After purchasing my first serger last year, this place was such a great discovery! Sherri was incredibly knowledgable and a huge help to me. She was also a wonderful teacher and was always a pleasure to work with. I really valued her tips/tricks. It is very clear that she and her husband are very passionate about what they do.

Ive had an absolutely fantastic experience at Serge A Lot. I got two sewing machines fixed there. One of the machines I had brought elsewhere, and they said it was beyond fixing. But I brought it to Serge A Lot anyways and they fixed it! They are so knowledgeable about all things sewing and sewing machines. They are also fair with prices. Small, family owned, so go support them! And youll be so happy you went there.

Great little neighborhood shop on Ocean ave. She has the highest quality sewing machines and vacuums that you can buy. Also, shell include a personal touch that the big stores cant offer. Miele and Baby Lock brands

Took in moms ancient Singer sewing machine. To make a long story short, it needed a tiny little screw that they didnt have in stock. Mom didnt want to wait for Sherri and her husband to search and order it and chose to take her ancient machine back. However, in the few days they had it, Sherri and hubby cleaned and maintenanced it. They didnt charge us since the missing screw is whats causing the problem. Their customer service is OUTSTANDING, not just good or great, OUTSTANDING! They both took the time to listen to us and were very attentive and concerned on how to meet our needs. Sherri even offered to teach my mom how to use my newer more modern sewing machine, for FREE. Wow, you just dont run into such wonderful people/business owners such as Sherri and her husband anymore. Definitely highly recommend them and will refer family and friends to them as well. (Sorry for the not-so-short story after all.) :)

I got my daughter a scarf from a play she was in and wanted to have her name embroidered on one end. After reading many reviews of different places on yelp, I found this place. I emailed and got a quote and verified the day and time I would make it in. She has a industrial machine, the work came out flawless and in 15 minutes. She quoted 1 hour in case the machine jammed. My daughter loved it. Im going to have to find other things to embroider. She guarantees the works so if it ever unravels you can bring it back to get fix.Side note, they have sewing classes if you want to start learning. #OneSmallStep
