I have used them in the past and they were reliable. But when I was really desperate with my 96 year old mother in a wheelchair..they left me stranded at the San Jose airport! I also booked a pick up for the next morning and they never followed through! What the hell? No wonder Uber is doing so well. They have a repetitive recording when you call…no one to speak to directly. When I did after multiple calls she was a dim wit! Still never sent me a van. I think they stink. Use someone else. American taxi came in five minutes..no appointment made.
Did you know Yellow Checker Cab has flat rates? You know before you get in what it will cost. I booked a 4:45a.m ride to the airport and was pleasantly surprised to find the driver at my place right on time. You can even pay from a link.
Cabs still have the advantage of book ahead scheduling which I find to be a great comfort when I need a ride to the airport. Yellow Checker Cabs automated phone system super easy to use and recognizes you if you have previously used the service. Text notifications let you know your cab is on the way.
I requested a Taxi Service on two separate occasions, and both of my experiences were great. The driver was professional, friendly and helpful with placing the luggage inside the trunk and taking it out for me. I recommend this Taxi company highly.
Best cab ride with a good driver. He was prompt and kindly waited as my van was being secured to a flat bed for tow to a repair shop. 👍👍I highly recommend!!
My brother has a medical ride every Saturday and they are late constantly you would think if it was a medical ride they’d be here in time but that’s not the case
SO ASIDE FROM ALL THE BAD EXPIRENCE IVE HAD THE SAN JOSE LOCATION IS THE WORST. I had called to schedule a ride a few days prior they were late and I had an appointment schedule and the person was way late. It was an appointment for my medical fragile child I found someone to give me a ride. I needed the ride back and they canceled my entire ride. It took me forever to talk to someone and the customer service was terrible they even made fun of me. I wanted to speak to a supervisor and they kept passing me in between them because I could hear them laughing about me in the background. Supposedly the calls are recorded so hopefully this can get the attention of management. I really suggest going through the recordings.

The driver dropped me off in the middle of the street, when I asked the driver where was the address at, he lied n said its right there, also he was on his phone the whole time, arguing with someone.

Called for a cab to pick up my car from the dealership where it was being serviced. Got assigned 6 different drivers within 30 minutes, each less than 10 minutes away from me. None arrived before I gave up!

The call was nice and the waiting time to get here was 15 minutes and the driver was friendly and know the area.

The actual ride was fine, the driver was competent, quiet, and considerate.However, the dispatching left a lot to be desired. I used the website to reserve a ride; At about 9 or 10 PM the night before, I made a reservation for 7:45 AM, which included my pickup and destination locations. My cab actually arrived to pick me up at 8:30 AM, and the driver had to call to get the pickup location. I had planned to arrive at my destination early, and instead barely made it in time.

I tried getting a cab from this company last night after I missed the last bus home. They apparently didnt have any drivers who wanted to come over to where I was (not an out of the way place, or a bad part of town). Great way to run a business!
The dispatchers a robot! And not a very smart one, either. After explaining to Rosie Rivets that I needed a ride and from where, I was supposed to get a text back when my cab started out, and nothing. I got a text saying thanks for using their cab company but nothing past that, the cab never showed up, nothing. On the bright side I learned to use the bus to go where I was going and saved a lot of money.Hahaha now the owner wants to get back with me, to have the cab come .... last Tuesday! The bus was much cheaper and 10000X faster so support your local public transportation or Lyft/Uber, friends!
They where quick and efficient
Ive never had a worse experience with any service in my life. I called to ask about booking a van for a ride to the airport and there was no option to speak to someone. I entered a few details and it said van-cab was booked (without it being clear that was going to happen). I called back and wrestled with the automated system and finally got through to someone only for them to tell me they had no record of my booking so decided to just get an Uber day of. Day of departure I get a notification saying my cab will come I called back and confirmed it was a van the guy said yes and gave me a quote. finally five minutes before it was supposed to be there I get a notification saying where it was and then someone calls and says its not a van and there was no record of asking for a van?!? She said it would be an hour for the van. I cancelled got an Uber XL/van it came 2 min later and cost was half of what the taxi company quoted me. Please save yourselves the headache and use Uber/Lyft.

Last night I was trying to get a drunk girl who lost her phone home safely and I called her a cab. She wasnt acting out of control or crazy but was just emotional since she was left alone by her friends and had no phone. Well the driver thought she was not normal and refused to help her and kicked her out of the car and drove off claiming I was acting like he was some servant when really I was just trying to help this poor girl out so I could also go home. He also claimed they dont allow drunk people in their cabs. Complete and utter BS. Never using yellow checker cab company again.

Worst service ever making an old woman wait over 3hrs and still waiting. First cab that came up couldnt take her unless she leaves her wheel chair which she can barely walk. So the person just left her outside in the freezing cold.

Made me wait for 2 hours. Customer Service has no control on drivers hence not really a big help, gives false ETA, hangs up the phone and not always sure of the locations. Try bay area local cabs - the small companies give more value to passengers compared to this big one.
Worst taxi experience ever.I called for a cab at around 5pm. The dispatcher told me that a cab would be coming soon. Then, I got two text messages from the service saying that a car had been assigned. The car that had been assigned gave me a call, asked where I was going, and said that he would pick me up in 15 minutes. 20 minutes later, with no taxi, I call the dispatch again and tell him the situation. According to the dispatcher, the person I talked to before lied to me (his words, not mine) and that two different cabs had been assigned to my pickup and that both later dropped it because they found other rides that they thought would get them a better fare. So, I had the dispatcher assign another car to me.The process seemed to keep repeating itself. I had received 12 text messages about cars being assigned to pick me up by 5:50. Then, I got fed up with waiting, called a friend to pick me up, and called the dispatcher to cancel just in case a cab actually was coming to me.10 minutes later (an hour after I first called for a cab), my friend arrived, and a cab did as well. Apparently, the dispatcher never told the taxi that was coming that I had canceled it. This left me to deal with a frustrated driver.I dont know what this companys problem is, but I suspect the main problem is poor coordination between dispatchers, taxi drivers, and customers. Another problem could be that drivers dont actually have to pick you up even after they say theyre coming to pick you up. I do know that I will never use this company again.

