Check the Better Business Bureau that says it all. They did eventually complete the work, weeks late. But we were calling constantly…..and it was painful. Had we not paid a deposit would have given up.

I am a newer homeowner and this has easily been the worst experience Ive had with anyone working on my property. I have a giant oak in my backyard - the salesperson, Jeff, referred to it as a grandfather oak - and I hired this company to trim and raise the limbs, mainly because there are several limbs directly over my roof that are easily identified as a risk to the property. They gave me an appointment for a Friday with almost 2 weeks notice. When they didnt show up in the morning, I contacted the company and was advised that they will get there when they get there and if they dont show up today, they might show up tomorrow. I work from home and Fridays are by far the most flexible day for me, thats why agreed to an appointment for that day specifically. They did not show up or call on Friday or Saturday. In the middle of the day on Monday, easily my busiest day of the week, they showed up, did a haphazard job, and left. They did not trim or raise any limbs over the 10 ft mark of the tree, they did not trim any limbs that were hanging over the house, they did not trim or raise any limbs that hung over the fences, and they did not inform me that they broke my side gate. I do not recommend doing business with this company at all.

My next door neighbor had to have a tree removed from her front yard. The entire process has been a nightmare from the beginning for her, as she tells me, but today it became a nightmare for me when I walked outside to find my new car covered in what appeared to be hard mulch. When I confronted them about it they said it was no big deal it happens all the time. I proceeded to tell them that they could have at least knocked on the door and asked me to move my car at which point they responded with “we didn’t know if anyone was home”…. Which I then said, you would have found out I was if you would have knocked! then the two gentlemen came and asked if they could use their leaf blower to blow it off my car because I was “too pretty to be mad”. On top of being inconsiderate to other people’s property, they are extremely unprofessional. They job has taken about a month or more to complete and has been extremely inconvenient for my kind neighbor. If I could give this service 0 stars, I would .

The guys who did the work were great! But unfortunately as things go my property was damaged during the process. I wrote an email to the company the next day and got no response for 2 weeks! I now am calling daily and still nothing. My property is damaged and since I chose a company that was licensed and insured I would think this wouldnt be a big deal. I can not even get a call from the owner or transferred to him. I would not recommend using this company because if something happens you are on your own

They did a protect in my community the guys work hard and quickly but they still need to do the stomp grind and it been more that 3 week since they did part of the job really disappointed with the company.it been a month that they did the work and still it finish.I call the company and they always said we are behind In the work we will callYou back but this never happen .the trimming guy are very professional and the quoting agent to ? But still don’t cut it if they don’t finish the job.

There was a signed agreement and scheduled time to have trees trimmed.No one ever showed and the front office acted clueless as to what was going on. The owner never responded or called back. I discourage anyone from doing business with this company. I see all the one star reviews and understand why everyone is disappointed. Unbelievable how some people run a business.

I am beyond satisfied with the work of this entire team! I had a huge pine tree removed in the back and a few branches trimmed in the front. They were all so professional, courteous and skilled! The Sun State Tree team did a great job trimming all the oak trees with limbs hanging over my house back as well as trimming palms and crepe myrtles. They were on time, friendly, and professional. Before we started we walked my property and talked about everything I wanted done and the team was open and engaged in the conversation. They did a great job trimming and roped all the branches so no branches hit the house as they were coming down. The foreman, Kevin, checked in on the project during the day and also checked in with me during and after to make sure the project was going well. They also did a great job cleaning up and raking before they left. Would definitely recommend.

This tree crew was incredible! They are extremely efficient, professional, and performed the service in a quick, clean and totally wonderful manner. We have used them 3 times over the years and are very happy with them. Highly recommended!

Think twice and ask questions (and supervise) before letting these guys cut and remove trees from your property.Theyll cut and remove trees (the only reason I didnt give them 1 star), but they will ALSO destroy your lawns, trees (not meant to be removed), plants, driveway, roof gutters, fences, decking, etc, etc, much of it completely unnecessarily just to make their job easier and tell you with a straight face that your insurance will cover it as collateral damage...but it wont.They did BY FAR (20-30X, maybe 50X) more damage than Hurricane Ida did.Its amazing to me that this damage is just supposed to be accepted as part of the job...no other profession/jobs (that I know of) can get away with this.

Came out and gave me a great price off the bat, didn’t have to haggle. Next day tree was gone. Brought in the big crane to remove the tree next to the roof, over the a/c unit, pool pump, shed, and grilling area. Removed all the debris as well, recycle. Couldn’t be happier. Hoped they liked the fried chicken I gave them lol.

I would highly recommend this tree service to anyone— Dustin and Dino’s team were very professional. We had tree branches hanging over our house that were in excess of 50 foot tall and they were roped down with exact precision. Cleanup was thorough and they cut and stacked wood for our fireplace. Great job!!

Was able to pick up some firewood as they were splitting it to order. We searched for a few hours at many stores. So thankful to have found Sun State. We will definitely return.

Bravo Sun State Tree service!!! Alejandro and his team came right after Hurricane Sally. They were able to remove 20 trees at my home without a hitch. Then they came to my business and removed a massive oak tree ready to fall off the bluff onto a neighboring business and possibly ripping up our building with the root ball. They trimmed two other 100 year old oaks and made them look beautiful! These guys are high quality, honest and hard working, they will get the job done and relieve the stress of tree destruction. Give Alejandro a call if you have any tree removal or pruning issues. You wont be disappointed!!!

