I feel kinda bad writing this review because the older gentleman who cut my hair was very friendly. But, quite frankly, I had probably the worst haircut of my life. I described pretty clearly what I wanted and even had photos of my hair right after a haircut. Its a pretty normal and modern haircut. He seemed on page with what I wanted. His hands were a little shaky with the clippers but I didnt think too much of it at first. I became more and more nervous as the cut went on and I could tell he was just going in and chopping stuff with no real organization or consistency. The end result was bad enough where I went to another barber shop later in the day. The other barber was kind of in shock at the cut and I had to get my hair cut significantly shorter than I like it just so that it looks reasonably presentable. I understand this is a neighborhood-type friendly vibe of a place but damn the haircut was bad. Im not sure how this place is rated so highly. I cannot recommend it.

I agree with all of the other reviewers--Daniel rocks! Full disclaimer, I work downtown so La Arcada Barbers is super convenient. I love getting coffee at my local coffee shop, lunch at my favorite local haunts, and my haircuts at my neighborhood barber. Daniel knows how to work with my unruly hair, hes got a great conversation game, and knows how to be creative without being too radical. Daniels got that old-school barber sense, and more importantly hes just all around a great guy. Hank, who runs the shop, is cool, too. Hes always got the most genuine smile--like a man whos found his little corner of paradise and appreciates every moment of it.Stop in and get a cut, youll walk out feeling like a million bucks.

Cool little spot tucked away in the La Arcadia plaza. I definitely enjoyed the old-style atmosphere along with the antique chairs, it felt really comfortable and homely.Daniel, my barber, took his time on my hair and was a genuine pleasure to talk to. It took a while longer than what I am familiar with to get my hair cut, but that was appreciated. He was definitely more meticulous than if I went to SuperCuts or some other chain shop.Will definitely be coming back!

La Arcada has quickly become my favorite shop in town to get a cut. Daniel and Hank are both immensely personable and bring years of experience to the table, taking great care in getting your hair just the way you want it. Daniel has also been able to tame some of the more stubborn areas of my head by using a straight razor, something I havent seen anywhere else and to great effect! An excellent cut with a great atmosphere run by good people. Cant ask for more than that!

Best barbershop Ive ever been to. A great location in downtown SB with tons of history to look at in the shop. Truly a unique experience. When it comes to a real genuine barber shop, La Arcada is the real deal! I got my hair cut at this fine establishment for the first time in July of 2017. Daniel did an amazing job and I can tell that both he and Hank have a wealth of knowledge and experience doing what they do. They are both very friendly and fun to talk to. The antique barber paraphernalia that adorns the shop adds even more fun to the environment. I will happily drive an hour from my home in Conejo Valley just to have my hair cut at La Arcada.

Ive been going to see Daniel to get my haircut at La Arcada Barber Shop for a while now and it is always a great experience. Its a calm and relaxing time and the shop is located right in the heart of downtown Santa Barbara. I usually get my haircut on my lunch hour from work and always get compliments once I return. Daniel does a great job and is great to have a conversation with while you get your haircut. Daniel does a fantastic job! He is very welcoming and down-to-earth. He is one of the better guys I know and I would never go anywhere else to get my hair cut. Once I called him after he had already closed down the shop for the night, but he made time to accommodate me and cut my hair after hours - not many barbers would do that! 10/10

The two barbers there, Hank and Daniel, are experienced barbers and are excellent with their clients.Daniel, my now permanent barber, keeps me looking fresh and is a cool guy.
