I rent cars on a regular basis for business travel and the only car rental agency I go through is Enterprise.Every branch has provided excellent customer service. Notably, the manager Nathan at the Valparaiso, IN location on Washington Street, has always gone above and beyond and he’s always willing to help. He leads his people by example. Also, Megan in Sandusky, OH was able to find me a specific rental in the matter of minutes after an accident.
Totaled my car and Enterprise worked with my insurance, so zi had a very nice car to drive during my settlement. Good people.
This place is not very accommodating. They rarely have the vehicle class reserved available. They also got rid of their night time key drop box, and are closed on Sundays. It is impossible to rent or return a vehicle to this location on Sunday. Being the only rental car game in town, they arent making customer-centric decisions. Staff is not very friendly either. The cars are never full of fuel. I rent from many airports and many cities, getting nice cars with full fuel tanks and much less miles than the old stuff they rent here.
Only had an issue one time, where like on an episode of Seinfeld they didnt keep the car I had reserved lolI dont understand. Do you have my reservation?We have your reservation, we just ran out of cars.But the reservation keeps the car here... thats why you have the reservation.I think I know why we have reservations.I dont think you do. You see, you know how to TAKE the reservation, you just dont know how to HOLD the reservation. And thats really the most important part of the reservation: the holding. Anyone can just take them.This exact scenario lol but I have used enterprise for years now and they made up for that issue as well. Funny stuff.
Was good but when you call and put a car on hold. They dont tell you . its an extra$ 300.00 dollars for a deposit.

My experience was great and the car was definitely road ready. I like that I was notified of picking up my rental earlier than scheduled it shaved off the time I was gonna be on the road in the late hours which meant tons to me and my safety.

Showed up, they wouldn’t let us in (Which with the current circumstances is understandable) but they made us feel like we were infected. Total comes up to the total they said it would be online, BUT WAIT there is a hidden $200 deposit you must put down as well, NO ONE TOLD US. Then they bring around a dirty, Nissan Rogue, my wife is driving on her trip, all the tire pressure lights are on, car needs an oil change. This was NOT a good experience, AT ALL! You guys being a company the size

Not very impressed at first. We rented a 15 passenger van to be picked up at 6pm at the location 35 min from our house, the day before we were to leave on vacation. I noticed it wasnt there when we got there. After waiting about 10 min they said it wasnt coming. What I do to understand is why it wasnt there that morning waiting for me to arrive? They ended up finding one back in our home town that had just been dropped off. So after driving back home we took a dirty, just turned in can that was on empty because we had no choice. For one they were closed and for 2 we needed the transportation for vacation. They did make up for it when we got home from vacation. They deducted certain fees, we brought it back empty, and they gave us $200 off for the trouble. I just believe this all couldve been avoided if rented vehicles arrive a lot earlier then the customers. But I am grateful that they did take care of is in the end.

The best Enterprise in have seen so far. The customer service was excellent. Specially the manger by Named Shawn(I suppose to be) the best person in the manger level.!! I had a great experience renting from this location! I was on vacation in the area when someone rear-ended me, leaving me stranded in the area without a vehicle. Originally it was going to be several days before one would be available for me to rent, but I was able to pick one up earlier than I was first told, and when I needed to change my reservation to drive the car back home instead of returning it here they were very nice with accommodating the change to my rental. They were also very helpful with making sure I understood everything about renting a car since I never had been through the process before, and making sure I felt comfortable in the type of car they were renting me.
Tyler was the best! Made my transaction so EASY!!! Ive dealt with 100s of rental agencies....and I think Ill make Enterprise my 1st choice!!! Great job Sanduskys Enterprise.

I just called to adjust my reservation a little bit. Talk to Tyler and he connected me to the proper paperwork people in reservations. Got connected to a very pleasant young lady named Ebony. Dont know where she from but she has a southern accent and was very nice we even talked about our dogs. Ebony got my reservation together and got my wat I needed so I just hope that when its time to pickup my 2 cars there is no problems. But I really wish I had the opportunity to ask Ebony where she was located cause I would call her boss and let him know that she deserves a raise. So thank u again Ebony for making that phone call easy and pleasant ur the real MVP.

The Ford F-150 was a great truck and met all our needs. Got good mileage for that type vehicle and handled the road great and very comfortable.However, we reserved the truck a day early for our trip and got a call just before we were leaving to pick it up that they didn’t have one and it would take 11/2-2 hours to get it.They got it a little earlier than the 2 hours. When we went to get into it. It was filthy-not ready to be rented to another customer. We have now missed 2 appts waiting on the vehicle and had to take it as is because of the length of time it would take to clean it up, only one person working!!! Not satisfactory😏We did ask for a discounted price for the above and they took $40 off a $350 rental!Not our best enterprise experience and I’ve given you several 5* reviews in the past.

