I have done business with Thearles Autowerks in the past with excellent work. I went there and asked about an issue with my truck. They suggested good competitors who could meet my needs even though it meant losing my business. I was impressed with their excellent customer service and integrity. I highly recommend them to anyone.
They did a great job on my vehicle, my mustang was hit on the passenger door, they got a new door and painted and everything. It looks like original if not better
I took my car there for rear pumper damage. They replaced it, but made a mistake installing the camera lens in it . I took it back, they “fixed it”. A little while later l had the same problem, l took it back to them, they wanted $300 to fix it again.
It has been weeks and they say the have sent an estimate to my insurance company after numerous requests. If you dont care how long they take to fix your car this is the place to go to. They still have not ordered the parts needed and undoubtedly will blame the delay on the company providing the parts. They estimated the work would be completed a week ago.. They also do not return phone calls.
This by far has been the best place i have ever taken a car to for body repair they hold your hand the hole time work with your difficulty Insurance companies better than anyone else could do.If your looking for a good fix go here. 😆
The job took awhile but I took my car to them because they do a better job than most shops. I just picked it up and its perfect!
The place was very friendly and helpful when I arrived there. I was helped right away and given a ride home. I look forward to seeing what kind of work they do. From the vehicles that I saw their it seems they do very good work I like I said once my vehicle is repaired then Ill be able to speak more on it the right now so far Im very happy with the service I received!
The worst place to take your car once you leave your its hard to get back they all lying i even told them that i work as an uber driver and i need my car to get back to work they never care they just giving you date to date

We brought our car here a few months ago after it had been rear ended. When we brought it in they were kinda helpful but when we came 2 weeks later to pick up the car it was a different story. We walked in to pick up our car and the girl in the photo that I attached just gives us a survey to fill out and says shell bring our car. When she came back with our car she doesnt explain anything about the work or warranty like she did with the customer before us and just says heres your keys your car is outside. And then next is where the problems begin, I do a walk around on the car and notice a long scratch on the roof that wasnt there when we dropped off the car. So we go to tell them and also mention that she didnt tell us about the work on the car and that its nice she told the other customer but not us and all shes says is its the same. Someone else then comes out to look at the scratch and says yeah jeez idk, I mean we didnt do any work to the roof and I point out that there is rubbing compound or wax on the roof. His response now is oh yeah I guess they might have tried to clean the roof to see if it matched the new paint. So the result was we had to wait 3 more days for it so they could repaint the roof cause the scratch went through to the color. In the end it took a month to get our car back and learned that customer service doesnt exist here . I wont come here again if my cars get damaged so hopefully you dont have to learn the way we did.
We brought our car in after some bad luck on a road trip. We ran over a dead deer that was in the middle of the road. We didnt know the extent of the damage until we got home and had it looked at by autowerks. My insurance covered it so all seemed good. When I picked up my car I did not notice anything until I got it up on a lift approx 1 month later. The front bumper cover was replaced. When going up on the lift I noticed a slight ripple in a few spots, and looking a little deeper I notice there was a brake line shield that was bent and the lower control arm still had a little goo from the deer. When I took the car in to be looked at they immediately went on the defensive and said that we had to of hit something, now there was no scratches nor missing paint in that area. The bumper has a defect. My wife nor I have driven the car much since the road trip due to the fact she works from home for now during covid. I explained to them that neither of us has hit anything with the exception of a scratch on the bottom side of the bumper from scraping a curb. There is also a scrape on the bottom side of the car but no where in the area of the damage, but they still say we had to of hit something. I will never take my vehicles to them again and I suggest that when you pick up your car if you take it there to have them put it up on a lift and inspect every inch of the car.

Great people and very knowledgeable and helpful in dealing with the insurance company. Even though they were not an approved garage for my insurance company they worked with me, advocated for what was right, and they will warranty their work - with that being said they fixed a few of our other cars (hit a coyote in the dessert, one got hit by a dessert wind storm and another in a parking garage) and none of the cars had ever had to go back for the covered work; good work the first time is even better than a warranty.
I had a great experience with this body shop. Their price beat out another body shop in Kearny, Mesa. Also they made my damaged bumper look like new again and their service was fast. I would highly recommend this auto body shop.

