We had a wonderful experience with the Yosemite tour! Our guide was very knowledgeable about the park and all the details were handled! All we had to do was show up and enjoy the beautiful park! What an easy way to create lasting memories!
My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our 1/2-day tour of San Francisco and Alcatraz with our tour guide Mary. This private custom tour was a great introduction to the city by the bay and was totally customized to our wishes and family needs. We really saw all of the beauty and diversity of the city. Our guide Mary deserves a 5-star rating for this trip and all the way. She was friendly, knowledgeable and a great driver. The SUV is luxurious, comfortable and soft drinks were offered. Our family had a wonderful time during the tour and highly recommend Golden Horizon travel for other customers and visitors . We would definitely request Mary on our next tour):-
Prompt pick up service from our ferry cruise terminal in San Francisco, and an outstanding custom tour of the city hidden gems and differentneighborhoods in a luxury vehicle. Our tour guide was fantastic, fun, accommodating and very knowledgeable. This is the only tour company who managed to accommodate our Alcatraz last-minute booking, and they delivered.5 Stars all the way and highly recommended
A memorable Lake Tahoe and Yosemite combo custom tourVisiting from Switzerland with my parents and their friends, we chose Golden Horizon travel because our uncle recommended this business to us, he travelled before with this tour company to big sur and hearts castle. This company has amazing tour guides and an outstanding customer service. While Lake Tahoe is an awesome place, however, we all fell in love with Yosemite national park! What a magical place! it’s a real treat particularly for me as a photographer; everything was blooming in late spring, gorgeous wild flowers and fantastic waterfalls at every stop we made along the way. The hike to the sequoias was also the highlight of the trip for my parents, these huge redwood trees were on their bucket-list for long time. We wish we could have an extra day to spend in Yosemite, so much to see…maybe next timeI highly recommend this company, a very reliable business indeed
Muir wood is great. Really enjoy the boardwalk.
A 10-Star Full day San Francisco city guided tour in FrenchWe traveled from Canada to California to visit San Francisco, Napa and Yosemite. We booked this day private tour in bay area, it is with a great pleasure that I’m providing my feedback and rating regarding our city guided tour with Adam, he gave us an incredible treat and a personalized guided tour in French of San Francisco on Friday, March 9th. 2018.Jacqueline, Louise, Yvan and I would give him 10 stars and not 5 stars! Highly recommend! We enjoyed tremendously his passion, his generous and warm personality, his humorous comments, his incredible general background and culture and his acute knowledge of San Francisco. At no moment, did we feel that he was only doing his job, in fact, he made us feel like we were members of his family. He took an immense pride in presenting us every cultural aspect of each neighborhood of San Francisco, and every key point of interest along the way where we stopped, took a stroll with him and explored each area of our choice by foot and by car(Alamo square, mission murals, pacific heights, star wars studios in the presidio, bake beach tiled staircases ways with rewarding views, golden gate park…) I was personally touched when he brought us to a location where we could see the city and played on his car radio Tony Bennetts song of: “I left my heart in San Francisco”. But also, the famous French song “La maison bleue adossée à la colline … » of Maxime Le forestier, we even stopped by that blue house in Castro district. All four of us will never forget Adam and the incredible and unique tour of San Francisco he gave us. Please give him this feedback from us and tell me how I can write this feedback on Yelp or Trip Advisor. To Golden Horizon Tours and Adam, all four of us say: Bravo et Merci!):-We highly recommend this tour company in San Francisco particularly for French speaking visitorsMichel FarmerMontréal, Québec,Canada