Great job with cutting down the tree and trimming 2 others 3rd week of Dec 2020 a small job. Tree was cut and others trimmed in a little over an hour and great cleanup. They were to come the next week to grind the stump and remove the grindings. Their stump grinding machine broke and it took 3 weeks to grind the stump they came the middle of Jan 2021 as they only had 1 working and 1 guy that was busy and he finally came after calling many times (they had no ticket). But we are still waiting on them to pickup the pile of wood grinding. Have been calling every 3 days with promises they are coming in a few days. They again only have 1 guy and he is busy with commercial firewood. After 6 total weeks now the full job is not finished. Called today and left the salesman Chris a voice msg to pls call me as 3 office staff have been trying to help. So if you are using them be prepared that you may have to wait.

They did not finish the job took my money)2000.00. When I called said they sooner back 6 times never showed up These people take advantage the elderly are a bunch of scammers so be ware do not use them.

Alejandro is very professional and diligent on his work. He arrived on time to prune some trees in our backyard. We are very satisfied with his Services. I had an emergency and he did everything he can to booked us ASAP. We highly recommend it.

Do not use this company they stole our money... we paid a service 2 months ago (almost 3) with Kevin (supervisor) and they left telling us a Saturday, next Monday will be coming back and finish.. But guess what, they never came back or call.. I have been call for almost 3 months and Now now body respond... A friend of my family recommended them from Lake mary but I already told him what happened with us... so to me bad services... we paid 3600 and never return the 200 for the tree that they never came and cut.... at the office they never have a respond, they just said: “oh Kevin is the person that you have to call” But Kevin NEVER pick the phone....

Whatever you do, dont pay ALL the bill until ALL the work is done.

Alejandro and his team were absolutely incredible! After the devastation to my home due to Hurricane Sally, Sun State Tree, Inc. was my saving grace. They had all the right tools for the job. I had a tree lodged in my roof. The skillful team worked quickly and carefully to not do any further damage to my home. At one point, they paused to ensure everyone was on the same page before taking the tree out of the roof with the crane. I couldn’t believe the professionalism of this organization. They even went the extra mile to re-tarp the roof where the giant hole from the tree was! The price they gave me surpassed any other company. My insurance hadn’t had the adjuster come out yet, but they told me to just get the tree off as quickly as possible. When I told them the price, my insurance company was surprised by what a great deal I had gotten. This storm has put my family in a rough spot. I’m glad I had Alejandro and his team in my corner.Today is now 10/11/2020, nearly one month since Sally hit. I received a call from Alejandro saying they were back in town. He knew I had some other trees that needed off my property that insurance wasn’t going to cover. We just had a meeting to discuss the trees I need removed. Again, he has undercut every estimate I have received so far. No, I didn’t tell him what the other estimates were. He and his team will be by tomorrow to take care of these other trees for me. I will write another review after that work is completed, but I have no doubt that the work will be anything other than superior.It is now 10/12/2020. Alejandro and his team came by to remove three pine trees from my property as promised. Once again, they did not let me down. Their service is still second to none. Outstanding team of people who know what they are doing!I want to point out that it is extremely important to look into whom you’re having work on your home, especially in case of natural disaster. Companies have come by almost daily these last few weeks giving me insane quotes and just telling me they are insured and licensed. Sun State Tree, on our first meeting nearly a month ago, showed me their insurance, license, and their permit, to work in my area. This company has maintained transparency and professionalism since the beginning. They stand behind their work.In our time of crisis, it was refreshing to have a company that cared about my home and family more than their pocketbook. I am aware of the risk I live with by living so close to the Gulf of Mexico. If/When I see this type of disaster strike again, even though they are located in Florida, I will still call Alejandro and his team first for all my tree removal needs. The company removed a huge live oak growing next to my home with a crane, which by itself was pretty impressive. They were done by the end of the day and the left over logs were picked up the next day. The stump is going to take some work because its so close to the house but they did a great job.

They were contracted to do the HOA street trimming. They continuously blocked the road completely with the chip truck and lift had to wait a good 5-10 mins multiple times for them to move. No one had uniforms or safety equipment on or even looked like real employees. NO road safety cones or flaggers were used VERY UNPROFESSIONAL when theres 100s of local tree companies id give another company that actually cares a chance over this company. The Employees didnt care and looked rather rough wouldnt look you in the eye and tried to make you turn around rather then doing there job safely and correctly. There was no need to block the road other then them being completely lazy. The lack of safety Equipment and professional workers told be this company isnt the right fit for my personal property needs and for our HOA going forward.

Ive walked into their location several times and they alway have great garden items and great tree service rates. The people in the office have alway been help. Check them out when youre in the area.

This company did work next door and for neighbors. They had a huge limb fall on our roof and when we tried to speak with them about some guy some PorkChop (I swear that’s what he called himself) was just rude as ever. Since then they’ve cut our neighbors trees again and left debris all over our yard.

This company came to remove a tree for a friend. Halfway through they requested payment. Once paid they failed to complete the job. Bad review was left and they would only complete the job when the honest review was removed. Customers beware the company practices extortion of bad reviews to complete already paid work. AVOID!

I was not impressed by this company from the start. We hired them to remove two trees, stump grind the stump and roots and to haul away the stump grindings. I had to call them repeatedly to come and do the job once I hired them, then they came and cut down the trees and left all of the tree laying on the ground for 5 days before coming back to haul it away. Then I had to repeatedly call them to come out and grind down the stumps. Once, they finally grinding them, I called to ask them to remove all the debris. I was told they don’t normally do that unless it’s in our contract. So, I showed her where it said “haul away stump grinding” and she then agreed they would come out. The guy finally came out and took 3 loads away, but left me with two huge mounds of mulch to where I cannot possibly put down grass. I thought they were coming back. I called once again to complain and they said they were all done and will not come back!! I am very dissatisfied and should have NEVER pain them before the job was done! Lesson learned. Now, I have to personally haul away the grindings myself and this is causing me to not be able to put this home up for rent for another week. I am now losing more money!!!!!!!