We arrived to pick up an intermediate car (3rd from the bottom, not a compact, not an economy), only to find that our choices were a ford fiesta (!) or a full size truck. We didnt want to take the hit on fuel so we took the fiesta. Hardly an intermediate sized car. However, Brian was gracious and did his best, he offered to take a little off the price, told us we could stop at any branch on the route and swap. It was a short trip to chicago and back so we just buckled up and went for it. Not really comfortable, but it did the job and ran well. Couldnt get the BlueTooth paired.The employees at the Sandusky office are all very professional and do their best, it seems that they just need to have more inventory support from Enterprise. This is not the first time I didnt get the car i was expecting.
Enterprise excels at meeting the customers logistical needs, but to be the absolute best it needs to focus on the little things as well, like the cleanliness of their cars interior. On my car, the inside of the windshield and other interior windows were filthy, a mess. Its not good enough to run it through the carwash and vacuum the floor mats -- window clarity is extremely important for safety and makes the customer feel like they are valued. Windows, Enterprise, windows!!
First off, the two ladies that helped my wife and I were the most polite and kind-hearted people that I have dealt with in a while. I asked them a lot of question to ensure that we knew what we were getting into (First time renting a car) and they answered everything without being annoyed. We werent overcharged and never had any issues with anything else. Their customer service and the car (Which they bumped us up a grade for free) made the entire trip worry-free, as usually, I drive my wife insane with concerns when we use our car (Its really old). Great work, guys!
Good customer service but the last 2 times we have rented the vehicles werent very clean, cup holders were dirty, floors needed swept, dusted. One vehicle had a huge dent on the outside and someone spilled I am thinking nail polish on the inside.
Its alright if you need an emergency car.
We made a reservation at one hour and we had to wait 2 hours from the hour that we booked the car in the office. I dont know how they confirm the reservation when they dont even have a car. Another rental office different than the one in Sandusky works better.
When I got the car it was great, it was fast and we was out the door. But after 2 days of renting the car mt credit card was compromised and that was the last place I used it when I called the office I didnt get a call back so I called again and spoke to another person and was told I would get a call back and finally after a week I had to call back and was told to call corporate and I have called there 3 times and left messages and no one has called me back. I dont understand why no one will call and talk to me about the charges when its their fault Because they were just starting to use the new tablets and swiped my cat on it and then 2 days later I had over $150 of charges and no one calling me back!!

I have been renting from Enterprise for awhile now and have NEVER had any problems. Everytime I go into their office the customer service is AMAZING! Everyone treats you with respect and goes above and beyond expectations to make sure you leave with no problems. I would most definitely recommend their services to any of my friends and family whenever theyre in need of a rental car.
Great service from Laura. She let me know of specials I wasnt aware of and got me on my way. She was very busy but acknowledged me and handle my rental promptly. You cant ask for much more than that.
Good luck with they answering your call. They will never answer your call not even from the head office directly.I had to modify my booking and they were the only one who are authorised to do it.Enterprise cannot modify it for whatever reason.The worst rental experience ever their customer service is of no use their offices dont answer calls.
I want to say that Tyler is one fantastic employee (or manager, I forgot to ask,) I showed up 15 minutes before closing in search of a truck so I could take home some new furniture. He took great care of me and hooked me up with a very nice Chevy Silverado. He went above and beyond with his customer service, which was the first time I have had this kind of experience at Enterprise (this was my first time dealing with the Sandusky location, but the Amherst location could really learn a thing or two from Tyler.) Thank you for helping me out in a tough situation!
The staff is WONDERFUL even when there were no cars to be given out, the staff was so helpful and when a car was returned, they got it cleaned up and gassed it up within a few minutes. They have always been good to my son and myself. Thanks for caring about your customers.

