Im sure this shop is great for smog. They advertise other services as well and the shop is conveniently located across from our favorite fuel station. So I called to make an appointment to have our 35 tires balanced for a Dodge ram 2500 The young lady on the phone kept quoting smog prices. I had to keep repeating tires balanced several times. She quoted $60 and up for rotating tires. I repeated tires balanced, ONLY balanced. She quoted $60 and up. Then asked what tires do I prefer? What the heck does that even mean?? Im just trying to have our existing tires balanced.I should have paid attention to the red flags and not made the appointment because my bf had to leave work early to take the truck in and they immediately unplugged his computer and started to smog it!! My bf had to repeatedly state he only needs his tires balanced. Then the gentleman took one off and couldnt balance it because it was too big. He already knew his machine could only handle a certain size wheel so why did he even try??Im sorry, Im sure they are nice people, but it was a sh*t show and you should go there for smog but probably nothing else.

Need my diesel Smog and did a quick job if it. I also like that dont charge you extra for carb legal parts. My last shop I ask about if they do it. It was like 10 buck for each device. And I have cold air box, intake pipe, cat back exhaust, and the I gauge tuner all CA legal with the sticker . It it carb legal I dont see why the extra charge . But not here . It nice to fine a good shop that doesnt try to gouge you.

These guys did a great job. I scheduled an appointment and as soon as I got there they began my smog check. I anticipated being there for at least an hour but I was out of there in about 20 minutes. I bought a sandwich with me to eat while I waited and they had the smog check done before I could even finish my sandwich. I will be going here for smog checks from now on and would definitely recommend this place to others. Been going to these guys for years. Just bought a 89 F-150, they were the only smog place in Sonoma county that could do the job and had great customer service. Every other smog place I went to were too lazy to use the dyno on my old truck so I will continue taking my vehicles to Hensley

These folks are honest and do good work.The place is a total dive and hopefully they will find a better location at some point but they do good work and seem to be fair on prices.If you can get around the slum look of the place I would trust them with your auto repair.A bit of a diamond in the rough. I first went to Hensley Auto to have my Dads truck smogged, thats where I met Caitlyn at the front desk. The truck was done in a few minutes, literally, while I was checking out I asked about my car and getting it smogged and repaired because there were some issues, Caitlyn said bring it in, She was the first to help me to times.Well there were issues, two codes having to do with some sensors that were connected with the Catalytic converter, thats whe I met the owner who was working the desk. This would be when I came back from driving it after the first repair. Eric helped me when I came back with the second code that he warned me, might show up and after driving after the repair, the code showed. Finally, the two issues were fixed, so I drove and 10 miles into the drive the check engine light came on again, just to let you know in the back of my mind I had a feeling it might be the Catalytic converter and it was.Eric, Caitlyn, another gal, whose I cant recall, and one on the technicians were very open and honest about the problems with my car, Eric also checked my fuses, replaced a bulb, tried to get my cd player unstuck, and filled my tires. With all the issues, they took care of them and were kind and patient with me. They are great.

Great staff very friendly and helpful. They offer repairs if youre not passing smog and can help with BAR wavers of smog repair costs. They also offer free re-test if you fail the first test. Worked great for me, I just drive down the interstate for about 5 miles and back and had them test it again hot with better gas with good additives. I dont recommend mentioning additives to the tech if youre using them to pass and Im not sure if youre allowed to add certain things that actually work.

Fair prices and a friendly and knowledgeable staff. They are open on Saturdays for people who work during the week which is great. I always feel like Im being treated fairly and never pressured to go with a more expensive fix on my car. I took my sons 94 jeep in for a star smog test. All the other shops i had called wanted to charge an extra fee due to the age of the vehicle. But not here! Not only did the other shops quote me $76 and $85 per smog test! Here at Hensleys it was only $45. if you mention the online $20 off coupon and that includes the certificate.!!! I will be bringing all my vehicles here to Hensley when smog test are due.

I happened upon this shop by accident about a year ago when another smog shop in town tried to take advantage of me by saying I needed unnecessary repairs totaling 300$, just on visual inspection. After replacing a 5$ hose piece I took my vehicle to Hensley Auto And Smog for a retest, upon my vehicle being inspected they determined my vehicle was fine and the other shop was definetly trying to take advantage of my lack of knowledge, jeez what kind of crooks some people can be.Finding a versatile and honest mechanic can be very hard these days and since my visit to Hensley Auto, I have sent all my auto repair business to these guys. They are not just a smog shop as you would be led to believe, they are a full repair shop and can help you with most every need, always fairly quoting price, making sure to work with my budget, fixing necessary stuff before worrying about the unnessesary. I even moved a few hundred miles away in the last couple months and try to schedule my repair needs on my visit to Santa Rosa. Hands down would recommend to anyone needing repairs small to large .Good honest mechanics are hard to find and I have nothing but great things to say about Mr. Hensley and his team of technicians, a truly hidden mechanical gem in a sea of shady mechanics. If you need an honest opinion and a great repair, I hope your results are as good as mine have been AAA +++
