Terrible dealership and service! My sister recently bought a vehicle from these guys and for starters the advertised the wrong price for the vehicle. Later they made it right and bought the car. They said they would have it serviced and detailed but its now three days and still hasnt gotten it done. Bunch of excuses from the service department for the delays. Very unacceptable. Drive the extra mile and go to Sunset Honda. The service is 100x better then these jokers. Will never buy a vehicle at SM Honda ever!

Woof, I had a terrible auto repair service experience at Honda of Santa Maria. Unbelievably sloppy workmanship and poor customer service at checkout (waited 45 minutes). And to think... I let those guys replace the brake fluid.I could document a dozen issues with the service, but its not worth my time. Truly, we will never do business with them again.On the plus side, the floors were shiny. I wish the floor guy had serviced/repaired the car.

Dropped my vehicle off before 9am. Received a couple text messages saying everything was going as planned, last one just before 2pm. Then nothing. They closed without giving me an update or letting me know they were keeping my vehicle overnight. Very disappointed with this dealer. Had poor follow up service after purchasing my accord from them and now terrible service from their service department on our civic.

I recently bought a new 2022 Honda Insight from Honda Santa Maria. The entire process was painless! It started as a drop in to the dealership - on a whim - because there were cars on the lot (somewhat of a surprise during COVID shortages). We walking around a bit and then Marco Nieto came over to see if we needed any help. We chatted a bit (quite a charming young man) and looked and talked about cars...I mentioned I was looking for an electric or a hybrid. There was one on the lot, we took it for a test drive and then talked prices. My beau and I were very clear - we didnt want to be pressured or pay more than was reasonable. After some talk about the price, we were able to come to an agreement - but I wanted to think it over and decide the next day. Marco was super easy to work with - no pressure, not pushy, didnt try to up-sell at all. The next morning I decided to buy and Marco called me just as I was dialing him! We made plans to come in and complete the purchase. Once in the dealership, we worked with Angel Salazar about financing. I had a preapproved loan from my bank - Angel was able to match it with Capital One financing - also - an easy experience. Angel didnt pressure me to buy extra insurance or care packages - he explained them to me, he explained why I might want them but let me decide and accepted my decision gracefully.I cant say enough about what a pleasant experience the whole process was - I have told my friends and want everyone to know! Marco made the sale and Angel made it easy :)

Update June 2021: Its pretty clear to us that the Honda Dealership of Santa Maria sold us a Lemon and their attitude of you bought it, you are stuck with it seems to be part of their continued defence strategy. What is very concerning to us beyond their horrid treatment of us, their customer, is that they have refused to give us copies of the work orders and are withholding the paperwork that we would normally get after bringing the car in to get repaired for warranty issues. Nothing! Ive never had this happen in all of the car purchases our family has been involved with over the years. What is going on here. Is Corporate aware of this? Why havent we been listened to or contacted?The only reason I rated this dealership a one, is that there is no zero option. My daughter purchased a $50,000 vehicle from this dealership 9 months ago and they have done everything possible to convince us that the problems that the car has had from day one, are not their fault, and have blamed their workman, the manufacturer, and supervisors that they have fired. The cars body is not in alignment, due to a production failure in the particular model. This has resulted in, among other things in making an awful noise when you raise and lower the tailgate. Something the dealership will not admit to.I am disgusted at the way they have treated my daughter who has other challenges in raising a young family. She researched this vehicle and supposedly bought it because of its dependability, safety and family friendliness. Its almost like the dealership really doesnt care. Im amazed that they have the ratings that they have. I just want them to do right by my daughter. Offering to extend her warranty another year was a buy off, knowing she had no better choice, after the way they treated her.the manufacturer, their supervisors on and on.

