Wonderful store. James is a master craftsman. Designed a custom set of rings to accompany my wifes diamond that are amazing, brilliant and show off the diamond beautifully. Was able to get this designed and created quickly and for a reasonable price. This will be our go to jewelry store going forward.

James Kallas is amazing. He helped me design a one of a kind engagement ring and it turned out beyond beautiful. He answered all my questions, provided me with an education on things I wasnt thinking about initially, and just made me feel confident about going forward. A friend in Santa Fe recommended that I try James Kallas Jewelers for an engagement ring since their quality is excellent but their prices are considerably less than what one would find at the Plaza downtown. I visited and met with James, and told him a bit about what I had in mind - something custom and new but in a vintage look, and built to take a bit of abuse (my now-wife is outdoorsy) - and then showed him some pictures that were in the right direction. We discussed possibilities and pricing, and decided to go forward. After a few days we met again and he showed me a design hed put together. It looked good, and I offered a few tweaks, and then a few days later he had another design to show me. This looked very good, and so a few days after that he built a 3-D mockup in plastic so that we could get a realistic view of the thing. By the time I said yes, thats the one, lets build that!, there was very little guessing left about what the final product would be like. The final product is astonishingly beautiful, and its a ring that can be worn in every day life but that has some dramatic 20s flash to it. After our engagement I got a matching wedding band for myself, and this too is an excellent ring.In short, James helped create for us a totally custom engagement ring that really suits the character of my wife, and it turned out more beautiful than what I had hoped for; its obvious by looking at it and holding it that the craftsmanship is excellent and that its built to last; and I know something like this would have cost more, probably much more, at a store near the Plaza.I highly recommend James Kallas Jewelers, and I will certainly continue to purchase jewelry from James and this store in the future.

James and all his employees have a sense of perfection and craftsmanship unique in this day and age. No matter how new, old, unique - he has a perfect idea of what can be (and cannot be) done. Wouldnt go anywhere else!
