Mark brought back to life a recordio-gram my dad sent to my mom from boot camp in 1949. Pretty neat to hear his voice at that age and to have another insight into their lives during that period of time. Priceless:)The disks werent very good quality. Produced on cardboard with a coating that was cracked from the years. To my surprise, he was able to retrieve it.Thanks a million Mark!

I recently discovered a very old cassette tape with a duet of a former Minister of Music and myself that I wanted to try to preserve in some way. I decided to see if the recording on it could be transferred to a thumb drive. In a google search I found Audio Restorations and contacted the owner. I received a very prompt reply and the next step was to send him the tape and a couple of empty thumb drives. I had an ADAT tape that was inaccessible on my own equipment and the equipment of two other professional extraction companies. Audio Restorations was able to extract the files from the tape - unheard for 25 years! Highly recommended.

I found a really cool old cassette tape of family members made with a portable recorder back when they were kids in 1974. It made a constant clickety clack noise when played, and I only got through one side before the tape broke. Mark reattached the leader and replaced the reel hubs. The tape works perfectly now. He also did a digital transfer of it which is absolutely magnificent. Im in awe he was able to achieve such a high level of audio quality from such a poor source. The price was totally reasonable and Mark is a super nice and guy.

Sent a soundtrack on a cassette tape and video on VHS of an art show performance we did back in 1989 . Mark did an excellent job of restoring and transferring to CD and DVD . I have been holding onto a cassette tape from 1974, hoping that ONE day, I would be able to find someone to fix it! Had a priceless family cassette tape from the late 70s that was no longer playable...only recording of me and my sisters as small children with our Mom.I first sent the cassette tape to a different restoration/digitalization service. In 1975 I briefly worked at WWCT Radio in Peoria, Illinois and have held on to some air checks and commercials I did at that time. I kept the masters on reel to reel tape wanting to transfer them to a format in todays technology. I hadnt heard them in 45 years. I looked on line several times over the years not really finding any place to do it that I felt comfortable with. I visited the Audio Restoration site and then spoke with Mark and then sent him my tapes. I was skeptical they could even be saved because years ago I had found a reel to reel machine and listened to them. There were intermittent audio lapses throughout and I thought the tapes were too deteriorated to save. I almost discarded them. When the original tapes and new cds were returned to me I was amazed at the quality of the sound. It was if they had just been recorded yesterday. Its was awesome at age 65 to be able to have my children hear what I sounded like on the radio at age 21. Thank you Audio Restorations for allowing me and my family to take a cool trip in the Way Back Machine. And the price was fair and reasonable.

I found an old tape that had recordings of my great grandmother on it. I had never heard it and as soon as I put it in my last remaining cassette player, the tape broke from the spool.So, I sent it to Audio restorations. They repaired the cassette and put the contents on an mp3 file on a thumb drive for me. All this for a little over $54 and change. Well worth the price to preserve such an important piece of family history.I highly recommend their service should you find need of it.

Literally saved a couple of Songs in the Attic. I could not even find a studio in Nashville that would perform the service of transferring from DAT to MP3. I recommend Mark without qualification! I needed someone to digitize a large collection of old cassette tapes. These are ethnographic recordings that are precious not only to me, but to the indigenous community in Brazil where they were made in 1981-83.I was hesitant to entrust these irreplaceable recordings to anyone. They were old, fragile, and might be damaged if not handled with care.Mark did a spectacular job, converting them to digital files using archival specs recommended by my museum. They sound great.The community is thrilled that they have preserved historical narratives and traditional stories as told by old chiefs and other elders who have since departed. I cant say enough about the service that was provided to us. After Googling 8 track tape restoration, we found Mark and Audio Restorations. I have an old 8 track player that we tried to play this tape on, which is my wifes grandfather telling his life story. After about 10 minutes of listening, the splice came loose and the machine started eating the tape. Of course, I tried to see if I could put it back together again, and no, I cant. LOL. I contacted Mark and he asked me to ship it to him. Now, picture this if you can, we carefully rolled the loose tape onto a toilet paper roll and left the remainder on the spool. Our tape came back to us on the cassette, along with a copy of it on a CD. The sound quality is as if you were sitting nearby listening to him actually talk back in the late 1960s. Amazing. I am very much more than pleased with the truly excellent work performed. There were a number of unique problems with my tapes requiring special attention and out-of-the-ordinary handling. All my problems were solved expeditiously.

