My wife and I just moved here from Fl and she has been very lonely since our big move so I decided to take her to find a new fur friend to cheer her up. The moment she saw Creed she did not want to look any further. We are beyond happy with our decision to adopt from the humane society of greater savannah. Trent was very helpful and made the process of adopting very simple and he really was very concerned of our new family members well being! Creed is an amazing addition to our family and our kids adore him!

Codi made our adoption process a breeze and really encouraged our big decision to take home our big goofball. We couldnt be happier!
Welcoming staff, that cares about the well-being of their animals. They are very informative if youre questioning about adopting a pet. I went in unsure about adopting, and left with alot of suggestions and advice once I decided on a pet.
At the Humane Society you find many people full of love and care for the animals and the owners. There is a very comfortable environment that facilitates whatever your business is at that location. Everyone wins at the Humane Society. I recommend this place to everyone.
Staff are very rude and unprofessional. I came in hoping to take home a sweet cat and the guy at the front desk had a nasty lip piercing and couldnt talk right to me. Which is very unprofessional and whenever I found a cat I wanted I was very rushed. The volunteer was the only person who cared about the animals there. The staff do not care about the animals at all. They only care about getting a paycheck. Its so sad for these animals and I hope one day somebody will see that and get new management and employees in there who actually care about the animals.
Nice place for animals. Dropped off dog food to help out. Great staff, spay/neuter options avaliable. If you have to give up your animal, dont abandon it..Humane Society has a place for you to give up your animal for its safety.

We came in today looking for a new kitten, but we wanted to take our time and make sure the kitten was the perfect choice for us. After falling in love with a kitten we left for a few hours to continue to think it over. We called the shelter later that day right as we were getting in the car to visit the shelter again, and asked if this specific kitten was still available. We were told to our surprise that he was still available and they even offered to put him on hold for us so we could secure him as ours. We arrived no later than 15 minutes after this phone call and to our shock the kitten we had reserved was being adopted right then. We told the workers right away that we had the kitten on hold and the person we spoke with on the phone even remembered the call. To our dismay no one did anything to fix the miscommunication and let the kitten continue to be adopted by the new person. We were so saddened to lose this cat after getting our hopes up and we were so disappointed with the lack of help and responsiveness from the volunteers and staff. Instead of helping solve the issue we were simply told “I’m sorry, it is kitten season so look out for more kittens in the future.” As someone who chooses a cat with lots of care this was a heartbreaking experience. Be careful.
It was a great place to adopt our puppy. Nina, their adoption coordinator was so great at answering all my questions. They had all our paperwork in a folder. Everything we saw was clean, including the puppy. They took time to go over things that might be difficult to adopters. It was a great experience!
Associate was so knowledgeable and helpful. He gave great tips and pointers and could tell he really cared about the animals.
I adopted a cat from there about a month ago and he is the sweetest baby in the world, but he stopped eating a day or two after I brought him home, so I took him to the hospital to get him checked out and they diagnosed him with IMHA, a disease that destroys the pets own red blood cells, the symptoms he had for this disease were noticeable leading up to the day I adopted him, the Humane Society clearly didn’t check up on his wellness during his stay there, otherwise they would have known. It makes me upset that instead of having a happy time with him, he’s constantly sick and low on energy without his medication. It’s horrible that this organization was not able to see that before you put him available for adoption, they even told me he was acting somewhat different that past few days before I got him, I just thought it was stress until he wouldn’t even get up to walk to me like he usually did or even meow.
Amazing group of people, from the office staff to the Vets! They all truly care about the fur babies they care for. This is one place that is definitely worthy of donations!
The quality of merchandise they receive is still great, but the ladies arent much help and havent been very friendly lately. Get it together chicks, where youre working is for a good cause. Lets get them sales ladies ! The Pups need treats !
This place is amazing, they are always friendly and they really care about the animals they care for. I got a dog here and she is amazing. They make sure that the animal you want to adopt will fit in well at home and get along with everyone. Make sure you tell them the living situation so that they can help you find a good friend. There is also a second hand store right above the adoption center, just follow the stairs up. All the funds go to helping the animals.
The staff is so caring to the animals. Every time I go I want to buy a bigger house and take them all home
So many wonderful dogs, cats and bunnies to choose from. There is also a thrift store where you can buy things to help support the shelter.

