I was lucky enough to be informed about SandersBJJ from a martial arts forum. One of my biggest concerns was that I am over 40, overweight, and a slow learner. What I didnt want was to take classes from someone who wasnt excited to help me with my journey because I was too slow or had no aspirations to become a competitive fighter. Professor Ian is no slouch. He is not only knowledgeable and competitive, but he has the qualities that make an excellent instructor. He is clear, thorough, and is super patient. I have been in and out of martial arts for decades and I have come across the best and the worst. I am happy to say that I am pleased and eager to come to class at SandersBJJ whenever I can. Im born and raised hear in NH. I moved out west for school in early 2000s. Started training with John Sanders early 2005, in Ocean beach area of San Diego, CA. After a few years relocating several times I trained with a handful of instructors. John Sanders reached out and used his personal contacts to connect me with places to train with instructors of the same lineage and Carlson Gracie based system in Tucson, AZ and both the southwest and Northeast coastal regions at times just to make sure I was in good hands. Its rare to find this level of passion, respect, & commitment to ones craft. Classes are available from 1st day kids & beginners up to top level black belt competition training. If youve wanted to start or have training and want to advance your BJJ skills from any level to the next level this is the place you want to do it.
