Brain Balance has been a great experience. The staff is so friendly, they really care about the kids. They are always available for any questions, concerns or even just to vent! Our daughter has been coming to brain balance for 6 weeks and we’ve already seen so much improvement. She enjoys going there and leaves so happy! As a Coach I have loved working in such wonderful hope filled environment. My niece has been in a program at brain balance for a couple of months. When I went down to visit her I immediately noticed changes from the last time I saw her. Her focus has increased drastically, her observation skills are amazing, and her school work has been going better. This is a very exciting and effective program. From day one I felt like the staff really had my back and were always willing to help. Nancy broke down the assessment in a way me and my mother in law could understand, and provided solutions to help my daughter. I love how they cater the program to each individual child, because they’re all different. Nancy and Jackie have both helped me find ways to calm my daughter down when she has tantrums, and they provide a lot of support along the way (even through the bad days). Front desk staff and coaches are always friendly, accommodating, understanding, and helpful. A few months in I can notice my daughter is a lot more calm, focusing more, and gaining better social skills. They give you all the tools you need to help your child be successful. If you’re into alternative therapy or not wanting to place your child on medicine, you should definitely look into this program- specifically the Lake Mary location! 😊

I have seen amazing progress in the growth and development of students who have attended and completed their program at Brain Balance. Students who were incredibly shy to opening up and becoming more independent, to students who struggled academically but then ended their school year on the A/B honor roll. Brain Balance was truly a saving grace. My son was struggling at school and at home. I was not sure what to do next and where to go. Everything we tried never seemed to work. He couldn’t focus or sit still. His fits and behavior where off the chain. I felt like i was failing. Going the medical route didn’t seem like the right thing to do. Once we started the program it was really a true commitment on my part and a bit expensive but worth every dollar spent as an investment in my child’s future. He is really progressing in school. Studying with him is a complete game changer. His behavior is so different. I have seen him blossom and grow into the kid I always knew he could be. He has achieved so much and i am so thankful. I cannot say enough about the team at Brain Balance Lake Mary! From the front desk to the coaches, they are just amazing! Our assessment appointment with Nancy went so smoothly. She explained everything about what was found in our kids assessments in language we could understand and we absolutely believe they can help our girls. After only a few short weeks, Im noticing significant improvements in both children. My younger daughter is already showing improved confidence, decreased distraction and improvement in completion of work. My older daughter has improved in her social awareness and confidence, confidence in her school work and organization of assignments. I have been a coach at Brain Balance for two and a half years, in this time I couldn’t even begin to tell you how many families lives have changed for the better. We at Brain Balance tailor an individual plan for every student that walks through our doors no matter the struggles they are facing. In doing this we give every child hope for success, which in turn brings restoration to families. Having the opportunity to witness the growth these children and their families are making is beyond rewarding. The staff in Lake Mary is awesome! I have 3 boys and they offer support to them all. They go above and beyond to help with anything I need.1year later....My high schooler is about to graduate with the best grades since elementary. Now my youngest son has started the program. My 9 year old daughter has been in brain balance for a month. She has improved in speed, strength and motor skills. Gigi, couldn’t even push a commercial door open. Now she is able to without any problems. Also, she is only taking 6 minutes doing her Kumon work! Before it would take her two Hours. Were very thankful for brain balance! Can’t wait to keep seeing her progress.Update two months later, she is now able to ride a bike without any training wheels. Before brain balance she wasnt able to do so. Better yet now she can do a back bend kick over!

