This school is excellent and seems to only get the very best teachers and gets them to do their very best.Ryan especially though is probably the best teacher Ive ever seen. He exemplifies a biblical idea of a leader and a shepherd who will leave the ninety and nine and go after the one. He has consistently dealt with my especially hard headed 3 year old with a perfect attitude and toughness and confidence I havent seen anyone do in a long time. May God bless us all with more young teachers like him. Im unrelated so dont get the idea this is a family member preaching about his family. This kid is legit. Also I want to say all the teachers are excellent and have the best attitude when dealing with dozens of small children or even a few adults. Great school overall.

My son and I started studying martial arts here over three years ago. Thanks to the excellent instructors, we have both achieved our training goals. For a traditional martial art school, Kung Jung Mu Sul has a curriculum that will keep you challenged to black belt and well beyond.They also have a top-notch leadership program that focuses on servant leadership within the school and the community. I am truly impressed with Kung Jung Mu Sul of Schertz. I have wanted to get my daughter enrolled in martial arts for some time. Her and her sister now take courses here and are loving every minute. My son and I have been training at Kung Jung Mu Sul since 2015 and I started working in the After School program shortly after we began training. Ive loved watching my son grow in his skills as well as watching the instructors grow in how they teach. They recognize that those of us who are learning dont all learn the same way. None of this comes easy for me and Ive definitely seen them have to get creative in ways to help me understand. I love that even when I dont have confidence in myself and my abilities, they are very encouraging and always trying to push me out of my own way. As an employee, I love the family feeling. Knowing that the people I work with are more than just coworkers is amazing. I know they have my back in and out of the school! And because of the family atmosphere, Ive found some of my best friends in getting to know the parents of the children I was taking care of!

This program has been amazing for my 7 year old daughter, who is very shy. In her intro class she cried and didnt want to get involved, but said she wanted to sign up, so we signed her up. She has blossomed with confidence and respect and my 14 year old and myself have also started training. We love the family atmosphere and all of the employees are wonderful and supportive.

We found out about this program from my son’s school friend and upon our first visit, I knew that this would be a good fit for our family. They have a strong emphasis on respect and strong body as well as strong mind. I felt this was a wonderful after school experience where my son would learn self-discipline and self-defense, if he should ever need that in his life.

My name is Gary Toombs and I’ve been an employee of Kung Jung Mu Sul for almost 4 years. I went to work for Mr. Ted Myers (Master Myers) as a bus driver at first. It was a fun job picking up students from various schools. After two years of driving buses, I attained the after school leadership role working with 4 other employees. In my almost 4 years I can only say that I have never been happier with my roll in the after school program and bus driver. The camaraderie and communication between all the employees is amazing even through the pandemic of 2020. I see happy hard working co-workers and it shows through the kids and families who show up everyday to take karate. All of my leaders (bosses) that I answer to are great and the relationship is amazing. At a time where I could stay at home and enjoy retirement, I choose to stay here and work with some amazing kids, parents, co-workers and bosses. I highly recommend Kung Jung Mu Sul for anyone’s kids. I’ve seen it transform kids to become outstanding young leaders.

I have been going to karate for 3 years I was bullied in second grade and my mom put me in karate I became stronger as a person and as a kid I have learned so much about who I am and I have meet my second family and I feel at home when I go there they help with the struggles that I have been through and make me realize that I can be bigger than the bullies I finally stood up for myself and became stronger then the bully. It it truly a blessing for me to have amazing people that care about me a much as I care about them I love going there and it’s so much fun it was hard at first but then I realized that they were going to like me for who I am and that I am loved it helped me with my struggles and I don’t have those same feelings I am now going to 6th grade and I’m so happy I definitely recommend this place if your kid or you are having struggles.

The after school program and structure has been a blessing for our family. Our son has developed a confidence in himself and a great respect for the staff. Having martial arts experience, I knew what I wanted in a school. We shopped A LOT of martial schools for our son. Found Kung Jung Mu Sul - Universal City by chance. From the first day, I knew this would be a good place to train. We came to this KJMS - Schertz after the Universal City location closed. The transition was seamless because we were already part of the KJMS Family.Theres a no nonsense approach. You get promoted by earning your rank. If you think youre entitled to promote because its your time, this is not the place for you. You have to do the work, and you have to be competent. If not, youre not testing. Its as simple as that.I was offered and accepted a position working for the school. The term co-worker doesnt apply to the staff. Its more like an extended family. Sure, there are problems that arise, but theyre dealt with discreetly and professionally to include coaching and opportunities to improve. We all genuinely like each other and get along. Theres no more drama.As instructors, we attend two classes a week to improve our teaching skills. We learn not only for ourselves but for our students, so they can fully benefit in their classes. Instructor training is not optional, its mandatory.If you want to get rank, this isnt for you. If you want to learn skills for life, KJMS is the place.

My kids and I stopped in from an outside school to check out a class here. All the instructors are extremely professional amd very clear on instructions. Coming from an outside school everyone made me feel very comfortable and welcome.

My son has been training here for a few months now. He is five and is a typical rambunctious five year old, but since he has been going here he is calmer and more focused. He is also much more respectful and attentive. The staff here are great with kids and are able to keep their attention while still instructing them on the skills. They also offer adult classes which I am considering.

