I worked with Devon on Ray Lyons team. She is extremely knowledgeable and patient for 1st time home buyers. I never felt under pressure and she definitely guided me in the right direction. This review is long overdue. It’s no surprise to see all of Ray’s 5 star reviews. Ray helped my family sell a buy a replacement property a few years ago. It was a tricky sale involving a 1031 exchange and we had very little time to sell our property and identify a replacement property. With Ray’s expertise and marketing we were able to get an all cash offer within only 5 days of being on the market. He helped us negotiate favorable terms and got the buyer to participate in the exchange. There were lots of moving pieces in this deal and within 15 days our place was sold and we were in escrow on a replacement property. This whole process (selling -to- closing, purchasing replacement property -to- closing) took less than 40 days! Ray was involved in all parts of this transaction and he went out of his way to make sure it was a quick and easy transition. We could not have done this without Ray or his team. Just to clarify I almost never write any reviews, but because Ray was such a great agent I felt it necessary to share.1.) A few days after I called Ray to say that I need an agent to buy an apartment we met up for coffee to discuss. I told him this was my first purchase and also being originally from NY I wanted to know the entire process that is entailed in buying a condo. He spent over two hours with me going over all the details and any questions I had. This already gave me a good feeling that he really cares for each of his clients.2.) I discussed with Ray exactly the criteria I was looking for and he set me up with an automated email every time a property that fit my criteria was put on the market. I was very picky with my criteria and Ray understood it could take awhile to find my perfect place but he was very patient and understanding.3.) Ray is probably the top three most responsive people I know. Every time I emailed or called him he would get back to me latest within the hour, but most time within ten minutes. He would also get back to me if I emailed him at night.4.) During my almost 1 year search I saw more than 30 apartments and I made two offers on other apartments that I was outbid. It was a blessing I didnt get it because the apartment that I live in now is much better than the other two I bid. The irony is that the apartment that I purchased was an off market pocket listing. This means that it was not available to the public and Ray had the connections to get a hold of this listing. If I was with some other random agent I would never have known about this.5.) All in all Ray is just an extremely professional person, really nice and understanding, and treats you like hes youre good friend. Ray helped me put together a deal with a prickly seller that I had negotiated with as a principal several weeks earlier but the deal had fallen apart. I contacted Ray on the 4th of July and he had on offer on the sellers agents desk on July 5 and a fully signed deal on July 6. After that, Ray connected me with all of the necessary players (lender, inspector, etc.) and we got the deal done in 35 days. The entire process was virtually seamless. Like many of the other reviews, we found Ray on Yelp. We live in San Francisco and needed to sell our condo in Westwood (next to UCLA). From the very first phone call, Ray came across as a knowledgeable, non-BS guy who quickly responded to any question and promptly did what he said he was going to do.He took care of EVERYTHING. We never met Ray in person, nor did we come down to LA during this entire process. He communicated with our tenants (whose lease was ending), staged the house, arranged (and paid for) the photographer, arranged (and AGAIN PAID FOR out of his pocket) a gardener to plant flowers outside the building to improve curb appeal, and even fixed a stuck sink garbage disposal.In the end: Listed for less than 2 weeks, ALL CASH OFFER FOR OVER ASKING PRICE with an escrow closing perfectly on the day after our tenants moved out.We recommend him and will definitely use him to sell our other condo in the area... Maybe well even meet him one day!

Going with him as our realtor was the best decision we made after deciding to move to LA.Ray was everything we were looking for in realtor, knowledgeable, friendly, responsive, tech savvy, and insightful. Consider also that we were moving from over 400 miles away, he made the entire process as easy as it could be for us. The few times that we were available in the area, he made sure we made the most of our time. He even went out of his way to show us around the area when we were in between showings. My husband & I honestly dont believe we would have found a condo. in North of Wilshire neighbourhood if it hadnt been for Ray. We were working w/another agent--an experienced, competent, lovely guy, but he simply wasnt networked SaMo/this area, & since supply was so tight, & demand so high, wed go to open houses where there were already offers over asking price when we walked in when the open house just started!We were discouraged & very concerned, & realized wed have to find another agent who knew the area very well. Enter Ray! I Googled SaMo real estate agents on Yelp, & he got great reviews, w/lots of specificity of how hed had helped prospective buyers, what hed done to seal the deal, & so he seemed like a logical choice for us.The afternoon we met him at a brokers open house, we fell in love w/the place & decided to make an offer. With Rays help, his knowing the sellers gents, being experienced about the CA home-buying process, our bid was accepted, & we are the new recent owners of a beautiful townhouse condo. It was certainly NOT due to the lender, with whom we had not positive experience, & weve owned 3 homes before, so we didnt go into the process as neophytes.Ray negotiated on our behalf with the sellers, he found us a good deal on homeowners insurance since wed moved out of state, & helped w/the escrow process. When he was involved along the way from offer to sale, things just went more smoothly.Its our experience that your agent must be your advocate-100%--& Ray was certainly that for us during this pretty stressful process.

Ray is outstanding and we have already recommended him without hesitation to our friends.Things we love about Ray:-Very responsive and punctual -- He always got back to us immediately by phone or email, even when out of business hours or on the weekend, and was always on time, or more frequently, early to our meetings when looking out houses, etc.-Good knack for the business -- With each place we seriously considered, he accurately predicted what the place would go for which was a big help when considering what to offer. Especially in this market where everything is going for above asking, it became reassuring to be able to trust his instinct and avoid that icky did we spend too much feeling. Nope, no icky feelings.-Proactive -- The place we ultimately found, Ray sent us the listing immediately after it came out, visited the place himself before we saw it, told us how much he thought we would like it, and talked to the selling agent and made a good impression on her (as she later remembered both him and us when we went to visit). This is with me scouring the internet on a daily basis -- I had not yet seen this place listed. Soon after, we went to visit and Ray had been spot on about our tastes and now we own the place! He also is proactive in talking to the other agents (eg finding out how much other offers were, etc). And during the escrow process, got us a $2000 credit for minor repairs that will cost much much less.-Not pushy -- We found a place in our budget and never felt pressured to look for more expensive places even though Ray knew we were pre-approved on our loan for more. We were also outbid on two places prior to finding our ultimate home (that we like better anyway... funny how things work out) and decided to let them go because it was more than we wanted to spend, and Ray never once pushed us to go above our comfort level.-Has connections -- not just with other realtors (many of the other listing agents were people Ray had worked with before and was friendly with) but with contractors too. And they all like him.-Treats you like a friend.Initially, at the beginning of the process, despite being first time buyers, I thought do we REALLY need a realtor? I know how to use the internet. YES YOU NEED A REALTOR, AND A GOOD ONE. In 4 months, this very picky budget conscious couple found and bought a place that we are very happy with and our friends told us we made it look so easy. I recommend Ray, he is great!!