I have been an Autowerks customer on several occasions and I must say they do amazing work! My Benz is my baby, so when I recently got into a collision, I didn’t want it sent to any old place that my insurance recommended so they could get away with paying the bare minimum even though it wasn’t in my or my cars best interest... Instead I sent it to Autowerks where I knew that they would fight for me to get my car repaired the right way. They will give you weekly updates along the way so you know exactly where you are in the repair process at all times. When I got my car back, it was flawless and as good as new!
Philip Thearles always treated me with complete respect, even when I was pointing out concerns or issues with the work. My Porsche has a very challenging color to match. To make matters worse, I am very picky and can easily spot most imperfections. It took some time to dial the color in and make it blend in well. They worked with me throughout the entire process, never showing any anger or disgust over my feedback. The finished product looks great, with both color and texture blending in with the factory paint. I am a happy customer and feel good about giving them my business.Also, their shop is the cleanest body shop I have ever seen.
I took my 2008 Mini Cooper S here after it was side swiped by another car, while I was driving on the freeway. Philip Thearles did a great job on repairing my vehicle. Color matching was perfect. Everything looked great. They really made my car look brand new again. Repair was done pretty quickly. From my first step inside the building to bringing my car home after checking it, Everyone had the up-most professional attitude to get everything fixed and resolved. When you want to go to an absolutely flawless auto body repair shop with five star service this is where are you come to. I had an unfortunate incident at a car show where my car was in an accident while I was parked where a trailer took out the whole side of my vehicle. I took my car into this beautiful facility and was assigned Don who was my representative throughout my experience. Don handled everything from dealing with an adjuster who didn’t really want to fix everything as required to the final delivery of the car back to me. I am a car collector and I must tell you the job they did on my car was breathtaking in every way. These people really care about the job they do and their pride in workmanship shines through in every way. Do yourself a favor and the next time you need any body work at all take it to this establishment and you won’t be sorry. They turned a bad experience into an awesome outcome!
Legendary customer service! I just picked up my Audi that was there for almost a month and required 2 claims with 2 different insurance carriers. Chad was so proactive in communicating with me and set my expectations appropriately. He managed the 2 claims so seamlessly. I honestly felt like I was their only customer. They run a great shop!

My 2012 chevy tahoe has been to this repair shop twice and I would never take my car anywhere else. In the past I have used other body shops with my first car and man that was a mistake! I wish I could give more than 5 stars to this body shop because five stars does not do them justice in my opinion. They deserve at least ten stars! Very very nice people, communicate everything going on with the car, and is a one stop from repair, and rental. Cant say enough great things about this place!
My experience today was great. I had a bad experience elsewhere and Donald put my mind at ease about fixing my car. My Cadillac is my baby and has significant sentimental value. Best Auto Body shop I have ever used. Honest and upfront on what needed to be done. Top Quality work, (beautiful paintjob), done on time and they handled all the paperwork with the insurance company. Oh, and a warranty that cant be beat.
This place allows insurance company claims agents, to work in their offices, under the guise of Autowerks employees. Brought my van in for an estimate from Philip Thearles, after Lloyds gave me an estimate for $2200, and the State Farm employee, who was supposed to be a Thearles person, wrote an estimate for $1100. This is price fixing, and some of these auto body shops accept the reduced rate work, as something discounted, is better than nothing, and it takes the work out of other body shops hands, because they wont work for the reduced rates.Imagine you run a business, and give a customer an estimate, and their insurance company guides them to your competitors, who agrees to charge less than you, and you lose that customer.Philip, you were known for quality work. Now I see you as a price undercutter.Good for you, as thats a pretty nice place youve got to keep going. And, I get it, but dont agree with the ethics. Maybe you can at least identify these insurance company estimate writers, as not your employees.UPDATE EDIT.Spoke with Phil this afternoon, 4-3-2019Its really the insurance company, State Farm to blame here, as they are truly the ones steering their insured to these shops. Phil rents out a space to State Farm, and its State Farm playing the game, not the body shop.Phil has always had a good reputation, and it is somewhat unfair to bash him, for the insurance companys shenanigans.As far as State Farm goes, I took it to one of State Farms preferred vendors, said Id pay for the repairs myself, and State Farms recommended shop, wrote an estimate for $2600.00. And State Farm paid me that amount.By taking the State Farm claims writer out of the loop, I recieved a legitimate estimate, not chump change.Phil runs a good operation, and I believe he has the customers best interest at heart.
I just had my vehicle repaired after a collision. All the staff is courteous but Donald is very thorough and does his due diligence to make certain that the whole vehicle is thoroughly inspected and fully repaired. I will only use this business in the future. Thank you

