Quite frustrated with this branch. I filed a complaint with a company and had a technical difficulty which didn’t allow me to send my rebuttal to the company. I resent the same day but it never was sent to the company. I tried calling this branch and sent multiple emails without ever getting a response to my attempts to get it straightened out. When trying to reopen the complaint they closed it saying it was a duplicate...seriously??? The original complaint was closed with zero resolution.
This is a lazy, ineffective BBB branch. They dont send complaints to businesses or respond to local residents. Why are they here in SB?

This office of the BBB is an outstanding location to work with. They have spent extra time getting to know me and my business. The people who work here are very sensitive to the challenges all businesss face. I believe the main goal of the BBB is to make sure the consumer gets treated fairly, however there are always to sides of any dispute that may arise. I love being a member because it helps hold all 225 of my employees to the highest standards in business. The consumers in todays world are very educated and having a good rating with the BBB has been extremely beneficial to my organization.
As a small business owner, I believe that it is important to help customers navigate throughout their various options and the BBB is helping bring more transparency on the marketplace. As a member, the BBB team is supportive and provides best practices to be recognized as a trustworthy and reliable company. I would recommend small business owners becoming a member of the BBB.
This place is very professional . Staff is friendly. Parking is Abit more of a challenge. awesome business overall.
We have been covered by BBB for over 10 years and they have been very responsive to our needs, and do not hesitate to help us in any way. possible. Recently I had a small request and Ben took 2 minutes to get that in to me. Thanks a lot!
This is not a review per say. It is a question regarding Ryan Leagues problem with calling you and no one answering your phone. He stated he was calling at 8:20 am and no one was answering. Your response was that your business hours (as posted) was 9:00am. I am looking at your website from google and it states 8:00am to 5:00pm. Which one is correct? Thank you.
I would like to thank our local BBB office for the help I received regarding my business. My local business has a very similar name to a newly opened internet company. Unfortunately the other company has been doing a poor job at running a business. Confused customers have left poor ratings on our site when it was intended for the other company. Needless to say this has been exhausting and has hurt our business. The Santa Barbara BBB is the only company that took the time to correct these mistakes and return our account to the true information. I wish I could have that same service from the other large internet rating companies.
I provided a complete of my dealings with Vinesse a wine distributor. The company had refused to take back wine I had not ordered. They were nice enough about it but had sent a shipment that I had no knowledge of. It was an auto shipment misunderstanding. It took time but the results were good. My account was credited for the full amount of $141. To the companies credit they did not ask for the wine to be returned. Now I can open the box waiting by the door for several months. This was my first experience with a BBB and your work was effective. Thank you
Having been a member for over 15 years, I have appreciated working with the Better Business Bureau in mediating and getting both parties to understand more about where each other are coming from. Every time I needed to contact someone at the BBB, they have either been available or very responsive to my requests. You have to respect the art of dispute resolution and I think unlike some other forums on the internet, the BBB holds all parties more accountable to the crux of an issues and not just a rant... Additionally, I was honored when they awarded my company, Meathead Movers with an award as being in their hall of fame for having no unresolved issues within the past 3 years! Thanks guys and keep up the great work!
After months of trying to contact my contractor to remedy problems from a remodel I finally gave up and submitted my complaint to the BBB over the weekend. I received a call from the contractor on Tuesday asking to come over to fix the problem. Five minutes later Ben from BBB called to let me know he spoke with the contractor. Ben followed up to ensure everything was handled. I should have contacted BBB sooner.
The only way to remove a complaint, is to pay these people for a fresh start program.Even though the person who initially made the complaint, withdrew their complaint. They will not remove a company profile complaint against your company. The Better Business Bureau USES EXTORTION TO CREATE REVENUE.
BBB of the Ti-Counties is truly a consumer AND business advocate. In my profession, there are several unlicensed individuals out there that reflect badly on the rest of us. The BBB actively goes after the unqualified and unlicensed. They also act on consumer complaints.
Our auto repair shop, Morin Brothers Automotive, have been members on and off for thirty years. Their current salesman has called us repeatedly, wont take no for an answer, and gets mad when we tell him to give it up! If another business treated me like this, I would complain to the Better Business Bureau.
Ben has called me so many times using different lines I would not be able to count. Im sure theres other ways for people to verify my business as creditable. I will not be using the BBB again. Also, its outdated and Im not sure why I used them in the first place.
Recently I had a billing complaint, as always, due to lack of businesslike communication with Time Warner Cable Hemet, Ca. In this case Idyllwild, Ca. I simply could not cancel my service having last attempted and put on hold four times. So I wrote to this BBB office, Santa Barbara in complaint format and, voila, it was handled professionally, swiftly and the office got back to me immediately with a resolution with Time Warner. This took less time than dealing with Time Warner on the telephone.
Ive enjoyed my experience with the BBB Santa Barbara thoroughly. Its been great being a client and utilizing them as a resource to evaluate local businesses.
They wont stop telemarketing us.They are trying to make us become a member and pay for them and they keep telemarketing us and they wont stop even after repeatedly telling them to not call back. One time I suspected it was them again trying to telemarket us because the guy on the phone would not answer my question as to why he was calling so when I WOULD NOT TRANSFER HIM TO THE OWNER FOR FURTHER TELEMARKETING THE GUY ACCUSED ME OF BEING ON DRUGS.THIS IS THE WORST COMPANY FOR TELEMARKETING, DONT SIGN UP, ITS A WASTE OF YOUR MONEY AND THATS ALL THEY WANT!
I received a call from Ben Spradely regarding a complaint that was left for our business. It was a sales pitch to get us to sign up for a fresh start program to basically just have this one complaint removed. I brought it to our owners attention and he was not interested, as the BBB really isnt as accredited as it use to be. Yelp and other review services have completely taken over, and business is fine. Ben called this morning to follow up, I politely explained that our owner was not interested and Ben proceeded to laugh at me and then say probably cant afford it, huh?. I was absolutely shocked by the immaturity and unprofessionalism of this comment. I simply said, thanks Ben, have a nice day - and hung up. Its funny that you cant leave a BBB review for the BBB. I will make sure that Bens superiors find out about his actions and hopefully he does not continue to offend businesss across the Ventura County.
I have been with the BBB of the Tri-Counties for many years...They are professional and have enhanced my business and reputation by their honesty.Theyve also referred clients to our business, A to Z Auto Shipping, Inc. in Westlake Village, CAIts always been a pleasure working with them.
I was having a problem with Alliance United Insurance which has an A+ rating with the BBB. Alliance United took $400.00 from son to insure a wrecked car and denied coverage. All I was asking for was a refund which has been denied. I asked the BBB for help and wondered why Alliance United had an A+ rating when there are so many complaints against them. I wasnt given a reasonable answer. Rick told me to give the system a chance. I jumped through all the hoops and came up empty handed. My last email to them has been ignored. It is sad that the BBB cant even be trusted to make things right with a bad business. Pay your dues and I bet you can screw as many people as you want with the BBB turning their back on the consumer.
It is 8:20 AM. Business hours are listed as 8AM-4PM. The phone line continues to be unanswered. You are calling outside of our business hours. This line does not record messages.I have a complaint with a business local to SB county and I am attempting to reach someone at the BBB. Apparently, they cant even get their own business hours right.
Very kind and very helpful and in a very quick manner.
High pressure sales tactics every renewal, ever increasing fees, ever decreasing value. In todays market your $500 fee can get get much more mileage for value verification than this outdated organization.
