I had called this company Friday night about fixing my Honda Odyssey.They had told me that they wouldnt be able to get to it until Monday and to be there early in the morning, well its Monday and I get there by 830 and I was told they wouldnt be able to do it today!.. and it didnt even seem like he was doing anything but sitting in his office doing who knows what. Well I do not recommend this place for your mechanical needs.

Love the people here ... I use U-Haul trailers frequently and their location is outstanding. I used to have to go all the way to New Braunfels to get a U-Haul trailer and the wait there was way too long. Here? Im in and out in nothing flat. Prices are very good and the service that Rudy and his wife provides is very helpful and you cannot find friendlier people.

I was going through San Marcos on a business trip when my cars electrical system locked up. My car would not go faster than 40 mph. I googled automotive places close to me and Rudys came up. It was after 5 pm so I had little hope anyone would have time to look at my car. Went to Rudys and told them my issue. Rudy went and looked at my car right away. He was able to clear up the problem with my car quickly. He charged me nothing for this. I was beyond appreciative! Its hard to find people like him these days! Highly recommend Rudys!

Wonderful experience. I was given the run around at another place returning my uhaul, and I drove past theirs. The place was closed but the owners saw be driving around and followed me in, opened up again and walked me through the check-in. Incredibly friendly and helpful. Would recommend to anyone.

Rudy was great he told me what I needed to replace now and what could wait. Gave me a price that fixed not just one issue but another. I know how to work on cars and it was nice not to be down talked to regarding my car. Im a customer for life, Im so glad I found this place.

Our sons are in college at Texas State and needed to have the car looked at. We are in Houston. I read a few reviews and picked Rudys to call. Rudy looked over the car, told us the car was not worth the repairs that were needed. We decided to donate the car to a charity. Rudy allowed us to leave the car on his property until it was picked up by the charity, Make-a-Wish Foundation.Very nice, honest, pleasant people. I HIGHLY recommend Rudys Automotive

The BEST and Only place to take your vehicle. My husband and I will only let Rudy work on our vehicles. We live in Austin and drive to San Marcos to have them worked on. Rudy and his wife are so very helpful and nice. If you need the job done right take it to Rudys Automotive

Don’t know if Rudy was trying to throw out such a big price to get me to take the bait, but Rudy never even looked at my car before trying to tell me what needed to be repaired and slap me with upwards of 600$. I asked for a simple diagnosis and which I think was priced at 30$(On the wall behind the counter). In the end, he came up with an excuse to not do anything to my car and get me out, I guess.

This place has great customer service and the prices are much better than those in downtown San Marcos. A diagnosis of the check engine light revealed a problem with the air-fuel ratio in the engine. Rudy discovered a vacuum leak and had my car fixed in a few hours. The total was $94, less than the cost of a diagnostic at some places downtown.

I have to say I talk to the actual owner Rudy early one morning as they was just opening up and had a noise coming from my motor didnt know what it was new noise but Im traveling and I pretty much stay in my car all the time anyway he asked me a few questions like where you staying at and I told him Im behind on bills and fines and theres a lot of things and he said well he wouldnt really be able to look at it till Monday imagine people know already that hes a good person as long as well as a good mechanic furthermore he told me what to do about buying the parts at AutoZone and fixing it myself said its a really easy job said it would only cost twenty bucks he came out and showed me took time out to show me how to do it and he said or you might even be able to use WD-40 and I asked him if he had so he said hold on and he went and got his own materials and sprayed it on there and just was really really polite wasnt concerned about trying to get in my pockets and I really thought that was really nice of him so out of all the mechanics in San Marcos I recommended Rudys automotive mechanic King right here because hes a good person hes not out to get in anybodys pockets and I read that on him hes a good person thank you Rudy

Its not very often one can find a really good mechanic like Rudys, and have really great satisfaction of having your cars many problems fix correctly - every time - and not get taken with a padded bill.- but, if you get the idea at Rudys Automotive -where, when he says he will check it out and let you know what the fix is - and given the go-ahead, even without asking the price, it will always be fair - and the results better than expected. Thats the place you want to go to - and I have for 12 years!With all the mechanics around I know, few have the hidden quality of a real car repair expert - in my opinion, the folks at Rudys Automotive show. They now are located on the s IH35 access going toward wonder world drive. You wont be disappointed and you wont be surprised when having your car repair work done at Rudys - thats really true! Great place. My water pump failed and began leaking, along with a busted radiator, they had it running the next day! Quick and friendly.