I cant believe the changes in my son since he started going to Brain Balance Lake Mary. Id recommend brain balance for anyone looking to give their children the best push forward in life

My son has had roughly twenty 45-minute 1:1 sessions. My son has moderate autism and developmentally delayed. He cannot be left alone, he needs constant cuing on all or many tasks. He does speak but not --appropriately, meaning he cannot carry on a conversation like most typical children. HIs eye contact, self-awareness and his social skills are very delayed/issues. After two weeks of BB, he seems to be more interested in his surroundings and the people in it. His eye contact when speaking to him, has improved. He doesnt seem to be confused or lost in the eyes. The diet wasnt too bad to begin with since we have done this diet 2x before and have incorporate many items prior to BB. I see a big difference in snacking - it has decreased and less craving of sugar. The exercises at home are pretty easy to direct - he may not be perfect at them, but he is willing to do them with no fuss. I have noticed his an increase in core movement, enjoying his mini trampoline and biking more. His sense of smell as increased as well. He will make comments on my cooking and wanting to know what we are having for dinner. He seems to be more interactive with family and outside people, his communication is improving, always asking questions and when asking questions, his sentences are more appropriate, longer - not too many 3 words sentences. Ryan will continue on the program most likely for entire year since he has many deficits on both side of his brain but mainly right side weakness. I want him is to communicate properly with the world as well as feel his body so he can function comfortably in this world. I think BB is working for him. My hope for him is happiness - and a good life.

I had my reservations at first.. but sticking to the plan, diet & exercise has made a world of difference.. I recommend brain balance for SPD.. Ive been taking my son for several months now and I can honestly say Im glad we found them. Its been a place that has felt like family from day one. Everyone at the center is great. My son has seen improvements in behavior at school and home. His teacher was asking me what we were doing different because she noticed the change after just 2 weeks. Prior to BB I was getting notes home and calls from the school on a weekly basis. My son is a sweet child but has impulse and space issues. His focus and impulse issues improved, not 100% but so much better. We have had our ups and downs with the program. The center staff has supported us through it all.

Brain Balance was the best thing I ever did for my child. We were those skeptical parents but once I did the assessment and some of these were the same as he had taken at school and the results were the same I knew then they were not hiding anything and I had to take this chance. I wasnt looking for a cure. I was looking for improvement for my son and ways I could help improve his life. Well we have had an amazing journey. It started with the assessment and I was pretty much in tears because so many things were wrong that I didnt know because I had missed the red flags but Amanda was there for comfort, support, and understanding. A lot I didnt understand and I felt overwhelmed. She was always there talking me through each step. Telling me to be positive and we would be taking baby steps. He was in first grade and could read like dog, cat. I had spent tons of money, tried every kind of programming, tutors, etc. still no reading. Six weeks in to BB my son began reading. I think I cried most of the night. Called everyone in the country. And more and more improvements came. The diet was hard for me but Amanda helped me through it and continued to encourage and support me. Amanda encouraged me to put him in a team sport I thought she was crazy but did it based on her suggestion. Well now he plays golf, tennis, and basketball. Because of the support of BB and Amanda they worked with the school to get them to understand our son and what he needed. He is doing great in school. I just cant say enough about BB. The coaches there are wonderful. When I would be worn out Nancy was always there to the rescue. She would keep my son so I could have some me time. I did not trust anyone with my son because of his condition. He has alwYs been hooked at my hip. He would have a meltdown if I thought about leaving him with anyone but because Nancy was his coach. I trusted her and so did my son. She gave me the sanity breaks I needed. She pushed him hard at BB but she had the big heart and touch to love him but at the same time pushing him hard. He loved her and misses her. I just encourage parents to take a look at BB Lake Mary and give them a chance to make improvements in your childs life. Every child is different and results are different but if you do what is asked in the program with diet, exercises, motor time you will see differences. The Lake Mary team is amazing and I cant wait to continue to see them better the lives of the children in the area.

I learned about their program by attending a free event for parents with children who have been diagnosed with ADHD. Nearly every topic that was covered during that 1 hour basically outlined my LOs first 5 years. From the start they were informative, compassionate, and a great addition to our family atmosphere as we work through these challenges from a non medicinal approach.

I have 2 daughters with ASD, I have seen huge gains with both girls. The ladies at BB of LM support us in many areas and answer all our questions. They have been amazing with supplying our family with tools for success!