They have automated system in place that is an epic fail. Called a cab for 6 AM in the morning to go to the airport. No sms confirmation, nothing. And finally 6:05 am...nobody shows up. Thank God for Uber. Never depend on Yellow Checker again.
Horrible. I called for a cab and waited. I got a call back 20 minutes later and the dispatch person didn’t have my location that I had entered in when requesting a cab, then told me it would be an hour wait. She was very rude. It’s not a surprise why Uber and Lyft are dominating the market.

I have used this company my whole life. Wont be using them again. I left my phone in the cab and I was a fiasco getting it back. I am grateful I got it back of course, but not appreciating being blackmailed for it. The driver made me pay him $30 to get it back

Aftet waiting for over one hour for my cab, i gave them a call, just to hear someone screaming and yelling at me, this guy, i believe his name was jay or maybe rey, was so rude and arrogant. Yelling at me, are you listening? Can you listen? disrespectful and insulitng, and when i asked him for a supervisor, this guy just hang up on me, i will never use this company again, go for uber or lift instead.
Its Sunday November 6th, and I am still waiting in front of my job at 1 a.m. daylight savings time. I called for a cab 30 minutes ago, and still have not received one yet. This is why I predominately choose Uber. I cannot get a cab when I need one. Not to mention the price for the wait.
Unfortunately, if I could give this company negative 5 stars I would.Below I will go into all the gory details in the hope that you may escape their scam even though we didnt...I called to book a taxi at 11am on a Tuesday (4 passengers, 4 suitcases, and a carry-on bag per person) for a ride the next morning (a Wednesday) at 4:30am to SJC. We were coming from West San Jose; traffic is usually light at that hour, we were looking forward to an easy trip.I was told I was in luck because their one van was free to pick up my family and myself, and that it would be in front of our house at 4:30am sharp. We would be traveling with my 91 year old grandmother, so having an extra cushion of time was critical for us. I was extremely relieved to have found such a seemingly reliable and affordable solution to our transport needs.I rose on the morning of the flight at 3:45am and immediately called this taxi company to confirm our ride. When I dialed, I was greeted by an automated message confirming our taxi, and then a live employee came onto the line and double confirmed it. All that was left to do was gather my family, including Grandma, and wait in front of our house to be picked up... never easy at 4am, but we were all there and ready to go.At 4:33am, while standing in my pre-dawn driveway, 91 year old grandmother and all, I notice 7 missed calls on my phone display... and I thought, surely it cant have been the taxi company calling, we are all confirmed.It was indeed. Apparently a second woker at the taxi co. had been frantically trying to let me know that our van was in Los Gatos, had to go to the airport, and then would be coming back for us. If we could wait.Needless to say we could not wait, not at all. They offered no solution to the problem. It was left to me to offer ideas on how they could fix their egregious mistake.In their flustered frenzy, they ended up sending 3 cabs to us. The first was way too small, but we sent 2 of our party on their way; Grandma needed as much time as possible to navigate the airport.Then, and this is the part that makes me the most angry, they sent a Crown Victoria for the final 2 of us- a car all of us and our luggage could have easily fit into. To me, this seems like it would have been the obvious solution to their f*** up... but they did not offer it when they were frantically calling.I am not a person who is usually suspicious that other people are lying to me. My mind does not naturally suspect that others are manipulating me for their gain, but if I am to be completely honest myself, my hunch is that was their intention toward us ....We were set up to have to pay two fares instead of one. Otherwise why not offer and send a suitable replacement immediately?(The 3rd cab must have arrived to an empty driveway. I hope their dispatcher was more honest with them than they were with me.)My recommendation is to avoid these people at all costs.This was singularly the most unprofessional experience I have ever had with a taxi company, anywhere in the entire world. With the price of living in Silicon Valley at such a premium, one would think the taxi services would match. No, the taxi companies seem to be stuck in the cowtown era of San Joses past. No offense to cows.

Nearly run off the road by one of their cabs. Cab driver began to merge into my lane - with no signal. I gave a warning honk. Cab driver didnt hesitate, and instead did the full merge which would have been into my car had I not swerved away and braked hard. Didnt even faze the cab driver who continued on his seemingly merry way.I thought their argument versus Uber/Lyft was that their drivers are fully licensed and accredited? Not based on the driving I saw. Dont use!

We were picked up by HARI BHATTI driver # 61429246. He was on time, however from the moment he picked us up he was worried about his NEXT customer. He was texting her which caused him to swerve out of his lane, and very slowly. My husband had to ask him to stop texting, and drive. Fortunately we had an early morning pickup, so not much traffic. He said it was his next fair texting him, and could he call her. Since he did not have bluetooth, I said, sure, after you drop us at the airport. I will not be using this cab company again.

Cab # 1630 at 0620 this AM was all over road cutting in and out of traffic speeding and as he went by me the passenger threw up her hands...he then pulls into Menlo Park VS and goes to Methadone clinic...maybe was in hurry to get a fix very unprofessional
