I had a backlog of maintenance and repairs for my truck. They conducted a 175 point inspection which turned up more necessary repairs. Brandon kept in touch regarding parts delays. Everything is running well: brakes, steering, and best of all - the suspension. The final repairs went into Friday night. Brandon delivered my truck after hours. I will bring my truck to Precision Motorworks for its repairs and maintenance !
I took my Audi to get both the APR ECU and TCU stage 1 tune. It was quick and painless, and talking with the guy in the office (whose name I didnt catch unfortunately), you can tell that they really love working on cars and talking about all the modifications you can make to them.Ill definitely be bringing my car back here in the future for any tuning or yearly services I need!
An honest local family business with an attention to detail! I have never had a single problem with their services or repairs in the 16 years I have been going there!
1st time customer.I came later in the day and I could tell they were all tired, I was planning on bringing my 2015 audi a4 back the next day for an APR stage 1 tune. But the gentleman I talked to said pull right on up and well do it right now, itll take about half hour. I came back half hour later and my vehicle was dialed in. The gentleman I spoke with, Jeff, took it for a test drive around the block and then Brandon schooled me down on how to switch between the different tunes that were installed....stock, 91, 93, or 100 octane. Super knowledgeable about what it is they do over there, answered every question I had, then saved me 1k on an unnecessary trip to the dealer. All in all A+ experience. Definitely the real deal concerning European vehicles, highly recommend.....And the tune, came out beautiful, With a 12 month warranty, you really cant go wrong, thank you guysBIGUPS!!
Always go here to get my APR tunes done.Brandon is a cool and knowledgeable guy
I was referred to Precision by a good friend of mine. Im so lucky he did. They really took care of me. Brandon was easy to work with, handled everything in a timely, and was professional the entire time.
Like having a good friend who is pro mechanic and owns his owns shop. The staff are knowledgeable, super friendly and you feel like you’re amongst close friends. Very honest and open with their insights and guidance. They live the experience, place is full of tuned Audi models, so I knew i was in the right place. Jeff and Brandon were both super helpful, knowledgeable and accommodating. I have a go to shop for all my needs now.
Great extra mile customer service...Took my Audi Q5 in for 65K maintenance with request for additional attention to trunk lid not opening all the way. Trunk lid issue was thought to be caused by struts on either side which must be malfunctioning. Solution was to install new struts, however the pricey new struts did not solve the problem. When I brought the car back in for further repair, the real problem came to light and was resolved -- which did NOT involve the need to replace the struts. The shop owner acknowledged my disappointment in having to purchase unneeded parts and adjusted my invoice accordingly. They also delivered the car to my house with trunk lid in perfect working condition within a few hours of having dropped it off. These guys are awesome. Theyre good at what they do and provide excellent customer service.I will continue to bring my car there for service and will highly recommend to friends!!!
Extremely poor attitude. I was there to inquire about APR tune my Audi Q5. The guy showed no interest in answering any question and responded extremely rude. I would avoid this place.
I needed to get a reflash for my Audi RS3. All I can say is these guys are professional, friendly, down-to-earth, honest, knowledgeable and I highly recommend them. I will be using them for other projects, stay tuned thanks again guys!
I let these guys work on my 3.0T engine and they set the timing incorrectly, and have ceased to answer all calls, or emails. Please be warned. Everytime I show up they tell me to leave or they will call the police.
Ive taken my Golf R to Precision for years, and I have always been happy with the quality of work. However, I have often been dissatisfied with poor communication or attitude when interacting with Jeff and other members of the staff. When asking for technical advice or recommendations, I have gotten conflicting answers, or I was treated like my questions were wasting the staffs time. I have had more positive experiences and less expensive labor at other SJ shops, such as Sprint Motorsports.
I love coming to Precision Motorworks. I have been coming here for 3 years to service my car whether this is for an oil change, leaks, battery, or engine improvement for repairs. Jeff is super nice and always puts the customer first. His staff is helpful and they provide a detailed assessment of your car before proceeding with repairs. Overall I will continue to visit this shop since they are honest and are not in business to scam anyone. Thank you, Jeff and staff!!!
