While on a roadtrip from NY our car decided to act up. We searched online and found Ian, called and they said they are fully booked but they will take a look at the issue. They were able to fix the issue for us within 2 days. They are so nice and helpful, with fair prices. I am thankful I found Ians garage, they saved our lives and we were able to continue with our roadtrip!

I moved to Santa Fe about 6 months ago and for various reasons had to take my Mini to Ian’s Garage a few times. In all instances, Theresa and Ian have been professional, trustworthy and reasonable. I’m glad I now have my mechanic!

Let me begin by saying you will not find a mechanic as skilled, patient, or as competent as Ian Clemmer. I spend my summers in Santa Fe and Ian has cared for all of my vehicles as if they were his own. Always sound advice, always precise, and most importantly, always a gentlemen. He serviced all of my BMWs over the years-2000 M Coupe, 2000 540i, 2012 X5M, and most importantly my baby-1988 e28 M5. Ian is so skilled and so excellent at his work. He can diagnose a problem very quickly and work towards a solution immediately. HIs demeanor is like no other mechanic. Extremely sensitive and a with a maturity far beyond his years. If you own a BMW and live even close to Santa Fe, you owe it to yourself to have Ian service it. He is moving to a much larger location, which only means he will be able to service ALL of the BMW cars in Santa Fe.

Ian and Theresa are very professional and friendly. I had Ian look over my E46 M3 and even though I didn’t need anything major, it was the fact that he recommended for me to wait until my next inspection. He could’ve ran up a hefty maintenance bill and instead saved me a lot of money. Today’s mechanics are quick to raise the bill and make some money. NOT IAN. He looked over my checklist but he went above and beyond to make sure everything on my M3 was running to perfection. Topped off fluids, adjust and replace small items that I didn’t even ask him to do. Price was very reasonable and more than anything I feel relieved that I have found a mechanic that will take the extra time to satisfy the customer.He has gained a customer in myself but anyone else that has a BMW I highly recommend IAN’S GARAGE.

So my girlfriend and I were in Santa Fe on vacation when we ran into a problem with our BMW. We found Ian on the internet and drove over to his shop he spent probably 45 minutes looking at our car and helped us understand that it was still under warranty and arranged for the car to be brought to the dealer He also told the dealer to expect us and we got VIP treatment from them and we also got VIP treatment from Ian and his wife Theresa. They just took care of us and turned what was potentially a pretty stressful situation into something that was a unique customer experience.Besides being very nice people Ian and Teresa know what theyre doing Ian has a serious background in Volvos and BMWs and it seems to me that the local dealer uses his expertise on a regular basis when they have problems that are a little beyond their abilities.Bottom line is you go to a mechanic sometimes wondering if theyre going to take advantage of you. It is the opposite with Ian and Theresa. With them you have people who will be your advocate and will take care of you and your car with a combination of professionalism and friendliness that is how to find anywhere.

My 2002 330ci has broken down twice in Santa Fe. The first time, in September 2016, it was a fuel pump. Ian got the work done right, and was friendly and easy to deal with. About 3 p.m. yesterday - a Friday - my serpentine and drive belts shredded, and it was obvious where Id go. I figured Id take the train back to Albuquerque and arrange for pick-up sometime next week. Nope. Ian went right to work, not just replacing the belts, but checking all the components they go to. He diagnosed a possible alternator issue, but nothing that would keep me from getting home (which I did). He didnt just tell me what he was doing; he showed me, just as friendly and honest as before. I cant promise hell get you in on zero notice, last thing on a Friday, and fix your car while you wait, but Im certain youll get good work from a great guy, and if your experience is like mine, youll leave wishing you could have paid more. Car repairs dont get better than that.

Ian is very knowledgeable, helpful, and expertly trained for 18 years in BMW, Toyota and Volvo. He did great work on my 1997 BMW 528i. I would go back to him for any other repair needs.