We are so thankful we met Brain Balance!!!! My daughter struggled through school. The anxiety of just beginning each school day was extremely high. She was 9 and had poor eye hand coordination, difficulty with short term memory, couldn’t ride a bike, often misunderstood what others were actually meaning unless it was literal and all of that compounded the anxiety and a feeling of inferiority among her peers. Being an elementary teacher of 30 years, I knew in my heart there had to be a better way to help her. I had tried many kinds of evaluations to discover what she was actually thinking in her brain to help her become more successful academically and emotionally. I had her evaluated for: speech and language, occupational therapy, vision therapy, got a 504, counseling, and academic testing. The school provided the support they could but it still wasnt enough for her to feel and be successful. She was attending the same school where I taught so she was getting the best of the best education could offer. Her teachers and support team bent over backwards to help her and I can never thank them enough for all that they did. However, the support wasn’t enough for her. There just HAD to be a way to help her!!!Again, thank goodness we met Brain Balance!!!! After her evaluation, the principal gave permission for Brain Balance to be a Tier 3 Intervention and I was allowed take her out of school an hour early to go to Brain Balance.We were only a few weeks into Brain Balance when I realized our first breakthrough- with tears in my eyes, Natalie was actually doing something she was terrified to do – she rode up and down an escalator in the mall. She was so excited that she did it again and again and again…Sure there are peaks and valleys with any learning curve, but what she can do now is AMAZING and I attribute it all to Brain Balance. She can now: play with more than one friend at a time, ride escalators, happily dresses herself in the morning, write small, track words on a page, multiply numbers, comprehension has soared, tie her shoes, ride a bike, go to sleep without getting up again, work independently for longer periods of time, ice skate, roller skate, enjoy coloring, do monkey bars, bounce a ball with one hand, and the list continues to grow. We’re not even finished so I can’t wait to see where she ends up!!Finally: relief, a happy child, a happy family, a child that loves to learn!

Brain Balance has been such a blessing. Our son was diagnosed with ADHD & anxiety. Every school year, it seemed hed lose two years worth of learning. Hed get to two years ahead by the end of the school year, but by the new year, hed flounder. The teachers and doctors just kept throwing more medications at us. Weve always known he was gifted, but the schools never saw it. They saw a busy boy. With the help of Brain Balance, Eli has been able to come off all of his medications and he has learned coping skills when anxiety strikes (much less often than before). His angry outbursts have lessened substantially. It is refreshing to see how happy he is. I heard him laugh about halfway through the program. We had forgotten how rarely he was laughing. It was a beautiful sound!! He is less clumsy, too!!

Its really difficult to sum up into a few words how thankful we are for brain balance and how much its changed the life of our son and our family. Marco started sessions the week he turned 5. Hes always been extremely bright and so loving, but hes had severe anxiety and couldnt handle change. He would even struggle and cry when getting a new pair of shoes or clothes. He also struggled with echolalia (repeating himself excessively) and had trouble communicating. When we spoke to him he would sound like he was reading from a script when hed respond (we could tell because hed be quoting cartoons - even with the accents of characters haha). He just couldnt figure out how to form spontaneous dialogue. We were at the park and he went up to another boy and said Hey friend, its Marco. Other kids didnt know how to respond to him - but even if they did and said hi, hed just repeat the same thing - Hey friend, its Marco. It was sad to see him struggle to connect.After the first couple months of Brain Balance, his preschool teacher pulled me aside to tell me that she was seeing a change in him. She said when the school year started he wouldnt talk much at all, and at recess hed play along side the other kids but not interact with them. She said now he has a best friend and when they go out for recess shell hear him yell excitedly to the other kids to play. My heart about burst hearing that.I can also have an actual conversation with him these days. He no longer reads from a script.Weve had friends, family, and primary (church) teachers notice a difference in how much more social hes become.Also, an enormous change weve seen is his willingness to try new foods. When we started he was only really eating ritz crackers and drinking milk (other than when wed let him have dessert, but even then he was unbelievably picky). In the past, if we forced him to try something he would gag and throw up, then hed go into his room and climb under his covers and fall asleep. My husband and I agreed that we knew he would be such a happier kid if we could just get him to eat a normal meal. Brain Balance helped us work on getting him to smell things and open his smell sensory.We still have a ways to go, but the change in his willingness to try new foods has been phenomenal. And he is a happier kid.The change that Brain Balance has brought to our lives has been a miracle to us. We love the staff in Lake Mary whove been working with Marco. We can tell they truly care about him reaching his full potential.I know there are some things Im leaving out of this long review (because there are just so many wonderful changes happening) but I do want to add this.... when we started the program, I felt like I had to come to terms with the fact that I have a child with special needs - of course, not that theres anything wrong with that at all. You just worry so much about your kids and dont want to think anything could ever hold them back from becoming anything theyd like.About 4 months into his therapy, I realized I no longer have a kid with special needs. Hes changed for the better. He is still the same sweet and silly boy that we adore, but without the anxiety.I am forever grateful to Brain Balance. ❤️