Amazing service! Jeff, Brandon and their team are incredible. Very professional. I always feel comfortable dropping off my car, knowing I will get consistent quality service. They even went out of their way to bring the car back to my house, as I was busy and couldn’t pick it up. Thanks Brandon!
Precision Motorworks is a breath of fresh air compared to the typical car repair experience. Superb service with professional staff who care about your car and you as a person. Prompt turnaround and fair pricing. Detailed notes and car inspection with mobile-friendly communication. Good humor and banter among the staff. For a good story: ask Jeff about his return to acting.
PMW is adhering to current safety guidelines with plexiglass dividers and social distancing.Felt very comfortable during most recent visit.
Just this past week I needed a service and repair of turn signal fixture on our 19 yr. old Camry. Once again, this company gave us the best possible service...always far and above beyond what you might expect and no comparison from former past experiences. Recently Brandon did a great job with my dead battery situation when Jeff was gone. As always, they keep our ancient car in good condition .So fortunate to be a client of an honest company.Marjorie Banko
Fast and easy APR Stage 1 flash. Customer service was pleasant, and service was easy for them.
If there was a rating below 1 star I would give it.I contacted Precision Motorworks a couple of weeks ago about an issue with a vehicle we have. That vehicle had been modified, and we wanted to bring it back closer to a stock configuration. At first the owner of the establishment Jeff Sowell was helpful, he explained the issue and even recommended parts to replace, he offered to do the job for $170 in labor and $85 for a tune. With this information, I ordered my parts, and upon their arrival I setup an appointment to have the vehicle worked on. On appointment day is when everything went awry. I dropped off the car, Jeff was not in the shop at the time, one of the employees by the name of Brandon handed me a work order for $530 or so. I simply responded to him, that Jeff had given me a verbal quote already, and it was because of the numbers he quoted that I was back. Brandon may not have had the authority or know how to make the adjustment, but he made a change to $340, so I signed the repair order to get the work started, but I requested to speak with Jeff. Brandon said Jeff would contact me upon his return around noon time. I never got a call from Jeff. The next day, I went in to pickup the vehicle, and I wanted to say hello to Jeff and just to inquire about the amount on the invoice. I was met immediately with shouting and insults from Jeff, who also went so far as to call me a Mother F***** just for simply asking a question. So I politely said Thank you and got the hell out of there. I am 67 years of age, he is easily half my age, the level of disrespect given to a customer none the less is unacceptable and absolutely unprofessional. I will never recommend this shop to any of my colleagues, Jeff is absolutely one of the rudest people I have ever done business with.
Talked to Jeff about getting a piggyback and reasonator delete put on my car, was debating about doing it myself, and he was very helpful on giving me tips on how to do it. was such a nice guy, i decided to just give him my business. Work was done quickly for the price we discussed. Happy with the service, im sure Ill be back (hopefully just for mods and not repairs).
I have been taking my Audi S8s to precision for the past few years and have always had excellent service. Great communication, Timely service. These guys really know what they are doing. Its the only place Ill take my Audis apart from Recall work that has to be done by the dealer.
Love this shop and they awesome service they provide!! Ive taken my 2007 BMW 328i here a few times, with only the best service and care in town. Jeff and his team know what they do, and do it very well. Jeff is very upfront, direct, and keeps it real! Im very happy to have found a great shop for my car and look forward to coming back for tuning and high performance modifications. Highly recommended shop!!
Great shop with great employees that know their stuff
This shop is amazing. I brought in my Audi S5 for an APR Stage 2 Dual Pulley upgrade and could not be happier with how my car feels. The guys there really really know what they are doing and the work they did was top-notch.
This place is by far the best car shop we have ever been to! They are honest, straightforward, and complete the work in a timely manner with total transparency. We brought my vehicle in thinking we had to get about $400 of work done and it ended up only costing us $38! I would highly recommend this shop to anyone looking for a reliable, helpful, and honest place to get your carwork done.
Have catback exhaust installed on my b9 audi a4 allroad. fabulous service, very professional and the exhaust sounds fantastic.
