This business is one of the more trustworthy Ive encountered in San Francisco. Had a carryon in for repair. They were very knowledgeable and helpful about my options. And then they were burgled and my bag was stolen...they replaced the bag promptly, and after consulting me extensively about the right model. Its rare to find a business that does the right thing...in the right way. I WILL be back.

Just picked up my third repair - a suitcase, briefcase and computer case zipper, and they did a great job with all three. Super nice, fair-priced. Very happy to recommend. Thanks guys!

Top shelf pro luggage repair. Has been serving SF for a long time, maybe 35+ years. For those who travel allot you should consider fixing, improving, or customizing your luggage at this place.

Dont trust these guys. Theyll claim we got you covered under warranty, dont worry about it. Then afterwards will slap you with a $14 bill per bag for a service fee and claim the parts are under warranty (a $1.00 zipper) when you come pick it up. This is an underhanded tactic and not cool.I highly advise you to stay away from them or beware of this game they play to get you in.

Impressive! Very fast repair (for a fair express charge) and my suitcase rolls better than before it was damaged. Very friendly staff as well. And these guys know what they are doing. Im happy I brought my suitcase to Main!

Might be better for buying than fixing stuff. The guy in the shop is nice which is why there are 2 stars.Came to fix my Samsonite suitcase which I thought was beyond warranty period.Key broke inside the lock. Suitcase was fixed after many weeks for $30. I asked them not to throw the broken key away in case i needed it for reference but still it got thrown away. After I got Samsonite to send me a replacement key I realized it cant fit into the keyhole anymore prob cos the repair person messed it up. In the end I brought it to Samsonite at West Field and had the whole suitcase replaced at no costs! (My suitcase was 2 years old)Lesson learnt: check with the manufacturer first, let this shop be your option if desperate.

This is one my favorite local businesses in ja-Cit-tay. I have had several things fixed here and every time I am just impressed beyond belief. I just had a broken zipper on my cooler backpack that they fixed in 24hrs...now its going back H)o(ME thanks to Main Luggage Service.

Negitive: I set up a date to have my backpack fixed after US Airlines ripped out the waist support belt from the frame backing. I called on the due date and I got a machine gun speed answer from a woman that had me question my dail. After confirming my dail I gave the woman my ticket number once she finished yelling at somebody in the shop. She told me she would look down stairs for my item, exactly 5 min later she said she needed to call me back. 45 minutes later I call back and received an even worse and faster greeting that again had me ask where have I called? long story short my back pack had not been worked on within the 5 days since my drop off. I was told by the guy that it will be ready in one hour. God thing I wasnt on a time table and I called before driving the 30 miles to get it. Staff training would help. POSITIVE- I gave them an extra day and picked it up and spoke to the owner while inspecting my full frame back pack. He offered a sincere apology for a last minuet fix and showed me where her reinforced not only the broken side but the other side as well for the inconvenience. I told him I appreciated his efforts and offered some advice on how he could improve his web presence. Being in customer service and in sales training for years we spoke about a resolve to an issue he had. All in all this is a business owned by a man that has pride in his business, thinks customer service is paramount and is very personable. 5 stars reduced to 4 for no call back.

I brought a TravelPro bag in in early March. They told me it would take ~3 wks. After 3 weeks, I called, and they said no update, but theyd call me when it was ready. Didnt hear from them. So I called every couple weeks after that point-- still no updates. Apparently, they were waiting for the part from TravelPro. After 2.5 months of this, I called in and they let me know that TravelPro was unresponsive, and they were going to have me come pick my bag up unfixed. I called TravelPro, and they IMMEDIATELY sent parts to Main Luggage. Two weeks later, I hadnt heard anything, so I called Main Luggage, they said theyd have to call me back, but I insisted they check while I was on the line, and finally they confirmed that my bag had been fixed... only took 3 months. Really bad customer service, they dont call back when they say they will, poor interactions with the manufacturers they service, etc. Bring your bag elsewhere.
