slow processing time, and Im not talking about the court processing time. They misfiled/lost/misplaced notarized documents, my ex husband and I had to coordinate and re-sign again. Then they did it AGAIN! 3rd time I have to go and notarize a document they lost, so I can coordinate with the ex so HE can re-sign/notarize and we had to PAY THEM MORE MONEY for this process. Horrible on top of dealing with other aspects of divorce. I wish I went through another company for this whole ordeal.