Trust worthy, highly skilled, good costumer service. My APR dealer of choice. I have taken my cars there for the last 7 years. No complaints.
Brought my car here for the few years I lived nearby. Always did a great job for a good price. Then helped me end up selling my car for a great price in the end by recommending a consignment shop.
Outstanding mechanic! Everyone there was great and got me in on a fully booked day too. Highly recommend!
Very good to deal with, asked the to service my dsg vw tdi transmission and the thing drives so must better. Shift and feels good. Would recommend them to anyone.
Precision Motorworks has taken my MK7 GTI from stock to stage 2+ while providing the best customer service Ive seen in the industry. Dont be turned off if Jeff seems a little blunt as this shop is dedicated to customer satisfaction and quality, not sugarcoating words. Come here for the peace of mind that you got the best service for your vehicle at a reasonable price.
These guys really know what they are doing. Its the only place Ill take my Audis apart from Recall work that has to be done by the dealer.
The team at precision are expert at determining issues up front, have the depth of experience and drive to solve your auto issues, and do so in a friendly, courteous manner that is rare in this industry. There have been times an estimate or fix did not take or had to be done again... I did not have to pay. They stand by their work and do what is right to sustain high customer support standards - again, a rarity in this business. Originally recommended to this business by a friend, I have referred many, many friends who remain loyal and satisfied customers to this day. Fun team to work with.
Been back a few times including for scheduled service. They make the process super easy, and continue to be a delight to work with.Great experience with knowledgeable staff. They were very helpful in recommending products and options as well as verifying my choices lined up with my intent. Staff was friendly and conversational while I was waiting for my vehicle which is a huge bonus.
I have been taking my Mercedes R350 to Precision for about 4 years now and they are, without a shadow of doubt, the best auto service center in the Bay area. Superb customer service, tremendous work to keep the car running perfectly and great value for money. I trust them 100% and blindly follow any recommendations they make in terms of what needs to be done on the car. Would unhesitatingly recommend them to anyone looking for an alternative to the over-priced service centers at the dealerships
Coming to Jeffs shop has been the best thing that happened to my car! They always do a high quality job at a fair price and they are always on time. They do a thorough analysis of the cars condition, inform you of your options and allow you to make the most sensible choice. And Jeff and his colleagues are the most awesome people to chat with :) I trust my car to no other shop since the last 3 years.
Honestly, there were some things I really liked about the place, the main issue I had was with the customer service. To be fair, Ill start with the positive. I really liked how they took apart components of my car during their inspection and sent me detailed photos and descriptions of the life of those components, all packaged into a handy website link that I could refer to later.Unfortunately, the customer service was simply not working for me. There were certain things that they said needed to be replaced that simply didnt, overall seeming like they were trying to make a little extra money off of me. I already own a premium European car so the components and installation are expensive, and thats to be expected. But adding additional unnecessary repairs/replacements does not help that case.Example:There was one thing in particular that I had actually replaced myself roughly 6 months before taking my car into Precision this time; an air filter. Not only was that component falsely reported as needing to be replaced (that I checked personally), but they replaced it and charged me for it knowing it was new, when all I gave the go ahead for was an oil change and brake replacement. Nowhere did I say to change a NEW air filter, and be charged extra for that. Additionally, this particular air filter was in the declined work section of my invoice, so it was also communicated there too. In the end, they took off the charges for the air filters (one was dirty but I never gave the go ahead to replace yet, the cabin air filter I replaced myself prior to this), but it shouldnt have even been an issue in the first place, and particularly not handled the way it was by the customer service.Additionally, I appreciate being upfront and blunt about certain things (especially business transactions), but I often found the service I needed was explained to me in a condescending way, and if Im already paying a lot of money I dont need to be talked down to as if I have no idea what Im talking about.Again, the service that was done on my car was completely fine, no issues so far with that. The status report system they have works incredibly well. The main issue I have is with the customer service, and the suggestions for some unnecessary replacements/repairs, which means more money coming out of my pocket.