Very helpful as it was my first time in a situation that called for car cosmetics. Everyone is professional and ensures that you leave satsified. There was a flaw in a couple areas, in which they were quick to take care of. Car looks as new. Highly rec.
I still cant believe what they did to my car. Went in for an estimate and they took crowbars and pried the back and sides of the car open (the sheet metal that had no damage). They did more damage than the accident caused. Then you are stuck and have to have them fix it.Never had a shop destroy my car like that to give an estimate.I have never had a shop do any damage to write up an estimate.Scam artists!!BEWARE!!!!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!
Got my BMW small paint job done on rear bumper, looks brand new thanks to everyone at Phillip Thearles. I see some negative comments so would like to suggest that if you have proper insurance you dont have to worry. Please dont judge this place from those negative comments.

Donald and the team at Phil thearles Autowerks are fantastic. My experience was an insurance nightmare. Dealing with this nightmare was an issue that the shop and I dealt with together. Donald made sure and kept me up to date with the process and was patient in waiting for Wawanesa to make a decision. Not once did I get any pressure or grief about my car being at the shop for about 2 months just taking up space. Once Wawanesa finally made their determination, it only took about 3 weeks to finish and almost 20k repair. The car look absolutely perfect and Im very picky to say the least. I couldnt be happier. I was referred to Phillip Thearles Autowerks (PTA) through a luxury car dealership that I take my Jaguar in for service. It was a redo from another body shop that had dropped the ball due an acquisition during the time of repair. I am represented by a major insurance company that agreed to pay the cost incurred. After 7 weeks, my vehicle was finally finished and returned to me. Unfortunately, prior to release, my vehicle had not been subjected to a quality control inspection. The car was dirty and the drivers side rear door interior panel was not reinstalled correctly... there was a gap between it and the window. I called and complained to the owner, Phillip Thearle. The issues were addressed and corrected within a few days afterwards. About three weeks ago, I then notice that drivers side front door interior panel was beginning to vibrate/rattle when driving over rougher road surfaces. This panel had also been removed and replaced during the earlier service. I tried reaching my original PTA contact, Paul Shide without much success. When he did finally call back, he promised to work with me by arranging a time for my vehicle to be brought back into the shop. He stated that he would call me on an agreed day to set this up. That day has passed and I havent heard back from him in almost a week. I even left numerous messages on his cellular, with PTAs receptionist for both him and the owner. Neither see the urgency to call back or to honor their warranty commitment. Very poor customer service indeed! I have recently informed the car dealerhip whom referred me and my insurance company of my ongoing difficulties. If it continues, I will be forced to confer with my attorney for legal action.
This place is terrible!!!! just terrible, my truck got hit while i was at wk, so i called this place to make sure i can send my truck over on a tow truck, they say yeah no problem, so i did then called again to make sure it was there, yes it was ok, no problem, they send me an email with an authorization so they can inspect the truck, not repair, not to go and buy parts, just to inspect the truck, my insurance shows up after a couple day give me an estimate, i said on let see what this place says, b4 that happen something came up, that i had to take my truck out and cash out, note: i at this point i havent got an estimate from this place yet, so i called and ask if its ok to pick up my truck, the receptionist said yeah, let me just make sure and i will call you back, ok she called back and tell me i have to pay $361 dls to get my truck out, fees for this and that etc, i understand they may have charge me something but that much, omg, and i was never aware of this fees from the beginning, even the girl in the front didnt even know, restoking fees for parts? really how? i never authorize anything why are you ordering parts? never got an estimate!! the owner at this place is just big i mean BIG liar, DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE, if something goes wrong, you will be on your own STAY AWAY....

State farm insurance sent me here the lady that helped me was short and walked a way from me and at that point is when I did this review for her I also let her know I was going to do a review she shrugged it off and walked away so that is why you get a 1 starDont go here you dont have to go here you can go anywhere you want to go completely ridiculous I would not send my worst enemy here you make an appointment you got an email confirmation you show up and then they tell you they cant help you makes me feel real great about having them work on my car they cant get that right then what else they going to get wrong
Scam beware!!!! You been warned! Insurance told us to take car here get estimate, well its at $7500 for auto body and paint lol on a Prius??? Now they tell insurance that only parts of the damage were due to a crash, and that I had to pay the amount myself wow!!!!
