I left a insurance company that I had been with for 30 years because of their poor customer service. I researched a few companies and once I talked with Ken, I felt excited and confident to make the change to State Farm. Ken was both professional and personable. He explained the options clearly and went over everything that I had questions about. From his questions, he was able to get a good picture of what options would best serve me. He was well organized not only in helping me figure out what I needed but also in walking me thru the processstep by step to get the policy started. I bought my first vehicle in California, and needed insurance. I decided to get an agent: if I ever needed to use my insurance, I wanted someone I had a personal relationship with to represent my interests, rather than getting stuck in Phone Tree Hell with a nameless/faceless call center representative. My family had had good experiences with State Farm in Nevada, so I gave them a try here. But I didnt know any agents here, so I googled it.Unfortunately, the first agent I found was not Erika. It was a mini-empire where I never actually met the agent. The two people who wrote up my policy were no longer there a few months later. I later discovered they lied to me about my coverage.I met Erika at a motorcycle rally put on by my dealer. She was just starting her practice. I liked that she understood motorcycles, and that Id met her in person. My dealer endorsed her. I called State Farm and switched agents. Im very glad I did.Erika is exactly what you want an insurance agent to be. Shes worked in the business a long time: her mastery is obvious, and shes happy to take the time to explain things to you. When bureaucrats denied my claim, she fought back on my behalf and got it accepted. Shell recommend policies based on her experience, but she honors your wishes: she never tries to upsell you. She knows my name and my bike, and shes always got a smile in her voice when I give her a call.I wanted an agent to be my agent: to understand things on my behalf and fight for my interests when I had a claim.