Had several ~20 year old mini-cassettes which my player played back with horrible screeching and sometimes just barely audible other audio. Audio-Restorations handled two of my projects, and handled both superbly!!I had four VHSs of live music, dating back to the late 80s and early 90s--three of live concert footage and another of a TV show featuring bands and singer/songwriters. Mark transferred all four of these videos to DVD format without a hitch! No snow, no image flutter or flipping, not the slightest hint of static or degradation, and no drop outs! -- and the audio transfer was equally stellar -- watching and hearing these DVDs is as if the shows had all just been recorded last week, rather than over a quarter of a century ago!!The other project was an LP-to-CD conversion, including extremely difficult to reproduce B&W photo art from the LP jacket -- Mark transferred the LP so well that in some respects he actually enhanced its professional production! and duplicated the LP cover art to a tee!!I can not recommend Audio-Restorations highly enough! My mom found this handmade record dated May 20, 1945. It is labeled as a letter on both sides from my Grandmother and Great-Grandmother on my fathers side, to my Grandfather while he served in WWII. At first this was just a precious momento of family that I deeply cherished. But I realized that it might be possible to have the audio converted to digital so that I could hear their voices. I did a lot of research and found Mark @ Audio Restorations. I was a little nervous about sending off irreplaceable family history to a complete stranger, but honestly right from the start, Mark was so professional and forthcoming; he is very up front about the process and the pricing and he commits to stand behind his work. Mark confirmed the day he received the record and I was bowled over when he sent me an email to tell me that, although the record was age damaged, he was able to lift off the audio. He was careful to keep my expectations reasonable. Today 1000 Christmases were in my mail box. I couldnt wait to open the box and start listening. The voices are clear, despite the crackling from background noise and no doubt quality of the original equipment. I recently reconnected with a friend who I played in a band with around 1982. He had some old cassette tapes of us but the tapes were not playable. Recently I found ancient audio cassettes that contained my late Dads voice. These recordings were made in 1971 on cheap tapes, so of course they were damaged, seemingly beyond repair. I thought I would never hear Dads voice again. However, I mailed the tapes to Audio Restorations, where they were repaired and transferred. Now I can hear him whenever I want (along with a few surprises, such as me at age 11 singing - yikes!). Priceless.

I used Audio Restorations to make copies of several cassette tapes from the 1970s. One tape was broken; the audio quality of the tape that worked was terrible. Mark repaired the broken tape and made CDs, both of which have clear, easy to hear audio on them. I highly recommend Audio Restorations and would definitely use Mark again.

I found 4 audio cassettes that had been recorded by my deceased father back in 1983. I was assured that they would be carefully enhanced and then transferred, in sequence, to 4 CDs. I paid Mark $180 for the process. He told me they were completed and in the mail. What I received was my 4 original cassettes and 4 CDs. BUT the CDs were 2 with some woman speaking in Spanish and the other 2 were completely BLANK. I contacted him right away and he said he was making accurate copies and putting them in the mail. What I received this time is a terrible mix of inconsistent parts of my cassettes on 4 CDs. Stay away from this loser!!!!!

Great company. I sent in 20 damaged Mini DV tapes and they repaired them all and placed the files on a new 3 TB external HD. The repairs are undetectable and the new hard drive works perfectly. I highly recommend them.

Mark did a great job repairing four extremely old and broken audio cassettes that a local firm had been unable to fix. Hes a real wizard!

I have used A.R. for 6-8 projects now, both large and small. I have not bothered looking anywhere else thanks to how easy to work with Mark (the proprietor) is and his incredibly reasonable pricing. He always seems to say, Sure, I can do that. So far, Ive had him transfer cassette tapes, mini dv, AND vhs to cd, dvd, AND an external hard drive. All these old, cherished recordings are now in multiple convenient formats, and most importantly, are safe from the elements of wear and tear.
