Marilyn Sullivan came to my rescue in a very difficult situation. I was on the back side of an economic disaster precipitated by a challenging divorce. I had purchased the house in part to manage the capital gain taxes from liquidating. I had to move fast to make a 1031 exchange on an office building so I did not shop for the best loan. My payment went from less than $2,500 per month to over $5,000 per month when the interest rate floated. I had limited resources and would have lost the house and not have been able to replace it with something of half the value.
