Subaru in my experience is a two-sided coin. On one hand you have a reasonable product at a reasonable price on the other hand you have a company devoid of any accountability and apparently it is unable to make right given an opportunity to do so. I have a 2014 Crosstrek and it has struggled with air condition issues since purchased, recently I discovered a office memo between Subaru and their service tech providers regarding the dysfunction of this particular part. (See photos) Despite history of issues with my air condition Subaru offered no resolution and instead proceeded to charge me $110 to tell me that my air conditioning didnt work, well thanks guys if that aint a kick in stick, I dont know what is. Prior to bringing it back I had comprehensive diagnostic testing performed and it was truly an intermittent clutch failure of this compressor. I have video of this diagnostic operation in a more than willing to send it via email. If I live to be a thousand years old Ill never buy another Subaru again, not because theyre not a good car but because they cant be trusted to do the right thing on there own accord, that still matters to me. When I highlighted the fact that I had information pertaining to this faulty part their response was is that I wasnt supposed to have access to this particular information. Hows that for transparency and accountability.

Very organized and efficient service center. We came for an oil change for our car and were in and out within an hour. And a free car wash was included! Reasonable rates too. Big, clean waiting room with coffee and pastry for customers. There is also seating outside.

First time being at this dealership. Had an oil change and tires rotated as well as a couple recalls taken care of. Friendly staff, decent wireless for laptop. Service was pretty quick. Overall pleased with the service department on this visit.

We were in the market for a new Subaru Ascent. One of the salesmen here (leaving his name out intentionally) reached out and said they had this vehicle in stock. He also sent me an email they said we do have Ascent models available and please see some of our available Ascent models below. When I checked the inventory on the website, I seen several Ascents trim packages to choose from. What I did not know was the 2 Ascents they showed in the email with the line please see some of our available Ascent models below were the only ones they had and the additional ones on the website had very small fine print indicating these vehicles were in transit. So, I packed up the family and headed down to the dealership (about a 35 minute drive). We waited a few minutes for the salesmen to return and told him we were there to see a few different trim levels. He said the one in the Showroom was his only new Ascent and the only other one they had was pre-owned. When I and about the ones on the website, he said those were in transit and showed me the fine print. I explained that we werent interested in pre-owned now were we interested in the only model they had. I also said it would have been nice to have this clearly indicated on the website as other dealerships show (i.e. Subaru South Tampa). He wasnt concerned that we were upset nor couldnt see the model we actually wanted to purchase nor had spent 1.5 hours driving to/from for no reason. Would not recommend this dealership based on my experience, especially the lack of compassion or empathy this salesmen showed us.

Sunset Subaru is great with a helpful and friendly staff. I wound up buying 2 new Subarus because the pricing was so irresistibly. Mark Les is a great salesman to work with, and I would highly recommend that if youre thinking of buying an SUV stop in to Sunset and see and drive the difference. Subaru builds a wonderful product, and Sunset treats their clients great with a helpful, friendly staff without any high pressure tactics. 5 Stars for excellence !

I bought my Subaru in my hometown (Columbus, OH) about a month ago. I brought the car down to Sarasota for vacation with my fiancé. Within our first day, I got a screw in the back tire. I went to two separate auto shops in the areas that told me they could not repair the tire because of the location of the screw (I knew it was far enough from the sidewall, but they insisted otherwise). Both auto shops tried to sell me new tires. I realized there was a Subaru dealership in he area and decided to go there instead. Everyone was super friendly and they repaired my tire with a patch in about thirty minutes. They were upfront and honest. They saved me from buying a new tire and relieved a very stressful situation in under an hour. Take your Subaru here!

New management but it looks like the same people, so benefit of a doubt. Before summer 21 old management had great reputation.

We traded our 2014 Forester for a 2021. The entire process was very smooth thanks to a great staff. Everyone was friendly, professional and kind throughout the entire process. I would recommend Sunset Subaru to anyone.

Was allowed to take an unaccompanied test drive.Subaru needs to up its game. Outback seemed underpowered, and ride not as smooth as other manufacturers. Styling not memorable.

I had been customer of Sunset Subaru for 3 years, the service is good, but than i check my bill for service, there is always small unexplained amount added to my bill. than I question the bill, the manager apologizes and makes up another correct bill. It happens every time I come for service.

At the End of the Road.....Short, Sweet, Simple! Started looking Friday night no luck until Monday morning. From the Salesman (Brad) to the Sales manager (Tim) to the finance guy we handled everything right over the phone. No hassle, No BS, just str8 business. Worked out a deal around 11a.m. drove down after work arrived around 520p.m. & Drove off the lot @ 645p.m. The car Buying experience is just as important as finding what u want for what u can afford. Had a wonderful experience this past weekend while test driving a 2021 Subaru Legacy Touring XT (great car, btw!). Got my 1st Subaru forester Sport and I love it, I feel like I made a smart choice going to Sunset Subaru honestly because the whole time I didn’t real rushed or pressured into the sale by anyone, they answered all my questions I had, I felt like it was a safe and good over all company to do business with (as in giving them my money). I have had problems in the past with other dealers but this was one of the smoothest, easiest and non-complicated transactions I’ve had in a few years. Blessed for sure. But over all I am Happy with my choice!

