I have been using Mill Valley refuse service for many many years. I recently had to call the office twice. I do agree that the customer service is very, hautie ‘and very defensive in their response.I can only imagine the kinds of calls they get every day,. I would like to say that in general garbage pick up with the way Marin has grown has become a very difficult processfor all involved including the customer. China isn’t taking a lot of our stuff anymore, plastics are overwhelmingly not recyclable, parking or just getting through the mini wagon roads that we have in Millvalley with these trucks is difficult at best, and let us not forget the unbelievable amount of traffic that occurs daily in our little hamlet especially during school time.I do think that management needs to have a serious talk with some of thedrivers who are really going down the road way too fast but I would also have to say that the tesla’s porches and various odd vehicles that come down my road are going just as fast. The only differences is it takes more time for the truck to stop.i’m sure there are legitimate complaints against the company from customersAll that being said I appreciate what our collectors can do and I try to be as kind in my complaint or query as possible.Ps :I would like to add that from my understanding l.that the drivers get paid eight hours a day and the faster they can get their job done the quicker they can get back to the corporation yard and go home perhaps that is not the best incentive for safe driving.I welcome a response to that last paragraph if I am indeed wrong with how I understand how your drivers work their day.Thank you

I continue to have pick up problems with Mill Valley refuse. They miss picking up my contents time to time and always give some lame excuse why they didnt when I call. My compost was not picked up two weeks in a row and this wasnt the first time they missed. They said the bin wasnt out. My compost bin has never left its location. This week my daughter has put biodegradable start packaging peanuts inside (they dissolves in water in seconds), so they didnt pick up the compost this week either. Now I have to pay $20 for them to come and collect three days late.

Very questionable customer service - I’ve left this review on Yelp as well, in hopes their mgmt sees and makes necessary changes...Weve been a customer for ~3 years and suddenly our service stopped - while we continued to pay. No phone, email, or letter notice of why. When called customer service, the lady was rude and instant to blame us for not properly placing the trash bins, she then hung up on me when I told her it was wrong for them to keep charging us though they had stopped servicing us with no notice. In the future, clearer communication would be appreciated BEFORE stopping service, especially if you keep charging us.

Their office staff used to be very nice. A recent call told me that she has retired. The current ones are not polite. If there is any issues, it is because the customer was wrong.But the truck drivers are nice.

I echo the previous reviewers negative comments. Very Poor service!Mill Valley Refuse Service refusal to pick up our recycle after rolling out an ill conceived and fatally flawed, program. Alternate weeks, one plastic, one paper...really.. You expect that to work long term. Our plastic recycle was rejected for the second week in a row because of two envelopes in in the plastic bin. Give me a break. We need to look for am alternate / competitive provider through city hall.

For the amount that they charge, they should be personally coming to my house to separate the recycling that they wont take if its not absolutely 100% to their spec. Theyre out of control and should have competition. Ridiculous and infuriating.

Reviews arent going to matter much as they operate in a monopoly as there is no other choice in Mill Valley (other than heading to the dump each week myself). The three stars should be 5 for reliability. They come. They pick it up consistently. Its not 5 because they raise their rates based on their inability to control their own labor costs and they force costs on you that you may not choose (green pale - I dont need one yet Im forced to pay for it). We need a competitor.

Thank you to the two men who found and returned my wallet with the $200 cash still in it, along with everything else. They work for the Mill Valley Refuse Service and they are such honest and good quality people. We need more people like them to help make this world a better place. 😇🙏👍

So disappointed for repeated failure to complete a service we pay quite a bit extra for. After many phone calls over several occasions and promises of getting it right the next time, not any better. Folks with bad backs could use a reliable service that removes and returns garbage a recycling up a driveway, but its not worth the tremendous aggravation and I have to bring the can up the driveway myself AND pay for it. Not worth one star.

I just had to cancel my garbage service all together.Reason: they didnt empty my can.I cant afford to pay for service that I am not getting.Their new system puts the slightly contaminated recyclables in to the land fill.That is so wrong for so many reasons.Shame on you for apeasing the Communist Chinese!

A dismal, inept firm - this is the fourth week in a row theyve picked up none, or only some, of the six green cans on our block. Perhaps half a dozen calls to their customer service (both messages and live discussions) have not changed this ongoing failure. Where should we put all this ladder fuel were supposed to be clearing? Thats not a question for MV Refuse - they clearly dont care.

One of the worst organizations I deal with. Terribly mean customer service. Unpleasant and not service oriented - you would think that the City of Mill Valley would reconsider their contract because they are so difficult to deal with.

We have a business in Mill Valley. These folks have been nothing but very helpful over the phone, and responsive to any requests we have. I don’t know why they have so many “garbage” reviews, but I would chalk that up to stuck up Marin people...

Came outside to find one of the trash containers blocking my gate.Same crew dumped trash in the carport.No excuse for this vandalization of my property.If (?) something didnt please them - this is not how to handle it.A neighbor may have it on surveillance video.