Napa, Lake Tahoe, Yosemite, SF & Silicon Valley Private ToursI really believe that these private tours were absolutely worth every penny we spent, what apiece of mind to have when booking through this reliable tour operator and their amazing great tour guides, book with your else closes, you won’t be disappointedWe signed up for a customized tour of Napa Valley, a travel package to Lake Tahoe and Reno in Nevada, a day trip to Silicon Valley including the mystery spot in Santa Cruz, and then we travel Yosemite National park- a worry-free travel package all included.First, Adam took us on the first day from SFO international airport, bringing us for lunch to Sausalito with a stop at the Golden Gate Bridge, and then we drove to Napa Valley wine country where we had a private cave wine tasting tour at Far Niente. The next day in In Napa Valle we visited more wineries, caves and tour a tour in a castle winery, we also travel to Sonoma with a top at Safari west, and then visited Ledson winery and an Olive Press in Sonoma Valley wine country; we sampled a olive oils, cheese and wines, some made just 15 minutes before we arrived! This wasnt part of our original itinerary and was really a pleasant surprise. We also visited Castello di Amorosa and stopped by Bouchon Bakery to grab a couple of pastries. Adam really impressed us with his knowledge of the area, and he was really funny and personable. I really enjoyed conversing with him on various topics. From Napa, Jonathan, an experienced hardcore tour guide took over and brought us to Lake Tahoe and Yosemite. Jon knew the most scenic places, and hidden gems where we stopped to take photos in and around Lake Tahoe area. He prearranged for us an unforgettable snowmobile touring experience that took us all the up in the high sierra mountains -the views are breaking from these high and commanding overlooks!Once we arrived to Yosemite National Park after traveling for a couple of hours through California gold country, Jon guided walked with us and guided us throughout the hidden trail that took us all the way up to Vernal Falls, a tough hike but well worth it and a must-do.The next day in Yosemite and after breakfast in our River view suit (included in the tour package), our passionate tour guide took us on a hike to a grove of giant sequoias. We also visited the Yosemite Indian village, visitor center, museums, we had lunch at the majestic hotel and went on a walking guided tour with our tour leader Jon who walked with us to Yosemite falls and Mirror lake. We so many iconic landmarks such as like Half Dome, El Capitan, the three brothers and more.Jon also was the tour guide who guided us through Silicon Valley and brought us around Stanford University in Palo A lot and San Jose in Silicon Valley.I really enjoyed interacting with Jon as well, and he could really answer every question I had. He knew much about the history of San Francisco Bay Area, Lake Tahoe, Golden Country, Yosemite, Silicon Valley, Stanford and the tech firms of Silicon Valley. I learnt so much from him during this trip; this man is a walking encyclopedia and Im not even exaggerating. Furthermore, like me, he is an ardent follower of the NFL and NBA, and we spent a fair bit of time talking and discussing about sports, sharing each others stories. This guy is funny as hell, and the next time I visit the west coast I definitely want to meet him again and see more places. Sup Jon, hope youll be able to see this, this was the best holiday and vacation my family and I have ever had! Thank you Nelly for organizing this tour package for us, you have answered every single email, live chat and telephone calls, and you made us feel safe, comfortable, you guys pay so much attention to everything single detail which explains your excellent reviews and outstanding service. We highly recommend choosing a small local and reliable small business like Golden Horizon Travel rather than booking through large websites.Frank Seah -Singapore
Our foodie and beer tasting tour experience in Napa ValleyWe had an absolute blast with Adam! He made our day in Napa Valley. We drink more beer than wine at home-our tour guide understood that very well, he first drove us to Oxbow market in downtown Napa where we had small bites with cheese and beer tasting. This place is awesome, they totally have rotating drafts that are sure to please us, snack and bites kept coming, so yummy. My wife loved the cave tour at castello di amorosa winery, the caves are spectacular and impressive, the wine didn’t appeal much to me personally, but the castle is a must-see.Great tour! good job Adam
Reserve Alcatraz tickets in advance when visiting SF”Book your Alcatraz tickets months in advance before you travel to San Francisco, this is a must-see attraction when visiting San Francisco and Northerner California. A policy officer from south Africa who travel with us on the ferry had a stop offer in SFO, just to visit Alcatraz. Dress in layers, ironically summer is not warm, weather is cool and gets foggy in the in SF Bay. The views of Alcatraz from San Francisco are better than the views of SF from of the island, but the combo tour is a must do and saved us time and money. Thank you, Mary, great tour- our kids loved your jokes and stories about Alcatraz.