If you want your car fixed correctly and you dont want to be taken on repairs that you dont really need, dont waste your time and money going to the dealer or to other independent shops go to Precision Motorworks.I drive German vehicles and was continually frustrated trying to find a shop that was competent, honest and reasonably priced. Dealers are typically competent and usually honest but grossly overpriced and other independent shops that I tried were more reasonably priced, but were incompetent. Then I found Precision, they are every bit as competent as the best dealer, they are honest and their prices are reasonable.Chris and Jeff run a great shop. I will never take my vehicles anywhere else.
I wouldnt even consider taking my car anywhere else. This is a great place doing fantastic work regardless of if the car is high end or not! I feel like they treat me like family and they strive to do a little extra every time! Best car mechanic shop I have ever used in 27 years living and driving in the area. Cars: Porsche 911, Honda Civic, Ford Pinto, Infinity G35, and Mazda 5. The gentlemen at Precision have been taking care of my cars for years and I recommend them enthusiastically to anyone who ever asks including my own grown children.
They took care of my 2006 Audi most of my parts under the hood are after market took it to the dealer many time and couldnt t find the issue (many chip issues) also many shops in the area over 1yr and a half with no luck came across Precision Motorworks and Jeff over there took care of all the problems and issue and knew what to do EXCELLENT WORK also along with the replace A/C and Transmission shifting timing work excellent place for up grade your carEspecial in German cars
Great service for a great price. They only fix whats needed.
Cant rave enough about these guys! Im a customer for life - I bring my Range Rover Sport Supercharged to Precision Motorworks, Inc. and will also be bringing my BMW X5 :)
I trust Precision with my Cayenne Turbo so much that theyre the only ones Ill go to with it. Jeff is very fair and helped us most recently around Christmas when he knocked over $700 off a repair estimate for a cooling system problem. Highly recommended!
Great work, and great customer service. I have tried many car repair establishments, but Precision Motorworks is excellent in so many ways, they follow up with you once your car has been completed, and they walk you through the process and show you what needs to be done and why. I will use this place for all of my vehicles. I have always gone to the dealer for repair or maintenance but now will only use Precision Motorworks
Legit place for all your automotive needs.
Jeff is great! He runs a very efficient, quality conscious operation. Their work is absolutely top notch and their prices are very reasonable. One of the best things is that they dont overbook their shop. You never get that call at 3:30 in the afternoon saying that they are waiting for parts and your car wont be ready for another day. They take pains to make sure that they have everything needed before they schedule your appointment.Once I started going to Jeff, auto maintenance became something I just dont have to think about, they notify you when things are due and keep track the condition of your vehicle so you dont end up sitting on the side of the road somewhere. You can pay more else where, but you wont get better service.
Precision Motorworks is our single source for all car maintenance and upgrades. Theyve managed everything weve thrown at them, from a valve gasket job on a used roadster to a suspension lift on a Yukon. Biggest reason we keep coming back is trust and thats a hard quality to find in any industry.
I like the work Precision does on my BMW. Ive literally spent thousands of dollars here to have maintenance done on my cars over the years, but it seems that the shop is not interested in doing routine work anymore.I had a problem with a Check Engine light with an intermittent loss of power. I made an appointment for 8:00 Friday morning to have this checked and get an oil change. I got a call at 3:11 stating that there was a problem communicating with my cars ECU. Jeff recommended, and I agreed to troubleshoot the problem. I called back at 5:07 to check on the status of the car. Jeff said they found a bad wire connection and fixed it but the ECU returned too many codes to be useful with my problem. Alright, I understand, its an older car. What about the oil change? Not done. I made the next available appointment for an oil change and A/C recharge the next Wednesday at 8:00.I dropped the car off at 8:00 and received a call at 11:27 to verify the work I wanted done. I refused the Cabin Air Filter replacement and asked him to proceed with the work requested. Never heard back from Jeff before closing on Wednesday. I needed the car Thursday and so I went there at opening (8:00) to pick up my car and pay. Nothing had been done. The car sat there ALL DAY even though I had an appointment for simple, routine maintenance. Okay, maybe there was an emergency in the shop; I called Jeff a few hours later and left a message for him to call me back and explain. He never returned my call. So, for these two visits, I spent $320 and all that was done was clearing the faults in my ECU and finding the loose wire in a connector. And I lost the use of the car for two days.If you have a routine problem, you may be better off going elsewhere, Im not sure youll get the work done here in a timely fashion - even with an appointment.