We love this place. My whole family (all 5 of us) are actively participating with Kung Jung Mu Sul. Instruction here is excellent. Teaching is in line with the respect, discipline, responsibility to society as an extension of what we already teach at home. Ive spoken with a lot of folks about their personal experiences with martial arts and Ive found they adhere to the original tenets and teaching of the Korean Royal Court. Its the real thing. No trophies just for showing up--you have to earn it. Competitive, but not to a fault. Atmosphere of mutual respect. They really know how to handle kids and develop them at different rates. Safe, fun environment, after school programs and camps available at specified times. Staff here will go all in for you if you make an effort. I started training when my kids did and its great. Birthday events, holiday celebrations, fundraisers, etc. to participate in--if you want to. Great place.

Took my son here to hopefully enroll him he was excited to become a “ninja”. But we walked in and were not once greeted nor acknowledged. We stood at the front for 10/15 minutes and still not a single person acknowledged us. We finally just walked out and took our business else where.

My family and I regularly attend Kung Jung Mu Sul and the instructors are awesome! They not only patiently teach the curriculum, but also life lessons, and character building as well. My child and I have been training for over 4 years. For my 8 year old son, I love how the instructors are able to teach him things that I couldnt imagine him learning (things I was struggling to learn). He doesnt always like to focus or do his best, and there are consequences for that. Nothing is just given to him. I also love that I have back up when Im dealing with behavior issues.For myself, I just earned my black belt! When I started training over 4 years ago, I never imagined that being anywhere in my future. The encouragement I received from the instructors to push through the hard stuff made all the difference. And of course, Mr. Trae giving me the extra push that I needed - to be ready to test for 1st degree when he tested for 3rd degree - was a big deal.Thank you Kung Jung Mu Sul for everything youve done and continue to do for my family!

Both of my sons attend this martial arts class and they both really enjoy all the different things that they get to do their. They learn morals, ethics, discipline, self confidence, structure, they get a work out, and most importantly they learn respect for themselves and others. The staff is friendly and kind and they always go out of their way to work with you, your schedules, and random things that life may throw at you. They are reasonably priced, pick your kids up from school, and are open on some of the days that schools are not. Thank you!

Kung Jung My Sul is a place where children learn more than Karate moves. They learn to use their manners, respect for others, and discipline! Which is a great follow up from what you as a parent do at home. My family and I love it!

We have been at KJMS for over a year with 2 kids that are in the after-school and training program. They have been amazing for my family, one of my kids isnt the easiest to manage and they have done an great job with him. I can say after 14 months or so, he has a better understanding of respect for oneself and others. We love how our kids are not just other kids, they are treated individually and encouraged to excel in all aspects of their program. What has also impressed us, is the training doesnt stop when they leave the mat, it extends to the classroom where they expect organization and concentration on their home work during the after school program.It has been a blessing for my wife and I to watch as our children found something they loved and advanced through the ranks. Mr. Meyers and his team run an amazing school, the only problem that we have had, was that we wish we would have found them a year earlier. Thanks for all you and your team have done for my sons.

My grand daughter started at Kung Jung Mul Sul when she was 4 years old as a tiny tiger. She was taught basic skills, including manners, courtesy, and honesty as well as very basic martial arts skills. As she got older she advanced to the Dragon level and continued with absolutely outstanding training. She earned her black belt last year at age 9. The staff and instructors at Kung Jung Mul Sul of Schertz have been the very best in providing her training and support while she works so hard. This is an exceptional school training children and adults in not just martial arts, but integrity, duty, discipline, and honor. Having a strong background in martial arts, my husband and I visited and did free intro- classes at more than 5 schools before we found one that met his high expectations. Most schools we found either a pay for progress or more of a daycare than dojo. We make the long drive to this school despite having one around the corner for the amazing instructors and family atmosphere. We are happy to be considered part of the Kung Jung Mu Sul family.

We have been a part of the KJMS family for almost 6 years. We have a 1st born blackbelt child, we have a 2nd born challenging green-senior belt, and we have a 3rd born uber anxious almost white belt. The point is, we have seen several views of the KJMS family. The instructors are continually trained, friendly, and attentive to the needs of the students. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The after school program is constructive, fun, and safe. The school is family friendly! They are open to all ages, abilities, and commitment levels.

The staff really cares about their students. Children are taught the importance of discipline of both mind and body while learning anti-bullying techniques and self-defense. The dojo is run by a mr. Myers who is friendly and fun while still maintaining a disciplined learning environment. The after-school program is inexpensive and a good experience for elementary and middle school-age children. They also do childrens birthday parties.

Dont take your kid here.. it is great up front, but once you get to know them its a different picture. I used to work there and was a student there I know from experience. Family atmosphere unless you stand up for yourself and your beliefs.

My youngest son started in the after school program at KJMS almost a year ago, when he started kindergarten. Having struggled during his preschool years, we knew he need something challenging, something structured, something were he would be accountable for his actions BUT most importantly taught about the consequences of his actions and the fact that its his choice, he is in control. It needed to be more than babysitting, more attention. Someone we could partner with to improve his overall development.I have to say, he has come leaps and bounds over the course of the year, thanks in large part to the staff at KJMS. He was taken much more pride in himself as he accomplishes each new skill, and has had marked improvements in behavior. Thats not to say he doesnt still have his moments (he is 6 after all!) But its significantly improved. We can not say enough great things and consider ourselves very blessed to be a part of this program. Our kudos to Mr. Meyers and all the staff for providing such a great environment for our kiddos.Our oldest son, has been so envious that weve enrolled him now and Im sure my husband and I will not be far behind!