We adopted a cat here recently, and it was honestly pretty deceptive what they did. Told us he was a kitten and didn’t mention any health problems to us until an hour after we adopted him, then suddenly they let us know he was being treated for a uti, couple vet visits and investigations later and we found out he has major Health issues and spraying issues we weren’t aware about and was returned not once but 2-3 times in the past. Very deceptive, very unprofessional, and when we asked for his records they claimed at first that they didn’t have them.
I owe them for the fantastic best friend I have now. Ferdinand has been with me through so many moves and we now live in Virginia. He is incredible, and I owe the Humane Society for meeting him. I visited recently and they have made INCREDIBLE changes to the services for potential owners and the pets they want to find homes for.

It was a wonderful experience. We found our forever furbaby. Her name is Boo Boo. She is adjusting well to our home and us.
My experience was wonderful, Ethan and other staff were very kind and professional.
Very nice employees, lots of sweet animals to choose from, and a clean environment to meet and play with the animals. Plus, if they dont have the kind you were looking for or you didnt fall in love with any, they take down your information so that they can call you when one comes in that matches your wish.
I had to give up my poor baby’s because of unforeseen circumstances in my life and a staff member with black hair came in and took my cats without asking if wanted to say my last goodbyes which made it hard on me because giving up a pet is not an easy thing to do but the lady who did my interview surrender was professional and caring and reassured me that my baby’s are in good care. It takes a strong person to do that job and I want to thank her for listening to my ranting and emotional self. Thank you humane society for helping me out with my baby’s and I am sure you will find them the best homes.
The staff are very nice and the kitties are adorable. I wish I could bring them all home with me.

Absolutely amazing overall! The staff was phenomenal and so knowledgable about each dog, helping my friend pick the perfect companion! We went through 3 different dogs before finding the right match for her and the staff never once seemed annoyed by our constant questions, and they were quick to let us know all of the pooches special requirements which helped out so, so much!Easily one of the most positive experiences Ive ever had, so much so that I even felt inclined to post my first ever Google Review to let all of you know how great this place is!So happy for my friend and her new companion, and Im even more happy for that special dog for getting her 5th AND FINAL furever home! I adopted a dog here. I was told he was very young with his mother in the medical ward. He went into foster care for a few days (I wasn’t told why) and then I showed up to get him. I showed up supposedly getting a tiny chihuahua baby and instead was offered a 14 pound medium sized ONE YEAR OLD dog with severe anxiety problems (there were no photos of him on the website I was just told in person they had a CHIHUAHUA puppy) Apparently he went into foster care for anxiety issues, something we were told about exactly five minutes before adopting him. I’ve worked in a vet and volunteered here for two years before and I know the trauma a dog can get from being abandoned again so I will not return him. Now I had to suddenly be prepared to attempt to potty and leash train a dog who went a full year not knowing how. Not to mention find remedies for his severe anxiety and minor aggression to people. The dog also came to me with tape worm and bronchitis despite a medical record from supposedly very recently saying he was perfectly fine. I’m only giving two stars because some of the staff at the front and the obedience trainer were the ones who explained the truth about the dog, and even explained we could look at others.This situation was VERY very very careless, and this comment is solely so the staff can figure out better communication. Luckily the dog has made progress after a long time

The people there were so incredibly helpful and clearly wanted both me and the cat to find our perfect fit. Everything from tips and tricks to allowing me one on one time with several of the animals was wonderful. They clearly care about those animals very much and they also definitely want you to find the perfect baby for your home.
I absolutely love the staff and the care they have for their animals!!!I was just pulling into the intersection of Windsor rd and largo drive, I saw this beautiful fur baby out in the street so of course I stopped. I Just happened to have dog treats in the car left over from our dog Bella. I tossed one to the dog and she picked it up and took it to my Car and jumped in lol.I spent the rest of the morning tracking down a vet that would scan her for a chip. Luckily she had a chip and was actually adopted across town! I immediately brought her over and they were able to reunite her with her owners! She was in great condition and happy to be home😁.This location was extremely helpful and let me know within 10 minutes of leaving that they had made contact with the owner and she would brought home soon!
A great place to adopt a cat or dog. Sometimes they even have other animals for adoption.When they have an event going on its always interesting and fun.
Dog mom of two big shepherds. Been hit hard financially due to covid19. Visited the food pantry and was welcomed with absolutely no judgment.They care. Genuinely. They gave me 2 giant bags of food and my dogs couldn’t be more thankful. Thank you to those who donate. And thank you to the staff for being so friendly. We’ll pay it forward. Hopefully soon!