We booked two tours with Golden Horizon Tours and could not have had a better experience all round. We booked a full day tour of San Fran, Sausalito and Muir Woods, and also did a two day tour of Yosemite. Golden Horizon Tours were great communicators and were always available to answer my questions prior to and after booking. They were very professional and helpful at all times. We had Leo as our guide for our Yosemite tour and Buddy as our guide for our San Fran, Sausalito and Muir Woods tour. They were both absolutely fantastic!!! We couldnt have asked for two more thoughtful, friendly, good humoured and helpful guys. They were super knowledgeable and and full of invaluable information that totally enhanced our experience. It was a pleasure to be in their company. Both of them went out of their way to customise the tour to our interests. They have provided us with a lifetime of happy memories that well always treasure. Exploring Yosemite and San Fran on our own would have been a totally inferior experience. Thanks Leo and Buddy! You guys rock!
Our guide, Leo, was an exceptional guide with such a deep knowledge of Yosemite! He planned a great itinerary to bring us around to different spots with scenic views of highlights of the park, like Half-Dome, El Capitan and Yosemite falls. He also showed us less-travelled, hidden gems where we could get great pictures. Leo also elaborated on the geology, history, vegetation and wildlife of the park, which made it all the more engaging and interesting! He took us in manageable and enjoyable hikes (though we aren’t big hikers), which became a few of the highlights of our visit. Leo is clearly an experienced guide, but he was also kind, easy-going and great to talk to. It is very apparent that he is passionate about the outdoors and Yosemite :) we had a wonderful experience, and would do it all again if we could! Thanks Leo! :)
My Mum and I had an absolutely brilliant day in Yosemite and Leo was a perfect guide. Although we only had one day we visited many of the great Yosemite sights and our guide Leo made sure we had plenty of stops to see the beautiful mountains and waterfalls and take lots of photos. Leo was extremely knowledgeable regarding both Yosemite, the sights on the way and also San Francisco, and was always thinking of us and what we might like to do the whole day. In addition to the amazing sights, we really had a lot of fun. Amazing trip with a great travel company and great guide. My only regret was that the trip wasn’t longer in Yosemite and Sierra Nevada.Private Tours are the bets way to go indeed, and highly recommend, we enjoyed a personalized trip itinerary at our pace to suit my mum who is a slow walker at her age, this was the prefect holiday plan we had for long time.Thank you Golden Horizon Travel and Leo.

We booked all our San Francisco, Napa and Redwoods tours with this company, all of our tour guides were knowledgeable and very friendly. We saw and discovered a lot of things that you could not find on your own or in a tourist book. We ended up making new friends. Highly recommended!
Grace Cathedral, with its magnificent central spire and towers, is the focal point of Nob Hill, and attracts a large local congregation as well as many visitors, including architecture lovers from around the world who come to admire this historic monument. The original Grace Church was founded in 1849 but was damaged in the 1906 earthquake. The Neo-Gothic style Cathedral we see today was completed in 1964 after 36 years of construction. Grace Cathedral is famous for its 44-bell carillon and labyrinth, modeled after the medieval labyrinth in The Cathedral of Our Lady of Chartres in France (there are actually two labyrinths at Grace Cathedral, one indoors, one outdoors). Nob Hill is also well known for its elegant ‘Big Four’ hotels: the Fairmont, the Huntington, the Mark Hopkins, and the Ritz Carlton.
