This is such a beautiful oasis and recreation facility not far from the hospital. A 1/2 mile trail winds thru wooded & grassy areas, around a lake, over a foot bridge, past a dog park and ends back at a parking lot for their recreation center and pool area. Beyond the pool is a picnic area, exercise equipment, and a childrens playground. Across the street are basketball & tennis courts.

This is a neat little expanse of greenery tucked along Waldemere. There is a variety of exercise equipment for adults and an array of climbing, swinging, turning bars and contraptions to delight younger folk. There is also an Olympic sized pool. Every time Ive been there the sun has been shining and the stately, laurel oaks that abound on the property offer such refreshing shade.

This is a nice park nestled in the Sarasota Memorial area of Sarasota Florida. Once you’ve arrived at the park you will notice the nice public pool. However due to COVID-19 the pool is only open for lap swimming by reservations only. Masks must be worn Arrington and leaving the pool area. Each reservation spot lasts for forty five minutes. The pool is heated. There is a nice large dog park within the walking trail. The dog park has small cooling off pools for the dogs to play in. Water so that you can not only give your dog a fresh drink but also put fresh water in the little pools. There are plenty of picnic tables for sitting while watching the dogs inside the fenced in area. I also noticed that people leave their own chairs there for people to sit in a more comfortable chair. This park has a really nice walking trail filled with wildlife. There are many different species of birds. Several species of turtles. All of them act as though you are going to feed them. I’m guessing people must feed them. They are so used to the dogs coming and going that it really doesn’t seem to affect them. There is a compose area for the plant life in the park. There are many beautiful plants to enjoy while walking the trail. The game Pokémon go has several stops in the park. There are benches and picnic tables throughout the park for your enjoyment.

This quiet neighborhood park is a shady oasis from the hustle and bustle just moments away at Memorial Hospital. Slip under the tree canopy, listen to the birds... reconnect to the beautiful world we live in. You might catch a glimpse of some turtles hanging out around the pond. This is a perfect place for a picnic with someone special or a slow stroll to clear your head.

This is the best public sports pool in the Sarasota/ Manatee county area. They have a kid lane, shallow area and a very large lane, deeper pool. Also the shallow pool is handicap accesable. This park has alot of other amenities as well. A full basketball court, outdoor park with a trail and ponds.

We really enjoyed the walking trail. It curves and is unexpectedly large for the middle of the city. It’s quiet and beautiful green space with a large pond in one section. The walking path is paved and well maintained, like really well. It was a great walk and there are some nice trees for some shady sections too. There is also a dog area fenced off in one section too.

Google says the pool is open. I called to make sure - We called this place a few times . The voice-mail says the pool is open. Its not; Its open if you reserve a pool lane to swim laps. But I dont even know how anyone could do that because the phone goes to voice-mail everytime . I understand covid may have changed the pool hours but someone should have been able to update the information on Google or on the voice-mail within the past year.

We come here for a picnic every now and then. Its a nice park with lots of trees. It has several picnic tables under the trees, and charcoal grills. Theres a large play area with slides and other fun things. The park is located in a marginal area, and one time a bunch of teenagers were actually sitting on the picnic tables. One couldnt stop coughing. We left.

Its a lot safer than when I was a kid. A lot of community stuff goes on certain times of the year, and a lot of people jog, walk their dogs, have picnics. They just built a neat outdoor workout area per request of the community right by the pool and playground, and its great. You can see ducks and turtles, and they really go all out for Halloween with decorations. The porch music festivals are fun, too.

It is so crazy. the have complete aquatic center that is closed on Sunday? kids could be learning to swim. the local water polo club could hold meets. seniors could be enjoy a non impact work out. and when its closed the rest room are closed off as well. so you have huge park on Sunday with no rest rooms. what are supposed to do with kids on the play ground. in the meantime you have people letting dogs run free where it is a designated toddler area. something is wrong here?

This park has been my go to for a few years now. My mother and I will get the dogs after work and take them to the fenced in area. The environment is welcoming and the park is pristine. The lake is very scenic and the little turtles and ducks floating around are always a joy. Sometimes there are ducklings that just melt my heart. Parking does get cramped on certain days when the swim teams meet but regardless, every trip to the park is wonderful.

I love this place and love to see it is still around and of interest by the next generation. My brother and I would come here during the summer either through a Boys Club field trip or straight here. My mom would give me $0.35, which is what it cost to enter the gym and pool and a few dollars to grab some flavored ice from the Snack Van that would be in the parking lot. It was such a fun time and was so tired afterwards. But I can remember the feeling vividly when we would pull into the parking lot and see the Flavored Ice Van and the sound of kids having summer fun in the Olympic size pools. I dont know if there are still things like this for the kids during summer or if Arlington Park still offers what it did for me and my youth years, but in any case it made for great memories and will always smile at the mention of Arlington Park.

I really appreciated and enjoyed visiting this park in the past couple of years, from the playground to the park and/or the pool for the day/evening. Until about a month or two ago, when they decided to start charging for use of their showers (which are almost always soaked and muddy all the way through, it feels like Im dirtier after I shower up at this place...)Anyways, the parks still a nice place to spend the day now and then, and the fees are at least, relatively inexpensive in general, pools not bad price for the money, unless it is a swim practice night and all of the lanes are blocked off for them...

This pool complex is lovely: no music blaring, set in a lovely wooded park, plenty of parking, friendly people. The pool and the locker room are clean. And the admission price is low. When I was in Sarasota, I enjoyed going to the Arlington Park pool three times a week to do my work out in the teaching pool. The warm water felt good on my arthritic knee, and I think having my joints warm really helped with the range of motion exercises. There’s a separate pool for lap swimmers, but people also swim and take lessons in the shallow water pool.If there’s no lifeguard at the teaching pool, you can ask the lifeguard on duty if there’s a lifeguard available, and then you can use it.While I did my workout, I enjoyed talking with lifeguards Sharon, Connor and Spiro. The receptionists are also very welcoming.
