My brother and sister-in-law were visiting from Maryland and I reserved space for us on the Double Dolphin so that they could get a view of Santa Barbara from the water. Arianna is amazing to work with and was able to fit us in. Captain Spencer and First Mate Troy were the perfect team, and the entire experience added such wonderful memories to my family visit. This is definitely a must-do experience for visitors and residents alike!

I cannot begin to describe how amazing of a time our sunset cruise was! Our captain, (Johnny? I think. Sorry), and assistant, Kellie, were fantastic! They informed us of things to look out for, and when we were going against the swell. Two hours was perfect, but it was a gorgeous evening, so I could have stayed out a bit longer. Lol I felt safe and it was smooth sailing (get it?). 10000% would do this again. I think I will have to go monthly. If you have any doubts, dont. Just do it. You will not regret it.

Definitely add this to your day when visiting Santa Barbara! We saw seals, many birds and the sunset was spectacular! The boat was very nice with lots of places to sit and the drink and snack bar was a great addition.

My afternoon cruise on the Double Dolphin was sublime--a refreshing way to spend a couple of hours on the water in Santa Barbara. The crew were very friendly and attentive, the views were lovely, and we saw some incredible marine life. They also have a nice selection of snacks and refreshments available for purchase on board. Highly recommend this experience for locals and visitors alike!

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary and the boat experience was wonderful. I love the catamaran type boat on the water and would book another trip anytime in Santa Barbara. We celebrated our 45th Wedding Anniversary with a Sunset Cruise. It was a beautiful evening with just enough wind to carry the boat calmly across the sea. We shared a bottle of wine from the bar on board and ate snacks that we brought with us. After a hot summers day, it was lovely to feel the cool breeze! The Captain and crew were first rate. We enjoyed talking to the Captain and were very impressed with her docking the boat without a bump. I hope well be able to take this cruise again!

Our tour was great. We saw dolphins, whales, and sea lions, all while enjoying great wine and amazing service from the crew.

Fantastic Day On the Water. We rented a Catalina 36 for the day. Our experience on the phone booking the charter was excellent. Staff was very friendly, informative and helpful. I went down to the boat the day before just to take a look. The person in charge of charters, Spencer was very busy but took the time to talk to me and show me the boat. When I returned the day of the charter, Spencer again was incredibly friendly, helpful and informative. The boat was in immaculate shape. Everything was in working order. This was a 5 star day.

An amazing day on the water: smooth waters, great temperature, great hosts! Captain Christine and her mates treated us with first class service, they spoke to all guests and mDe everyone feel comfortable and appreciated. We were lucky to see a huge pod of dolphins and a small whale, the crew provided education on both species. Also appreciated was the quality of adult beverages, both wine and beers were top notch and reasonably priced.We had a spectacular day and wonder why we dont do this more often, now we cant wait to get back on the water!

Wonderful staff and crew made for a great experience! The views were amazing, the boat is very comfortable with blankets, snacks and drinks available. The crew gave us a great history lesson and pointed out cool landmarks of Santa Barbara which made it even better. I would definitely recommend this excursion.

Had a girlfriends trip to Beautiful Santa Barbara and took the sunset cruise on the Double Dolphin! Troy and Captain Spenser were amazing and had a smile on their faces pretty much the whole trip! We were blessed with a gorgeous sunset of the most vivid pinks and purples!!

Had a wonderful afternoon on the Double Dolphin! Crew was friendly and professional and we set sail right on time. Captain had an amazing knack for spotting whales way off in the distance and took us to just the right spot for the best viewing. The whales did not disappoint as they gave quite a show. Throughout their performance the captain gave a mini marine biology lesson to explain their actions. Very informative and fascinating. Cruise is normally around 2 hours but ours was a bit longer which I appreciated so we could could have maximum whale viewing time. Thank you SB Sailing Center for a great and memorable experience!

We had a wonderful time. The captain was great about sharing tidbits of information about the animals living in the ocean. We were thrilled to get to watch 3 adolescent whales feeding just yards away from our boat.The boat was clean and they had a good supply of snacks and drinks on board, as well as some ginger chews which came in handy for my husband when he started feeling a little queasy. The captain and crew were very attentive and made this event a great way to spend the morning. I look forward to other cruises with Santa Barbara Sailing Center.

The captain and crew were very pleasant, the ship comfortable and there were snacks/ and drinks available on board for purchase. I enjoyed the opportunity to sail . I would have loved to see some dolphins but did see some harbor seals as we returned to port. A very enjoyable 2 hours.

We scheduled a memorial cruise to scatter our parents ashes at sea. Graham was our Captain, and was very sensitive to the occasion. He offered us the chance to configure our cruise whatever way we wanted. We chose to motor directly out, scatter the ashes and flowers, and then take a leisurely trip back under sail. When one of our party became seasick, he did everything he could to make him more comfortable and get us back to land quickly. We cannot say enough about the great service provided by Graham and Santa Barbara Sailing Center.

This was fun, but I felt it went on too long. It was 2 hours and it got cold and dark and ran til about 8:30 pm, at which time most of the restaurants were closing. Id suggest starting a little earlier (we left the dock at 6:30) and make it an hour or even 90 minutes. Other than that, it was nice. Thank you.

We always have such a great time on these cruises. The captain and crew go out of their way to make this such an enjoyable experience for our family.

Generally, it was a positive experience and we had a good time. We were surprised though that the website informs us about the parking ticket validation on the boat but the crew told us that this feature is no longer available. Why has it been still advertised?

