Had my hair done with low lights and highlights to camouflage grey hair. Walter is amazing!!! He took his time and you can just tell he loves what he does. Really friendly, fun, talented man. I highly recommend him and this hair salon. Everyone super friendly!

Late review! I am so glad I found this place! I moved back to the area and was looking to touch up my roots(my grays were bad!). When I called a gal Deborah answered and she was so welcoming and fun to talk to when scheduling my appointment!! After talking to her I was really looking forward to my appointment.So, my appointment was with Lara, and she did a fabulous job!!! Before seeing her I had been going much darker than my normal color, but it was growing out/fading and I liked the way it was lightening up naturally. She matched my roots perfectly, 100%. I was very happy and impressed!! She made my hair gorgeous.I also want to add that the entire experience in the salon from beginning to end was fun and light, just felt like home with these gals.I will definitely be going back!! I highly recommend!

Natalie gave me a great cut! Friendly, funny, and very skilled. She reshaped my hair after 1.5 years of lockdown growth. Very happy with it. Thank you!

I dont give Kudos easily, but I have to say that Debra, the owner was so incredible, referring us to a great salon for my daughter because she was booked. WHO DOES THAT? When I called back a few weeks later in desperation for a quick blow style for my sons wedding, she figured it out and got me in with Wally! He was aaaa-mazing! Knew exactly what I wanted and it came out beautifully. Still had my flip-curl the next day! Too effusive maybe, ok, ok, parking was too convenient, needed to get my steps in....;)

Moving can be hard when you have to find a new person to take care of your hair. The past six months have been transformative. I have had Walter at Lavish cutting my hair. I have been asked by complete strangers and close friends who cut my hair, I have shared his name in meetings, grocery stores and even on the street as perfect strangers ask me who cut my hair. He is so great at helping you to make decisions on changes and matching your hair to your lifestyle. Each time I have come in to see him it has been a treat, it is not just his great personality and sense of humor. He is an artist. For the first time in my life, I am REALLY enjoying my hair, not fighting it. His cuts make the daily grind of trying to manage my curls that just will not cooperate a thing of the past. Ive been going to Lavish for many years, and my two teenagers do as well. We love Lavish, and irrepressible Deb the owner, so much that we stayed put when our beloved hair stylist left to open her own studio. Now we go to Monica, who we like just as much. Very happy!!!

Love, love love this place. I live in Monterey and its totally worth the drive to Santa Cruz to have Debs attention and care. Shes got style to spare, lots of ideas and she pays attention to my style preferences (even when I am not aware of them!) The salon was easy to find, and has a hip, relaxed, ambiance. Great products and stellar service in a chic environment (but not too fussy), who could ask for more?

Absolutely incredible, walked in and was greeted by Marion (super friendly and accommodating) she booked me a same day appointment with Lara (an absolute treasure). I had been feeling so down about my dry frizzy damaged hair after blonding my hair and doing a color correct (yeesh!) LARA to the rescue with her sparkling conversation and expertise meticulous cut and wonderful restorative hair treatment, left feeling styled sleek and ready to conquer my week ♡♡♡♡♡ I have found my go to place--- find me at Lavish ♡ BONUS she takes early and late evening apts which = heaven sent for a working mama ;)

Not sure how some of these other people ended up having such a negative experience. I am a male 36 years of age and went in for the first time today. I went in with a good attitude and received good attitude back. Makes me wonder about the others exchange of attitude. I guess some of us need lots of attention and when we dont get it we cry like a baby. Everyone in the salon had a great attitude and it felt lively. Will definitely be going back. I saw Jemini who did dread maintenance and trimmed my sideburns, etc. Wonderful experience!

I definitely meant to leave a comment the first time!Hands down my favorite salon ever. I stumbled upon Hilary’s instagram(hilaryish), and thought I’d give it a try. She always transforms my hair into something amazing and fresh. I’ve been going to her for a year now and I’m not looking back. The salon is so clean and smells amazing. The team makes it seems like a well oiled machine.

First professional manicure EVER at almost 65 and Deborah was amazing, she is a fun person to talk with. Cut with Celia, my second, and very happy!

Two fo my favorite people on the planet work here- and I wouldnt trust my head or my daughters head to ANYONE else! Berit is THE BEST childrens hair stylist ever- great with children- and Monica has been doing my hair for years- not only gets it right but gets it better than right.
