Again stop cutting the hair too short. I even should the gentlemen a photo of exactly what I wanted. I look ridiculous with short hair on top. I had 6 -7 inches on top. Wanted a fade with a comb over. Not even close.

I was visiting from out of town and got a haircut from Kay (K?). Over a week later and this is still one of the best cuts Ive had from anywhere in the past 5 years. Back home, I try a new barber nearly once a month and come away with so many negative experiences (i.e. stinking of cigarette smoke while loudly complaining venomously about colleagues and heedlessly chopping any old shape out of my hair regardless of my requests is the NORM for a $50+ cut back home). But here at The Shop, Kay was professional, personal, present and .. just really cool! She made me feel instantly relaxed. We had a pleasant chat while she was attentive to the cut, and she made sure I was happy with the results before I left the chair. The space was very welcoming. And the price was incredible given the quality, service and location. Im confident that the next time Im in town and get a cut here Ill have the same experience. Very pleased.

Went in for color and cut on July 13. Colorist told me she is not doing color but would have another person do it under her direction. Color was awful. I also wanted a bob cut. The cut was much worse than the color. Looks like a child cut off chunks of hair at all different lengths. It’s so bad I don’t want to leave the house. It will take months to grow out before I can get a proper cut again.

Recently dyed my hair teal here, and service was above and beyond! Worked with my complicated hair situation and managed to turn my hair an even better color than I could have imagined ! My stylist was very knowledgeable, patient, and an amazing person all around. So happy with my results!!! Will def be coming back

The shop is great. Very professional. I took my two kids here after them getting their hair butchered by two other salons. They sat them down and gave them the best cuts they have ever had. Actually my mom liked them so much that she went back to get her haircut too. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for professionals who take pride in their work.

Went there for a haircut on Sunday morning. Waited about 10 minutes, not bad. An Asian guy cut my hair. He was all the way very serious. The whole process took about 5 minutes. My hair didnt even get cut EVEN, for $32! Now I am wondering why any guy wants to come to this place to get a haircut cuz you can get a much better haircut at a couple places close by for a much cheaper price with a much better service!

When it comes making rash decisions about going short, don’t do it. Consult an expert first. The expert I consulted was Shizae (sp?). SO glad I did! She is a master of her craft and I’m THRILLED with my much needed mommy makeover. I highly recommend her as a stylist. She’s got it down pat! Thank you Shizae!

Great cuts, Friendly staff, nice decor. They do a great job with scheduling. Complimentary beverages before and during your cut, hot wet wipe and lollipops after your cut. In the unlikely event you have to wait for your appointment, they have several tvs to watch. Thank goodness we have this place in San Rafael.

You dont need to have tattoos and a rockabilly style to come here! If you like getting your haircut, this is the place for you.The style of the Shop is amazing and the staff are very friendly. They will more than likely cut your hair while youre here, so be prepared for that. They also do color which Ive seen one or more times.Man? They got you. Woman? They do that too. Child? Come on in - they will cut any hair. Non-binary? Well if you got some hair to cut they will happily do it.The prices are reasonable - Im coming from Great Clips which tells you Im 1) Cheap or 2) Dont care about my hair - which Im neither by the way. But point being, the Shop adds another level of service and consistency you dont get with high turnover Great Clips or Supercuts or your elderly grandmother.Prices arent bad - like $28 for a mens haircut. But worth it in my opinion.If youve read this far you deserve this tip - they will serve you one beer if you ask.

Pretentious and over priced. But the kids felt cool going there. They dont take appointments and you will always wait for a service. While they do color, if you dont get there right when they open on a day when they have a lot of stylists working, youll never get in. They have a dog. Heres sweet.

Not sure but I kinda like that they only do same day appointments good because you don’t have to worry if they are a month or more booked out bad if you really need them and can’t be able to make the same day appointment recommend being the first one to get your pick and you can always call to see what if your stylist will be in the next day they have cut my hair short fade shaved nice clean fade and my wife’s hair and my daughters hair twice definitely a great place for a cut

This place has gone down hill big time. Terrible service and a normal haircut went up from $28 to $38 I’m gonna find a new barber and I suggest you do the same.If you do go… ask for Tron, he’s super friendly and he’ll give you a deal if you get only the sides done.

The couple times I’ve been here I’ve gotten great service, an excellent haircut, and a solid price; couldn’t ask for more from a barbershop.Update: This has been my go-to barber for over a year now and I continue to be consistently satisfied!

The worst cut I’ve ever received. Lobsided and missed a chunk of hair while taking too much of the other side. Short staffed and in a big hurry. Didn’t really take the time to do a good job because they were trying to get to the next person. Mind you I had an appointment. Two days before my wedding. Went to another place to fix it. First and last visit.

Hair cut started out great!! She seemed to understand what i was looking for. She said Im gonna cut one side then the other side after I know its right. OK i thought this is a first but whatever. After my right side was done she says OK how would you like the other side? I was shocked and replied calmly i want it symmetrical . Ive NEVER had to say i want both sides of my head to be the same. At this point it was clear she was completely lost and didnt know how to finish. This is the WORST haircut Ive had and Ive had alot recently BUT I didnt have to tell them make both sides the same and I left with even cut hair.my hair is now to my eyebrows in the front half that in the middle and the back of my head is like a 4. Everyone I know is like WTF! Who cut your hair???im nowLooking at having to cut nearly all my hair off JUST so it grows back even .horrible horrible experience

Better than my old place at a better price than my old place. If you do go ask for Jen she gives great cuts. Just make sure that you dont get that one guy every one complains about.

Making an appointment is a bit confusing but definitely worth the inconvenience. There’s turn over of staff but everyone is always pleasant, knowledgeable and does a great job.

I have been coming here for a while now and the out come of my haircuts have gotten worse and worse. I came in asking for a bit off the sides, blended with the top. I specifically asked for the top not to be touched. I even came in with a picture of how I wanted it. The guy went ahead and cut off a hole inch and a half from the top and still charged me 28$. I am very disappointed and will never be returning. Don’t let Trung touch your hair.

Beth was awesome!!! Just a word of warning, call at least an hour ahead and get your name on the list. Walk-ins are welcome, but you may end up waiting a while.

Didnt get a hair cut there but i came in at 5 minutes after i they open and took a sit with my son, after 15 mn of waiting i ask the person in the front desk if i their was a list, she told me that their was a list and she has openings until 1 pm, i told her i was waiting for 15 mn and she simply replied with im sorry the phone has been busy and didnt have time to look ovethere!! They only had one person work in the weekend.
