First timer with Lori. She hooked it up, and delivered a perfect cut. Brought in a picture of what I wanted, and she 1) knew the style and 2) quickly delivered.For any first timer’s out there, rest assured you’ll get what you’re looking for at Ideal with Lori. I very rarely get my hair cut professionally... it had been over four years of me hacking away at it myself, dyeing it, bleaching it, not brushing it for days... it was a mess, and I fortuitously parked in front of Ideal Hair Salon while running errands. I thought why not? and made an appointment with Lori.Without knowing my personality, I let her have a go at whatever she thought would look good on me. She did a great cut that is manageable for me, but also is fun, bold, and sexy! I have played around with it and it looks amazing whether I do nothing to it or do the whole product-blowdry-roundbrush routine.I so so so appreciate the work she did, especially since it must be harder for her since she isnt drying hair cuz covid (which I also appreciate - she and the receptionist were very respectful of covid safety). Lori herself is personable, fun, and very communicative. I highly recommend and I definitely wont wait years now that I found a great stylist! Thank you Lori!

11/25/14Went back to see Joe to purchase another wig that caught my eye on the 11/19/14, I brought my other wigs that needed attention. Joe fitted the wig i wanted and cut it to fit right to my liking, then Joe took the time to fix the 2 wigs I took with me so now they look like there my real hair.I made a mistake going elsewhere to purchase them, only to not have the attention that Joe gives his customers. He deserves 6 stars from me. When I need another wig in a different color I will be going back to see Joe!

Had no idea how to do period pie hair like 20’s style then had to set up a consultation to discuss what it was... after speaking briefly to sone one who appeared to have little or no experience I found another salon thepat understands hair styles. I would give less than 1 star but unfortunately that wasn’t an option. Do your self a favor go where they understand hair and styling

Joe was the first barber I went to when I moved to Santa Cruz in 1965. There has been only 2 other barbers that have cut my hair, totaling a period of about 2 years. (I didnt want to drive to Scotts Valley!) Now, after a period of almost 50 years, Joe has been my barber of choice. Why change now??

$45.00 plus tip to spray down my daughters hair and give her a trim across the back. No blow dry. Less than 10 minutes. I should have said something. Highway robbery.