I know the Subaru cars are fabulous, however, no salesman (and there were plenty) came up to ask if I needed help until my husband walked in 5 minutes later. And then they were all available to talk to him. Do a better job guys. That just may have cost you a sale.

I had a very good experience with one of the service dept techs today. Unfortunately did not get his name. He showed me how to put the wiper fluid that I purchased in my car. I also had a minor issue that he assisted me with. I appreciated the great customer service!

This dealership was my 1st appointment today.I test drove the Subaru Forester. It was nice. But, I didnt want to commit, because I wanted to test drive the Honda CR-V (My next stop.) They were very accommodating. I just enjoyed driving the CR-V more then the Forester. This was my personal choice.

I brought my car in a few weeks ago to have a fuel pump who placed and have my battery checked. After multiple tries they told me there was nothing wrong with my battery and that there was some corrosion on top of it. Three weeks later and the battery is dead again. When I open the hood to jump start it I found that they didnt clean the battery properly. That they sprayed something on top of the battery that sent corrosion flying everywhere under the Hood. I had to spend over an hour scrubbing to remove the corrosion from multiple parts of the engine.

A good place, with a first-rate selection of cars to choose from.  I dealt with Mike as Sales Consultant.  He is knowledgeable, decent, laid back.  He was very careful to provide me with accurate details about the car.  No baloney.  Tim, the manager, was helpful as well.  And the service department people are also very good.Highly recommended.

I was on vacation with my family, we had a rear brake noise. I typically do my own car repair and this would be something I normally fix myself. I didn’t want to have to work on vacation obviously. So I bought a new car at sunset and shortly after had a few issues with the car so I scheduled a appointment and brought the car in and with out hesitation the staff at sunset got right on it. The management and workers and sales people have met and exceeded my expectations.

Frank and Danny are the best service agents period. They truly care that the customer receives the best service. Never had to go back after the car repairs. Truly the best dealer and service I ever experienced.

Had 3 Subarus. Have been having them serviced here for years. Now I had a dead Subaru battery. There is an 85 month warranty (prorated) on the battery. It’s been 37 months. But they tell me the battery warranty is not valid because the car is out of warranty even though the battery has a sticker that says 85 month warranty and the Subaru batter pamphlet says 85 month warranty. It’s all a con. A shell game. I’m done with these clowns.

Factory Subaru dealer and service shop. Friendly staff and they do a good job, as do most of the Subaru dealers. Their prices are higher than independent shops, but that is to be expected from a place with factory trained mechanics. We take both our Subarus there and have had nothing to complain about. Free coffee, tea and snacks in the waiting room.

I had the pleasure of working with Danny Deangelis a few weeks back when I was in the market for new tires. He made me feel so comfortable and helped me understand all of the information he was providing me before I made the right purchase. He even got on the phone with my dad, who normally helps me when I have car trouble, to make sure all of his questions were answered as well. Danny went above and beyond to provide excellent service. I don’t live in the area, but if I did, I would love to be helped by Danny again.

Walked in to look at a wrx and to trade my car in. When I first walked in there were no salespeople around and I waited to find someone which was fine because I understand that dealerships are busy. Someone finally asked if they could help me and I said yes I was looking at the wrx and was wondering if I could test drive it. I was told no because they do not test drive those cars, which to me makes no sense and I found really hard to believe. I do not know anyone nor have I bought a car without test driving it before. Although at that point I just left because didn’t even make me interested in the car anymore if I wasn’t allowed to test drive it.

If the rating system allowed a 6-STAR OR HIGHER, I would have selected that. As a family member of Subaru owners (1985 - DATE), I feel Sunset Subaru sets the GOLD STANDARD for service! Currently four of us still own, dropped from 6 because of DEALER service issues! I wish the many Subaru Service dealers Ive used in the past (in the Northeast) would send their service personnel to this dealer for training.SUPERB ... and fair pricing. AND, GET THIS, they washed the car as part of their overall service! They were SEASONALLY EXTREMELY busy but did not skimp on attention, courtesy OR on friendliness.They should be recognized as OUTSTANDING by Subaru of America.

I purchased my used car from Sunset auto and had a great experience with Tom Brown as my sales associate. Since the buying experience was so easy I figured Id give the service department a try. I called and made an appointment to have my oil changed at the Subaru service center and glad I did. They were right on time and had it done in under 30 minutes. They noticed I had a nail in my tire and gave me some options on what to do. After deciding it was best to get a new one they ordered it and had it installed the next day. I cant say enough about the service team there. I now have our other car serviced there and highly recommend you give them a try!

Family member recently purchased a vehicle from this Subaru dealer. Great customer service as well as complimentary pastries and water bottles. The prices are average but is made up for by the excellent staff. Would recommend!
