Every time I need something done or have a car emergency it’s always great service! I Always feel like they treat me like family. I’ve been to a lot of mechanics and hands down Larry is the best! If you are having car issues you should definitely go here.

My name is Martise and I own a 1984 Cadillac Biarritz Convertible and I took it in to Townsends Automotive a month ago and just got it out yesterday. Ive been dealing with Townsends ever since it was located on Coleman and Taylor over 25 years ago. I knew Larry Sr. the owner back then and he was a great hands on mechanic. Larry Sr. had integrity and he would talk to the customer and solve issues in a timely manner. These days things have changed at Townsends Automotive, and Im not just talking about the location....Larry Jr. (the new owner) is unfortunately not nearly as professional as his father was. He does not seem to have any hands on experience like his father did. The communication from Larry Jr. was not clear and I felt that over the course of the 30 days I was put on the back burner and every time I called to check on the progress, I felt he was stumbling around and not clearly communicating what the problem with my vehicle was. Larry Jr. would never call me proactively to give updates, I was always chasing him for information. A few times I called throughout the month, and a woman answered and said that Larry Jr. would call me back that day and he never did. Unprofessional. Larry Sr. would never dream of treating a customer like this! On top of all this, when I asked for my used parts back that they replaced (spark plug wires, distributor cap) they couldnt find them and they misplaced them so I couldnt get my credit back from OReilys Automotive parts. They also couldnt fix my idle. The mechanics are mostly Spanish speaking and I could not communicate with them in English. So when I asked Larry Jr. to translate my concerns about my vehicle to the mechanic, it was clear that Larry Jr. CANT speak Spanish! How does this business communicate with each other internally?!?!? I suspect this is a major source of problems for many customers at this establishment. It looks like I will taking my vehicle else where from now on...

I had my cars maintenance service performed at Townsends Auto Repair. They were very professional and provided very good customer service. In addition, they informed me that some work I thought my car needed was not required at this time. I was happy because it saved me money.

Great local business with super friendly and knowledgeable staff. Weve brought our vehicles in for both routine maintenance and emergency service and in each instance they explained any required or recommended repairs before moving forward and have gotten the vehicles back to use quickly. Nice having a local shop we can trust.

Larry is a great honest mechanic who helped me out when my Kia had 2 broken struts. He got the difficult to find parts and made sure they came as fast as possible. He kept me updated about each part of the process and didnt overcharge me for anything including labor. I highly recommend Townsends Automotive.

Went in so they could check engine and cabin air filter, brakes, tires, tpms and airbag diagnostic. I was told they find out exactly what’s wrong with the car and the cost for one diagnostic is $150, so to run two diagnostics was $300. I was told they are a family shop and they take care of their customers. They called telling me that they couldn’t find out what was going on and they would keep trying. After the day was over, they gave me a paper that held no answers as they promised initially. They still charged full price! I felt I was taken for a ride, so to be sure I made an appointment the next morning with Nissan service center. I found out later that the price of the diagnostics was way too much. I showed the Nissan service center the diagnostic paper Townsends gave me and I was told it was inaccurate and wasn’t relevant to what I asked for. Also, the diagnostics didn’t have what was wrong, the part that needs to be replaced, an the cost of labor for replacement. It was just a bunch of non sense with different information to fill in the paper. The only thing that was close to right was the tire assessment. I talked to Larry and told him what was found by Nissan, he told me that my car had an electrical problem. I told him Nissan did a full check and they said the electrical is fine. I then told Larry from Townsends I’ll send everything I received from Nissan so he could compare his results with Nissan. And I hoped we could come to a fair refund, they gave me a full refund after all this. I’m sure if I didn’t take it to Nissan the day after I wouldn’t have received any refund and they would just keep taking money from me for nothing because they suggested to reset the car system and that it might not fix the problem for a cost of $250 and they stuck to telling me it was an electrical problem.

I moved here a few years ago and have had a difficult time finding a honest mechanic. If you have had the same trouble THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU. They are friendly and honest. Quite literally the best mechanic Ive ever had. Larry is always so jovial to talk to, and everyone is always honest and upfront about everything. When I needed to change tires, he gave me all the options and recommended that I go with a low-medium tier one to match the life span of my super old car, rather than try to convince me, an uneducated young kid, to buy the more expensive ones. A couple of weeks later, those tires EXPLODED on me on the freeway due to a manufacturing error. Not only did they exchange my tires with new ones, they even realigned and readjusted them (things I didnt even know that were affected and needed to be fixed!) If youre on the fence about trying this shop out, I can guarantee you wont be disappointed!

You better have more than one car you use if you choose this shop. Car was in the shop WAY too long....were talking WEEKS!Very busy shop & apparently not enough staff. Shop manager very nice & friendly, tho sometimes appears sometimes frustrated. In his efforts to make his customer happy, he TRIES to be helpful by promising a SHORT time span as to when car would be finished, but doesnt always deliver: When calling for status as the promised time approaches, or the the allotted time has passed, he sincerely apologizes and then EXTENDS the window out a little further (due to being busy), and so it goes again...again.Maybe the back shop needs a separate manager to monitor time so the owner/manager can continue with the great customer service he has and doesnt have to be bouncing back & forth, and cars can get out quickly.

Great location near downtown, so we were able to stay occupied while waiting for our vehicle. Larry called as soon as it was ready for pick up. I had a wonderful experience at Townsend automotive. The staff there is so pleasant and friendly, and they took good care of my vehicle. When a friend of mine had some minor body damage on her car, I suggested she take it there. Turns out they dont do body work, but they still took a look at it and were able to fix it for her in about 5 minutes. Awesome!

Had an issue with my car (radiator bad, but mightve been something else). They did not charge me a diagnostic fee or any sort of figuring it out charge. They just did what they were asked to do, replaced the radiator. However, what made their service above and beyond was their speed. They found that my radiator cap and fans were busted and replaced them the next day. Overall service took two business days even though they were very busy. They charged me for only the labor and parts, and was at a very fair price. Would recommend highly!