I am so grateful God blessed me to find Brain Balance.As a then newly divorced single parent, the struggles really began when my daughter started 1st grade. The frustrated teachers initially began telling me she wouldnt listen. Said she was a good kid but was unfocused, easily distracted and inattentive. All concerns I had already been struggling with at home and thought to be only disciplinary issues. By 3rd Grade timed test would also cause her to freeze up and she would get stuck on seemingly unimportant task in class, like drawing perfect lines on her paper. Homework, especially math was even more of a struggle. Even though all she really wanted to do was have fun running and playing with her toys, at times she just seemed extremely intelligent and mature. However, when math was pushed on her, she would revert to a fetal position rocking and screaming under the closest table. Some told me she was faking to get out of doing any work. Others, including my ex said I was spoiling her and she needed more structure, discipline and/or spankings. I was struggling and yearning to hear Gods voice.So God used my mothers conversations with neighbors to lead me to a child psychologist who just happened to live across the street from us. She tested my girl and told me ADHD and Aspergers are keeping her from reaching the level of Gifted. She told me Aspergers, high functioning autistic spectrum, is rare for girls to have and I should take her to a Dr for an official diagnosis. The Dr. listened to our story andprescribed drugs and patches that ended up taking her personality away. With additional testing we learned SPD, Sensory Processing Disorder, was the cause of her oversensitivity to pain, heat and not being able to fully process information. Her school put her on a 504 plan so she could take her time with lessons, sent a tutor to our house to help with math and stopped giving her timed tests. Yet, I knew there had to be more that could be done. I pulled her out of public school and chose to homeschool her from 4th grade on. It was wonderful at first and then became harder as each year progressed. In 6th grade she got to a point where she wouldnt do any assignments without me being involved in some way and when my job started causing me to have to work even more hours outside the home...it got much much harder.Then it happened, by chance in 2014 I heard about Brain Balance and when the location in Lake Mary opened in 2016 the PLSA scholarship was all setup and my daughter and I were excited to go! In Lake Mary, Amanda, Nancy and all the ladies at Brain Balance were so supportive. They welcomed us with open arms, calmed my frazzled nerves. Like they said, she did get worse at first and then about four weeks in the first jar dropping moment happened. When given an opportunity to go running to a McDonalds play land she turned it down! Very calmly stating she shouldnt go without grownup supervision. Is this the same girl who had been constantly running around like a dinosaur making raptor and hissing noises since age 9. Within weeks she into the highly intelligent helpful and happy 13 yr old I always knew she could be. The best is when everyone else began noticing the differences and new maturity... Its just such an ultimate feeling of confirmation, validating my faith in God and my child.Now were ready to begin the next leg of our journey with the Winter Garden Brain Balance. Nancy felt her genius could benefit from yet another 6 month session and were excited to see just how far God and Brain Balance can take her now.