My husband rented a car online and received a confirmation number on 7/11/2019.He was called two hours later by Tyler with the Sandusky location per Tyler they didn’t have any vehicles available? My husband asked for a call back Friday morning and didn’t receive one. My husband had to call Tyler back and Tyler told him that he would be put at the top of the list if they received any vehicles in. I called to provide my cell number to Tyler because my husband is a truck driver and works third shift so he laid down to rest. I called because we had not received a call and it was 5:00 pm on Friday spoke with Chad a rep. I told Chad my name and asked if there were any vehicles available yet.I told Chad that I read their reviews and a lot of customers were just as frustrated as me and my husband were. We received a confirmation number and there was not a problem receiving call back to tell us they didn’t have any cars available! Chad stated he was new and every since he started working there this has been a problem and it must be at the top . Tyler gave me the same spill that when you reserve online you always receive a confirmation number and their store has to shuffle the cars around. I don’t know who he thought he was talking to because this is not my first time at the rodeo!Per Chad they would have a better count on Saturday and I asked for a call on Saturday morning. Guess what still waiting on that phone call . I forgot to include that when we rode by there were several rentals in the parking lot. Me and my husband are hard working people and I would hate to think that this is a race thing because we’re African American or to think that this business in Sandusky Ohio only caters to a group of certain people!!We have rented several cars from this company before. Disappointed customers!

Employees are messing around with people that are not from America, worst experience i ever had while trying to rent a car.
In the past I have always had above average experiences with Enterprise when renting a vehicle for trips as well as insurance claims. Recently, I had to rent a car from this location and it was by far the worst experience that I have ever had with this company. I am giving it two stars because some of the staff was just as friendly as other locations in other cities and states that I have rented from. Others where a little distracted and rude; for example asking me a question and while I was in the midst of my response another employee walked up and proceeded to enter into a conversation with the man I was answering. He turned his attention immediately to them and completely cut me off. That was strike one, but Im easy going and the other staff members, one of whom was aware of what had just happened, were very friendly, so I just blew it off. During the week that I had the vehicle I had to return one vehicle to exchange it for another. While doing so I discovered a mistake with my insurance and called them to get it straightened out. The man in charge, Im assuming he was the manager at Enterprise, refused to work with my insurance or to even honor something that I had been told by another employee when I picked up the first rental a couple of days earlier. He made it very clear that they were a busy office and that they have cars moving constantly on the lot, which I took to mean that he did not care about helping me and my insurance company correct the problem until we could resolve it. He also told me that he did not believe that my insurance company would correct the problem and that I would basically be out of luck (while grinning). He said that he would be shocked if they did anything. Until Progressive could fix the problem, I ended up renting another vehicle that one of the nicer employees told me previously was covered by my policy. The man who had cut me off earlier told me that I would be paying over $2 a day for taxes. I just took the car because I had been there for over an hour at this point and was really upset. I had no vehicle there of my own, so until I got the situation figured out I was stuck. Well, my insurance straightened things out, like they always do (Progressive is great), and told Enterprise (twice) that they were covering everything and not to charge me anything. Needless to say they charged me anyway (about $28) by mistake, so now Im waiting for that refund. I know that its not much money, and that wasnt the problem. The problem for me was that they didnt care at all that I was experiencing a stressful situation and were not willing to do anything to help make it right, and they have a contract with my insurance. Normally, Enterprise has immediately stepped in to work with either me or my insurance company and goes above and beyond to help. This office does not care to do that. I will not rent from this location again. The employees who were nice and caring were wonderful. In my opinion, the lady who helped me through most of this, I believe Julie was her name, should be managing that office. Just my opinion. She just seems to carry the Enterprise attitude that I have experienced in the past better than the guy did. There was another man, and younger girl who were also very nice. I truly believe that if that one man had not been there, that the other staff members would have worked with me and gotten me out of there without all of the stress.

Hate this place, we always get overcharged for everything. If it wasnt because it is close to location for us to get the vehicle there I would not rent from there. I do not recommend anyone renting a car from this place. Horrible service! Horrible rates!! Hopefully someone will come in and audit this place to see how they charge the rates and how its convenient for them to over charge their customers.
This by far is the worst car rental experience we have ever had. The first mishap was when we called to make a reservation for a daily rental and was told that we would be picked up from the Sandusky KOA at 3:30 pm and the driver did not show up until 4:15 pm. Upon arrival at the Sandusky enterprise location it was pure chaos. They didn’t even have a vehicle available for our rental and was told that we would have to wait. Finally everything was “ready” and we walked out the door at 5:30 pm. We had an attraction we wanted to go to that we needed to be there no later than 6:00 pm and we were really cutting it close. Since we are in the area with our motor coach it seemed ideal to use a rental car like I’m sure many other “campers” in the area do as well. We were told that enterprise has a pick up and drop off service. I asked if the drop off had to be the same place that we were picked up from and was told no they would drop us off anywhere. Their customer service is so horrible and we will never rent from enterprise again. Upon drop off we arrived at enterprise at 1:22 pm on Saturday and this location closes at 2:00. Again pure chaos, we waited around to finally close our contract was asked if we needed a ride back which of course we did. We told them we wanted to be dropped off at miller’s ferry and was told that because it was now 20 mins before closing that they could only drive us within a very short distance. Due to the fact that the drop off driver would have to get us to our destination and back before their closing time which we were never told upon this in our agreement. Then the gentleman proceeded to help other customers completely ignoring us and our situation, we still had to get back to the KOA campground somehow! Finally we said hey can we get that ride back to the campground and he said with irritation that it would have to be someplace within a 10 min window round trip. Ok we were only 1.4 miles away! He pulls out of the parking lot with excessive speed and you could just tell he was completely aggravated with doing his job and providing customer service. Now what if we were picked up and dropped off at a location further than where we were I guess that would have just been our problem and definitely not a concern of anyone there at enterprise because their work day was ending in 10 mins and that is all that mattered!