Recently purchased a truck off Honda of Santa Maria, im an Honda certifed tech so i did what i have done all my life when purchasing a vehicle checked for oil leaks found an oil leak wich they agreed to fix, 3 days later started to stain my drive & not wanting to turn on so took it back and they threw in an engine dye and had me drive it for a few days but i couldnt because i cant even turn it off or it wont start so i asked to speak to the manager (SHANE CONWAY) wich he just told me sorry truck is used & as is & battery is $200+ & a install charge on top. Take in mind me & wife worked for Honda and contributed to Honda but he didnt seem to care besided making that $200 + sale. Before going to buy a used car there make sure you look under for leaks and ask for a pmi sheet of the full inspection or even better take it elsewhere have it checked out by your own mechanic or once you give them your $ and leave good luck if anything happens the next day.This is our 4th vehicle we buy of Honda but after this1 they have lost my business and ill share with family and friends to not buy there.(Shane) seemed not to care for customer he knew this was our 4th vehicle we have gotten from Honda and he knew wife and i worked for Honda & contibuted to company but didnt seem to care.(UPDATE) Wife spoke to Another manager there (ALEX GOMEZ) and Alex ordered our truck battery for us free of charge! & he is going to check on the oil leak as well, your Awesome Alex! Had such a positive experience here!!! Edward and Chris were so sweet and so so helpful/knowledgeable. When my old car died I was scared to look for a new one because I worried Id feel pressured into making a purchase I couldnt afford. That was not the case at all. I found my dream car for a great price and was literally treated like royalty. They were so incredibly accommodating I couldnt believe it. Highly highly recommend. It feels good to have a place I can trust and truly speaks to the SM community. Be very wary of this dealer, especially the finance department. I was sold a CPO car that was damaged, then repaired by the owner, which they stayed “we can sell a certified pre owned car that’s been damaged” like what? Why pay a premium price for a damaged car? I was able to return it, but I wasn’t able to get my car back, the manager said I needed to pick something and that they didn’t have all day. So I finally chose a 21 Honda Civic sport, which was around the same price as the CPO I returned. Well my interest rate on the CPO was 10%, perfect for me, with the brand new car, it jumped up to 14%, even with money down. When I asked the finance manager why that happened, he said “new cars have higher interest rates”. Feeling uneasy I still was unable to leave the dealership with my car, they were bullying me into buying something. Come to find out I could have had the civic ex, for the same amount per month. Too much shady business here. When I contacted Honda corporate, they said that my interest rate should not have changed and they were logging a formal complaint and investigation into why it happened to me. So before making ANY deal here, ask the questions, don’t be blind sided by things like I was. I wasn’t able to walk away, they forced me to find something and buy it. I can’t believe they are allowed to do this. Still waiting on them to amend my contract to show the original 10% finance fees and I won’t be answering their calls until that has been fixed.

I usually go to Acura of Santa Barbara and since Honda of Santa Maria is closer I thought I go them hoping that itd be cheaper. I was wrong, they charge for every little detail they do including just merely pressing a loose part to clip it back in, they make sure they charge for every penny. Now the thing is when I requested for them to clip a loose part back into place, they ended up removing my entire bumper and reattached everything using zip ties. During my drive the piece under it completely broke off and was dragging underneath my car. I called up Dave on a sunday and left a message to let him know that whatever his mechanics did ended up breaking my car and to call me back. I never receive that call back.

So first off I want to say that in the beginning everything was great. They had the car I was looking for in my favorite color. I spoke with Marco (salesmen) and he did a great job of communicating and talking real big by stating he would even bring the car to me that I was looking into purchasing. This was exciting because we lived 180 miles away and I told him that my wife and I have excellent credit so this will not be a problem. The only issue was our trade had negative equity. But once again Marco assured me everything would be great with no worries. So with that my wife and I let them run our credit and punch numbers. Marco saw how good our credit was and said everything is good just trying to make sure they can give top dollar for the trade in. Marco gave us exact payment details of what we would be looking like. At this point it looks like we should have a deal. Then all of a sudden things shifted where now they cant bring the car over to me, they want me to drive to them (which is not a problem) but they mentioned that the kind of car I have tells them that I was a shady person (not exact words, paraphrase). I couldnt believe this considering how good everything was at first. Then it got worse when out of no where right when my wife and I was going to drive down there since they thought I was lying I guess, we get a call from their financial manager. He tells me very rudely the new numbers that were totally different than Marcos numbers. It was more expensive with a higher APR and I said this is not what Marco told us, and he said Marco didnt run numbers. So I replied, Marco straight up lied then??? He said I dont know why he told you that and said this is the deal with no other options. I hung up with him and was devastated. Then 2 days later, YES 2 DAYS LATER Marco texts me saying that the financial manager who called was not the guy he was working with and the guy he was waiting for is now available if we still want to do it. Now at this point with this kind of treatment we can all tell who is the real shady one? By this time we have looked elsewhere. So I tell him thank you but take us off your marketing team please. Then a week later in the mail we get the statements from the credit reporting agency in the mail stating that they were putting in a whole different total amount than what the car was worth. THESE PEOPLE ARE SHADY AND I AM TELLING YOU UNLESS YOU ARE THERE IN PERSON DO NOT WORK WITH THEM OVER THE PHONE.

Recalls; just that word is kind of ominous. We arrived driving my work buddys truck .. the whole experience was rather pleasant.A coffee bar and large well appointed waiting room awaited us... Clean neat restrooms .. kid friendly play areas, tvs to while your time away... Even a quiet popcorn popper was on site ... Their Christmas decorations adorned the room as well... Hopefully our check engine light and Recalls will be dealt with and our trip back to pick up his pickup and head for home in a few hours ... Its clean and nice enjoy..

My stereo went dark, diagnostic issue. The service men tried to troubleshoot then told me I would have to pay them $135.00 for a diagnostic analysis. I called Sunset Honda in SLO and the very pleasant young man in their service department walked me through it on the phone. Had me push a few touch screen windows in car stereo and had it fixed free of charge. WOW guys at Honda Santa Maria, REALLY ???