Outstanding quality of work and great service. Jeff the owner is extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly.
Came in to detune my car to stock. Jeff was very kind that he did my car for free. Definitely coming back!
Awesome folks can trust them to fix what you need and inform you whats next
Jeff and Company had been very reliable for the 1.5 year I knew them. This changed when my car was worked on at the end of April. I scheduled an appointment online via Scott and got in the following week. It took them much longer for routine maintenance. I was on business travel, so I guess that makes some sense as to why it took a little longer than normal.About three weeks after my maintenance was completed, I noticed an oil leak. I thought that was strange as I had it corrected by Precision Motorworks a few weeks back. I talked with my buddy who is a mechanic and he said that the Oil Filter Kit and Castrol Edge service that had been worked on by Precision Motorworks was prone to leak. He asked me to get some work done by a mechanic when I had a chance. I was moving, so I couldnt go back to Precision. I swung by a Jiffy Lube in Phoenix, Arizona. They explained that the Oil Filter Kit and Castrol Edge work that was done by Precision Motorworks caused them to change the Oil Gasket, because of the residue left by the leak. This was an additional $200.00 out of my pocket. I imagine I will also need to get another Engine Clean, which was one of their recommendations to be done right away, because of the oil leak. I wish they tested my car out a little more prior to putting me on the road. You cannot control issues like this all the time, but it was in their wheelhouse and they should have been more upfront with me about a potential oil leak and 2nd Engine Clean.
I trust Precision motors blindly. Hands down the best in south bay. I have been with these guys since 7 years. You guys rock! If automobiles were humans, precision motorworks, inc. is stanford hospital
Came here for an APR IS38 Tune on my GTI. Jeff is very knowledgeable and will help you out. Very quick service for dropping in without an appointment Thank you & will be back.
Precision Motorworks is one of the best shops I have ever worked with. Jeff provides above and beyond service and manages the entire process to Best in Class service levels
Very nice staff. Friendly, personable and funny. Awesome wall of hats!

Very knowledgeable on German Cars!
Top notch shop . Great prices . People you can actually trust ! Chris and Jeff are the best !!!
They always do excellent work I highly recommend.
I first learned of Precision Motorworks through APR as one of my local dealers. I did a lot of research on VW forums regarding the kinds of tasteful mods I was interested in. I waited for APR to have one of their frequent sales and I pulled the trigger on a Stage 1 upgrade for my MK6 Jetta TDI.Throughout the process of deciding what other work I wanted for my Jetta, I found Chris and Jeff to be extremely patient and helpful. Theyre advice was spot on. They were able to give me sound recommendations based on my driving style. They were more than happy to do any of the work I was interested in but did talk me out of a few mods that wouldn’t improve the drivability of my Jetta all that much. I really appreciated their honesty.Originally I had the Eibach springs installed and Jeff advised me to try them out before I invested any more money into the suspension. After a lot of research and much help from Chris, I decided to install the Bilstein B8 shocks completing the B12 Pro-Kit. This along with the Traction Control switch they installed has completely changed how my Jetta is able to power through corners! To date Precision Motorworks has done an APR ECU Upgrade, K&N Filter, Short Shifter, Traction Control Switch, Bilstein B12 Pro-Kit (springs and shocks installed separately) and most recently my 40K service. Overall, the car drives better than the day a bought it.My experience has been very different than one of the other reviews. I found Chris and Jeff to be knowledgeable and flexible with my needs. They provided me with tons of information that I vetted elsewhere so I could make an informed decision. I admit it’s inconvenient driving my car down from San Francisco and leaving for a day but I find it’s worth it!
Always the best, most reliable, most trustworthy mechanics ever.
Jeff & His Crew knows their crafts & friendly. I would recommend this shop to all my framily.
Great shop
Great service