Captain Spencer was awesome and informative! The first mate - Im so sorry I dont remember her name - was amazing. A PhD student @ UCSB and working on the boat in her spare time. The boat was great - bar was great - AND we saw whales! Beware of lying in the nets at the bow of the boat... my son got SOAKED at one point when we hit a swell. Bring a towel just in case! Thank you for a very special trip :-)

Great company! We were lost and the map told us the wrong side of the harbor! (In case this happens to you, you wanna go to the left!) with that said, we called, and they’d hold the boat as long as they could, but by the time we got there we were to late ☹️ Not their fault, we we’re almost 30 minutes late! Long story short they were still able to fit us in on the next boat ❣️ I highly recommend them !👍🏻

Boat ride was fantastic. But extremely disappointed with the prices of alcohol. $17 for a small glass of wine! How is that not price gouging?

From the start of the whale cruise to the time we pulled back into the dock, the entire event was top notch. The crew were amazing! Spencer, the captain was very informative about every little detail, constantly giving little tidbits of information regarding the various sea-life we came across. When we start to see the whales, the crew did their best to get us as close as possible to them (without making it dangerous for the mammals) so that we could take pictures and get up-close and personal. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the entire trip.

Good ship, good crew - but would have been nice to have narrated to tell us a little about the coastline and ocean where we were sailing.

Great captain and crew, as well as a beautiful ship! Went whale watching with the kids and we saw gray whales diving and sea lions. Even if you dont get lucky enough to see animals, the trip out is gorgeous. Yacht rock and a nice white wine- I was in heaven. Wear your warm clothes. Know that you may get some sea spray if you go near the nets. My kids were lying face down on them. I feel like I have to add that the bathrooms were clean and nice smelling!

Weve lived in Santa Barbara over 20 years and never took advantage of SB Sailing Centers cruises. Sometimes you need to be a tourist to appreciate where we live and what we have to offer. Bravo SB Sail, we will go again ... soon.

We did the Waterfront Cruise over the weekend. The crew was amazing ! So helpful, attentive and very informative. The Double Dolphin is a beautiful boat and the views were amazing. Best first experience, a must do when in Santa Bárbara.

It was a great day and a great trip! We saw 3 - 5 different whales. Two were even mating! The Captain was very informative and let us know many interesting facts about whales and other sea creatures. I highly recommend it.

You might wonder if an hour is long enough. but my truth is...its perfect. A bery professional crew made it seamless. Plus mother nature will alway cooperate with seals, dolphins, pelicans and the like. its quite simply a great way to break up the day.

Just got back from our 2-Hour Sunset Cruise. We had Christine as our captain and Kelly as her first mate. It was an incredible experience with an amazing crew. The views of Santa Barbara and the Channel Islands were spectacular. Christine and Kelly wonderful and amazingly knowledgeable. I cant wait to come back for another cruise.

We rented kayaks here, paddled around the marina. We would definitely do this again!

The captain was great and his lovely mate helping out in the bar, the most friendliest people which made the experience so much better, checking on us if we were ok, making sure everyone was following the COVID rules which made me feel more at ease, offering blankets due to the chilly weather. Took the two hour Sunset Cruise a few days ago and has a great time. Saw tons of dolphins and sea lions. I loved that the captain/crew changed course for better views and wildlife as opposed to a fixed route. Drinks and snacks available to buy on board. Amazing views the whole time, photos dont compare to what you actually see. Tickets are a little steep but for the whole package a good value.

Great experience! Staff and crew are knowledgable and fantastic and will do their best to give you the experience you were looking for. Saw a couple of huge humpbacks, a very rare sight. And almost caught up to a couple of large gray whales, but we ran out of time! Mostly because the humpbacks were hanging out in a certain area. Thanks to our crew that day for a great day of whale watching.

I loved the small group atmosphere! Our Captain and crew were awesome, checking in regularly, in person, if we had questions or needed anything. I saw another whale watch boat cruise by packed with people and I was so happy that I was with SB Sailing!

We showed up to rent stand up paddle boards which we have done about 6 times in the past. This time they forced us through a cumbersome system using our phones. To book, pay, sign wavers, etc. after spending over 10 minutes and still not being finished we decided it was no longer worth our time. They refused to issue a refund… I will no longer be a customer of this company and if your old school and expect old-school service then do not go here.

Once great sailing center has gone downhill. It used to be worth being a member here until prices were jacked up (+975% for public cruises, from $5 to $48.75) and children no longer allowed on for free. I don’t know any other place that charges full price for a 3-month old! Unbelievable. The center must have been hit hard due to Covid but definitely passed those costs on to customers, leveraging its monopoly as the only sailing center in SB harbor. Such a shame. Would love to see a new center sprout up to shake this one back into its place! Shame on you Skip and Ian.

We had the best experience on the sunset sail. We were greeted by Arianna and the boat crew, we got a wonderful complimentary bottle of local wine and had a blast on the ride. Everyone was incredibly kind and we learned that Kate Winslet has a summer home in Montecito, who knew. Will definitely be coming to SB Sailing Center when we want to get back out on the water.

Went on the harbor cruise and had an absolutely amazing time. We saw a shark breach right after we pulled out of the harbor. There was also a group of dolphins that decided to play around the sides of the boat. It was absolutely incredible and definitely an experience I would recommend to anyone!

We are so incredibly happy with our Santa Barbara Sailing experience!
