Waltons Saw is the kind of home-town family business that I love. Most of their business must be commercial accounts, but they are very welcoming to the residential customer as well. They provide a great sharpening service for those of us who go decades without getting our good kitchen knives sharpened. And, no, just using the steel on your knives is NOT the same as sharpening them.It would be great, however, for the man off the street, if Waltons posted their price/rate sheet prominently. Its always fair, but the number of inches you get sharpened can get away from you, and the next thing you know you have sharp knives and sticker shock. The same goes for hedge clippers, lawn mowers blades, garden sheers. The sharper they are, the safer they are, and easier to use. Visit Waltons is all Im saying.Youll be glad you did.
One of the few places left that does a flat or convex grind on cooking knifes which leaves them sharper for longer. I take my knifes in once a year and they remain sharp all year long! I recommend coming in and talking to Darren or Oscar if your looking for what type of knife to purchase, or if a knife is worth trying to refinish as opposed to replacing.
Good people good advise, reasonable prices.
A professional setup, nice people, and a fine knive collection. When you have it done at Waltons, you know itll be done right.