We adopted our cat, Bailey, from this place after we fostered him during the possible hurricane evacuation in September 2018. He got along so well with our dogs we decided to keep him.We surrendered 4 abandoned kittens here for adoption a few months earlier that we had rescued and socialized for about 8 weeks sadly to have them euthanized due to FIV.EDIT January 2019: HUMANE SOCIETY STAFF INFORMED ME THAT THEY NOW HAVE AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT MEDICAL TEAM AND WILL NO LONGER EUTHANIZE KITTENS THAT TEST FIV/FELV POSITIVE. THEY WILL KEEP THEM ISOLATED AND MAKE THEM AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION.Two more kittens found there way to our house last October. They tested FIV/FELV negative so we fostered them for three months and surrendered them for adoption. We named them Jack and Jillian. They were adopted quickly.Im a terrible foster parent because I miss them terribly but unable to care for them and Bailey too. 😢Update: The family that adopted Jillian was not a good fit for her so she was returned to HSGS on 3/8/19, 30 days after they adopted her.We discovered her on the website that night and adopted her today. Everybody seems happy about her return but she now seems to want to be the queen of the house. 😊

The cats running loose in this rv park have repeatedly ruined my garden and polluted under my home.The smell is so terrible it,s coming through my floor.Animal control has been living to me since December 2020. And Garden city are just as bad Please help 🆘 minus 10

My dog was picked up and taken to humane society. When I got there there. The guy tried to tell me my dog was not my dog. I hade to show pictures after pictures videos before the guy ask a manager help.

Great place to adopt! They appear to care about their animals. The only reason for the less than 5 stars is that have encountered awesome volunteers and some good staff but have also encountered rude staff with poor judgement and insight. Plus they mixed up records and essentially lost a pet.

Not a bad second or third choice if youre trying to find an animal to adopt however maybe its due to the covid-19 situation extremely limited resources extremely limited animals to choose from they should think about switching it up and having other animals also such as Birds hamsters and gerbils reptiles Etc I would recommend this place though

The team that works on the dog side of the shelter is absolutely unprofessional...I had to return two dogs that I got from them that we’re unsuitable for me and each time got the stink eye and the worst attitude. I guess they’d rather have you throw the dogs out on the street instead of returning them to a safe shelter..shame on them..will not be returning there again.
Super caring and helpful staff! Highly recommend. Only thing to keep in mind is in the morning if dropping your pet off when they open, be prepared for a possible wait. Otherwise, great experience. Wonderful service and value.
They have done an amazing job taking in my cat and have allowed me to see her even though I couldnt keep her. I love my fur baby and would have loved to keep her but unfortunately my living situation didnt allow for it. She has always had behavior issues and the team of people who have worked with Delilah have helped her past these issues and have her for adoption. They didnt give up on her and I am so thankful. Giving her up was so hard for me, but with their reassurance and guidance she is doing better than she ever has in her entire life. She needs a forever home where she can be herself and loved always.I am so thankful for the Humane Society of Savannah!

Amazing people and place! The resale shop is great and the volunteers taking the donations are a huge help. I highly recommend checking out the re-sale shop lots of great finds and all the money goes to help the animals. Of course all the animals are precious and very well taken care of.
My dog Max was placed in quarantine for 10 days is very hard to get a hold of these people as they don’t answer the phone but as I did get a hold of someone and they were nice enough to let me bring maxes blanket, is dog treats and a few of his other things while he was in quarantine the lady took the things to give to my dog was very familiar with my pet as I described him she knew who he was which made me feel good because they’re familiar with the animals Max gets out of quarantine today and I’m very excited to go get him tomorrow.

I am looking for a dog as we lost ours to old age. The staff are very professional and kind. The dog kennels were well kept and the dogs well cared for. The adoption fees are very reasonable for what you receive with the pet you adopt. Even though I didnt adopt that day I intend to visit again. I recommend this location to anyone looking for a new best friend.