Great customer service, even the day I picked up my rental car. It was bad weather with tons of wrecks out and about, so yes they were busy. They got me in a vehicle despite the fact they had not yet called me to verify they had a car for me.

Enterprise wrecked our vacation. We had a accident with our van. We rented a van the specifically told us that they would give us a ride when we dropped off van. We returned van she said she not give us a ride I was left to walk back to amusement with a 7 year old kid. There were no taxi available due to amusement park being busy. Enterprises motto is we will pick u up. This was one of the most terrible things they could do. They also charged us for another days rental when we were told it was going to be a 2 day rental. Thanks enterprise I got a crying kid walking 3 miles.
Went to pick up a car that was supposed to be there by 9:30 because we were dropping off my dads car to get work on it, well they said it wasn’t there and coming from Norwalk so they’d pick us up at the dealership at 11:15. I called one of my friends for a ride and we went to tell them to just bring it to our house and they said they didn’t even have anyone to drive it, which means no one was actually going to pick us up at the dealership.
Enterprise is always courteous.They strive to get you in and out as quickly as possible.

Ive rented with these guys numerous times and theyve recognized me and been super kind and accomodating. Never had a problem with a car and I love the employees.
I had an overall great rather easy transition into a rental car after my car was involved in an accident however I recently remembered I had left my granddaughters stroller in the trunk of the rental car I was given. My husband called to see if they have it and they said they would call if they had it. How can they not have it since the car had been cleaned for the next customer. And how come we were not notified when they realized the stroller was in the car. We still have yet to hear from them. I am very disappointed I have to go through this and possibly have to buy another stroller and have to sit and wonder what else had been removed from rental vehicles that belonged to customers and they havent got the curtosey of a phone call for items found. Its not like you cant miss a big baby stroller. Id like to know where it is and who cleaned the car that they wouldnt have reported it.

Picked up in Toledo after I was involved in a hit and run, Toledo was awesome as for Sandusky Ohio enterprise the female asst manager was rude .we picked the car up it had cigarette Burns and lil Ash beside seat wen we returned car today shes wanting me to pay 250 dollar fee cause it was smokoed in.. Id like to add the gentleman working in Sandusky was great and gave us much respect and did all he could to help us out.
The staff at the rental location was excellent. The vehicle we rented was adequate, but the maintenance light was on for nearly our entire trip.

I reserved the car on line, when I arrived to pick it up, I had to wait almost 15 minutes before someone acknowledged me. There were more than 2 people working the front desk, it appeared that the phone calls received more attention than me. When I did get the vehicle, it was not close to the size I reserved. On my trip, the front wind shield (inside) was very dirty, I had to stop at Walmart to buy cleaning supplies, the glare was so bad.
If you are a fan of having your time wasted these people will definitely fit that bill. Horrible customer service, spent an hour setting up a reservation on the phone only to have to go back to the beginning when I showed up there. I was asked to perform like a circus monkey and jump through hoops to rent a car 20 mins after I arrived to pick the car up. I admittedly lost my patience at that point and stormed out, vowing to never return. I found that Kaspers in Sandusky also rents cars and 10 mins after arriving there, jumped through zero hoops and drove away in a brand new car at the same rate. Save yourself the inconvenience.

If you decline the optional insurance Enterprise will charge you anyway!I rented a car for a short 1 hour, 1 way trip to Cleveland from this branch. When I rented the vehicle I declined all optional insurance. Both my copy and Enterprises copy of the contract confirm this. Yet Enterprise charged me for these.I tried using the Contact Us page on Enterprises website to get a resolution to my issue. I received a form letter back saying I would be contacted shortly. I was NOT contacted.I filed a dispute with my credit card company. Enterprise fought this. In Enterprises mind, because I had signed the contract it didnt matter if I had declined the optional insurance or not. They would charge me for them anyway.I will never recommend enterprise. They will do nothing but steal your money.