The staff are very friendly and helpful. The only real issue I have is how long it takes to get simple service (oil change, tire rotation, etc.). I would be quoted an hour, to an hour and a half max only to be waiting 2+ hours. If it is going to take that long then that is fine, just dont quote something that is not going to be true.

It was easy to get an appointment the next day and my oil change was completed in under an hour while I waited. The waiting area is comfortable with wifi, coffee, and popcorn and a charging station for your phone. Overall it was an easy experience. The greeter an older gentleman was very friendly when taking the information from my car and walking me to the service advisor.

Said they would adjust the price of a car for noticeable gouges in bumper and front fender of car i was interested in. Then wouldnt adjusted prices. Working with Boubba and Mike (the Italian guy) was like pulling teeth.

So, I was planning of just looking at the 2018 CR-V and ended up getting it on the same day. It helped that I spent two weeks researching cars and having an idea what I wanted and needed in a car. The guy that help me was very easy going and went with the flow every time I went back on front on my decision making. He not pushy and seem to want to make sure I was getting what I really wanted. There is always haggling at the end but I still felt that I got my moneys worth.

I cant say enough great things about this dealership. They are game changers when it comes to purchasing a vehicle. Their level of customer service is something every dealership should aspire to achieve. Vito, Greg, and Dan were phenomenal in working everything out for me. I looked at the car I wanted with Greg and he took me on the best test drive, then worked out all the numbers with his team for me. After work, I ran by nearly an hour after they closed just to take a peek at the outside with my family and Vito grabbed the keys so my son could look inside. He was more than willing to take the time to answer any questions, even though he had every reason to want to rush us out. I told him I would be back to purchase it the following day. Greg was off, but had everything ready and Vito said he would take care of me when I came to purchase the car. He pulled it to the back for me the next morning and got it even more clean than it already was. It was waiting for me when I arrived with balloons and a bow so we could take pictures. Even after I purchased the car, he asked me if I wanted him to go over any of the features and then told me to call him if any questions came up. Furthermore, it was a used car that I was getting an outstanding deal on, and I was not treated any different than if it were one they were making a lot of money on. I sincerely recommend checking this place out and speaking with Vito or Greg, just because my experience with them was so great, I want you to have that experience too. However, this dealership has such high standards over any other dealership Ive been to, I dont think they would put their faith in a sales consultant that wouldnt give you an incredible experience.

The associate has almost no information to provide, seems distracted. Does not attempt in any way to win me over as a customer. Obviously, I WILL NOT BE BUYING FROM THIS DEALERSHIP.

Even though they performed my oil change within an hour which usually takes Honda dealers 2 hours ( still not sure why ), I specifically asked them not to rotate my tires, twice. Brought the car to my tire place the next day and was informed the tores had recently been rotated, wow, just wow, cant even take simple instructions and follow them, deceitful to customer and would not even listen to car for specific noise and instead wanted to charge me almost $100 for inspection fee, I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!

Wow its unbelievable this Honda dealer maintenance service is getting away with all frauds, I dont understand and including the manager, the worst management. not long ago we brought my Acura to a quick service maintenance my car came out worse, and they told me to test drive and bring my car a next day, which they dont want to take look because they were busy but my car the steering wheel it has a big noise on every turn which originally had no noise at all. if you want to save time and money please do yourself a favor find other place or recorded every conversation and show them not to take advantage of people who trust them for better service

If youre thinking about buying an Honda from San Luis Obipso, save your time and drive to Honda Santa Maria. The service is better at the Santa Maria location and the prices are better. If you have any children, this location has a kids area for them to play as well as a popcorn machine and much friendlier service. Thank you Honda Santa Maria for being my go to Honda location.

I bought a nissan altima 2015 (used). I bought this car 2 years ago and it has already given me transmission problems. Luckily I got the warranty and it was covered. But do not buy vehicles from them because if they are not honda they will not work on them and they will have you going back and forth with dealers in order to get honda to release the warranty. Staff in the service department checked my check engine light said it was gonna run better, when I got in it felt the same and nothing changed. Service staff is not helpful and overall I have had a bad experience with them. I am never going to santa maria Honda. Wont even consider car shopping in santa maria at all!!!

Worst experience Ive had at any dealership. Salesman and managers are pushy all they care about is making a quick sale.They dont listen to what you have to say and just keep wanting to seal the deal.They make you feel pressured and uncomfortable.I own hondas but will never be buying from Here, Ever.I rather go to Lompoc or SLO. Thank you for the bad service though I ended up buying a brand new car at Mazda. Some of the staff need classes on how to treat customers you did not earn my business.

Tried to order some parts and the parts guy didnt want to give me the part number off the parts. He told me that Honda didn’t alow him to do that’s what he told me. So I called sunset Honda down in San Luis Obispo and I ordered the parts from them. I don’t know what kind of counter people you guys have there that’s not good for the dealership reputation
