My 1st time getting services at Lus Japanese Car Specialist was more than amazing. I had driven my Acura to several shops who either didnt want to service my vehicle or didnt have time for an estimate. While waiting in line, Lu came and introduced himself to me, asked how he could be of service and accommodated me with getting home. Not only did Lus technicians show me what I thought was bad but identified a leaking radiator and other items. After showing me all of the things I needed fixed, Lu used his shop owners network to get me new tires as well. I am completely satisfied with the services and repairs but even more impressed by all of the technicians prompt and professional knowledge, skills and customer service support. I will always take my vehicle back to Lus Japanese Car Specialist. His prices were even better than expected also. I wish he specialized in Denali yukons. I would stop going to the dealership. Thank you Lu and staff for taking care of me like I was family.

Lus Japanese Auto is legit. First auto shop I have come across that truly looks out for the customer & their car. I had been to numerous other auto shops in the San Marcos area and none have come close to the quality and pricing you receive when you go to Lus. Its kind of like when you find a good hairdresser you wont get your hair cut by anyone else. After visiting Lus I will only come to Lus. Seriously, if youre looking for a quality auto shop, this is the one.

I came to this shop because I had a idle issue with my vehicle for about 8 months. Me and some other mechanics could no figure out what the problem was after replacing many sensors and spending a lot of money. I finally have in and tried to look for a good ethical shop. It is scary taking it to a shop not knowing how they will treat ur vehicle. How ever here At Lu’a Japanese Car Specialist they found the problem that other mechanics couldn’t find in 8 months in no joke 1 day less that 3 hours. I will definitely recommend people here at Lu’s. I was in and out fast and with quality work . They even replaced a hose I noticed with no extra charge! Very kind and caring employees. We need more shops exactly like these !!!!!

I was looking around all over for an auto repair place to get my front rotors and brakes done because every time I used the brakes the minivan would shake heavily. I usually use People Boys but I called San Marcos and Escondido and both locations couldnt take me in and even worse, I received two different prices quotes?!?! What?!?! Then checked Google for a 5 star rated car shop and spoke to Lu. Wow!! I explained the situation and he took me in just like that. I had my own performance rotors and brakes and they got it done in LESS THAN 1 HOUR!! This included the replacement of the parts and test drive of the car. They showed me what was changed and gave me the old parts. Lu was friendly, courteous, andvery professional. He had his techs get to work. The minute I came in his tech guys took the keys and drove the car straight in. Double wow! If I can rate this place more than 5 stars I would. Today, Pep Boys lost my business. Lu not only gained my business but a long term customer as well as someone who will be referring my San Diego family and friends to. Thanks again Lu!! By the way, his prices are reasonable and his work ethic is honest. Hes been doing this for 30 years! I highly recommend his services.

I have been taking my cars to Lu for years. A 2006 Hyundai Sonata and a 2010 Honda Pilot. Lus shop is simply the best for any Japanese or Korean car. Even had him and his guys work on a Mercury. What sets Lus shop apart are the fair prices, customer service and speed of repair. My brake pads last years and have saved me several times in split decision situations. I can highly recommend this shop.

I found this place a couple of months ago because Infiniti of Oceanside wanted to charge an outrageous amount for a front end brake job! These guys are nice, very reasonably priced and will get you in and out with very little hassle. Dropped my Infiniti Q50 off on a Friday morning at 8:45am, done by 11am. I walked to Dennys right down the street and had breakfast while I waited.

Though I live in Carlsbad, it turned out to be worth the drive to San Marcos to have Lu and Jimmy work on my car. A better price than local mechanics for my budget and quality, individual care for my car. A good deal, a good feeling, and my car is running so well now!

Weve been taking our cars to Lus for about a year now. Hes really friendly, phenomenally fast, and drastically more affordable than anybody else BY FAR. We usually call other places first to see their pricing, and without telling him our quote Lu always has a price for at least less than half. I highly reccomend Lus.

I got my coolant flushed and changed a couple weeks back. They did a great job and were much cheaper than the other places around. I definitely will be coming back.

The name of the shop is Lus Japanese Car Specialists - I just submitted an update to Google.Ive been coming to Lu for service on my Subaru Forester for over 6 years.Its a small shop, and Lu is in charge, so expect personal service and no frills. Lu will greet you and quote the job, then go back to fixing cars and running the shop. Dont expect a fancy waiting room with a pretty receptionist offering you coffee. Youll get some comfortable couches and some magazines, and good work to go with it.Belt changes, brakes, oil changes, tune ups, hes done quite a bit of maintenance and repair work on my car. I have been very happy with his work. This is my go to shop in San Marcos.The service is fast, the pricing is fair, and Ive never had to go back for rework. He almost always is done with the job earlier than expected - Ive never had him keep my car due to a missed deadline.Lu will usually show you the issue, and then quote you options. If you dont want to fix something that he finds, its up to you. Hes also offered to use a variety of different parts depending on the repair.A couple of specific examples:- I went in for break repair a few years ago. My pads were gone, and had done some damage to my rotors. Lu showed me the damage to the rotors, and offered to fix with dealer parts, use an off brand substitute, or leave as is, and have them chew up the pads. I went with the full repair, but it was my choice.- I had a belt break yesterday coming off my alternator. Mildly exciting, I was dropping kids at school, and had lights flash on and lost my power steering. I came to see Lu, he had me fixed and out the door by 10:30 so I could go to work. While working the alternator belt, he noticed the A/C belt was also seriously worn, and offered to fix it. Cheap job, and I appreciated him offering.Im happy to endorse Lu and was a little surprised to see some negative reviews.I think most are coming from the Yelp users that found him via cheap coupons in the clipper magazine. His loss leader offers are really good, but that doesnt mean his normal pricing is unfair. Ive shopped around (and researched online) and Im totally satisfied with the prices Ive been quoted.A quick google search for any of the jobs will verify this - do the search on your smartphone while you are waiting if you dont believe me. I trust him and will continue to give him my business.

Lu has been such a reliable mechanic from the work trucks to friends and family I have referred. I have brought several vehicles to lu the first couple services I price checked and he beat all competitors hands down. He tells u everything that needs to b done without pressure to upsell. He is an honest mechanic I would recommend to anyone.