Look no further....this is your Private Tour company while in the San Francisco area!!!My twenty year old son and I planned a Mother/Son get away to San Francisco to spend some quality alone time together. Preferring convenient and hassle free experiences, we explored our options of private tour companies. Lucky for us, we selected Golden Horizon Travel & Tours. We booked three of their tours: The Ultimate Grand City 8-hour Tour, The Muir Woods/Sausalito half day Tour and The Monterey, Carmel, 17-Mile Drive Tour.We have found completing an overview tour of cities we travel to the first full day of our travel grants us a great overview of the area and helps us to determine which areas we may choose to explore further. We had the pleasure of having Mary, a San Francisco native, as our guide for this tour. Mary was gracious, kind and accommodating. She was knowledgeable of the history and was able to tell us how things have changed in the city during her years here. What a priceless gift.We then had the pleasure of meeting Jon for our Muir Woods, Sausalito and Marin Headland Tours. As this is a half day tour we requested to add on an extra hour to spend more time exploring a few extra sites. Again, Jon was knowledgeable about the area offering us added opportunities to see places of interest to us that added to our experience (ie - The Marine Mammal Center, The Record Plant Recording Studio where Prince recoded his first album, etc). Jon further showed us many areas of Sausalito that we may not have seen if not for his guidance. Finally, we had the pleasure to once again have Mary as our guide for The Monterey, Carmel, and the stunning 17-Mile Drive Tour. Mary made this day long tour pleasurable and comfortable showing us many sites we may not have found on our own. Such a lovely way to spend our last day in the Bay Area. Both Mary and Jon are 5/5 star guides and you will not go wrong with either of them!
“Top Notch 5-Star City Private Tour”Stop reading trip reviews about San Francisco tour guides, and book with this local tour company, we booked the full day San Francisco city tour by SUV, the city tour exceed our expectations, and our tour guide Pat, certainly delivered. Superb service and highly recommended, you won’t be disappointed.
My boss was planning to travel from New York to Silicon Valley on a private Jet, so I needed a very serious, local and reliable tour operator in San Francisco Bay Area who specializes in VIP service. From day 1, Golden Horizon Travel staff were extremely helpful, they answered every telephone call I made, online chats and emails, they’re very experienced with VIP and high-profile clients, they didn’t disappoint at all.My Boss and his family wanted a private guided tour of Silicon Valley a la carte, and they also wanted to visit an old park of giant redwoods nearby Silicon Valley. I didn’t want them to go to Muir Woods park of redwoods, I heard that it’s a very small and crowded forest of redwoods located north of San Francisco, I‘m glad they that this tour company offered us an alternative private guided tour to a big forest of redwoods nearby Silicon Valley where the costal redwoods are far bigger, taller and much older trees than those in Muir Woods national monument.I was very relieved to find a reliable tour company like Golden Horizon Tours, they took the pressure off my shoulders from day one and stepped in to help me in every way possible.Highly recommended for high profiles and VIP clients.
My wife and I booked Golden Horizon tours for our Monterey and Carmel day trip. We had the most fantastic vip tour and our driver and guide Leo was just awsome. We went in a very comfy SUV and were really happy with the pace and great sites we saw along this very beautiful coastline. We would highly recommend this company if you are visting the Bay area.David and Janelle Australia.
We booked the Russian Valley and Redwoods tour, this place is called Armstrong redwoods, located by Guernville, itsa unique and peaceful and a nice getaway from Muir Woods traffic and large crowds. There are easy trails and large redwoods in this park, fountains, benches and cozy gift shop. The wineires in this area are small and more laidback than the wineries of Napa Valley.i recommend this trip and redwood forest.Marggie Gaillo
LOOK NO MORE! THEY WILL EXCEED THEIR EXPECTATIONS!Our experiences on our tours of the Napa Wine Route, Alcatraz Island, the Russian River Valley Wine Route, and the visit to Yosemite National Park with Golden Horizon were unforgettable.Visiting the Napa Valley has been on our bucket list for a long time, we finally made it to the Napa Valley and stayed at the Solage Hotel Complex located in the northern Napa Valley. The hotel is very elegant and located in a quiet area near Calistoga. As for tourism, we booked several private wine tours with Golden Horizon Travel. Our amazing tour guide was Adam, he took us to new and exclusive wineries every day, in and around the Napa Valley. We also had a food and wine pairing in Sonoma and in the Napa Valley. The wineries we visited and the wine tastings have exceeded our expectations. Touring these magical destinations with Adam has been like traveling with a lifelong friend, always ready to teach us more, we never finished the tour as scheduled, he always added more time to our daily trips and made us feel like family. We are very happy to have booked multiple private tours with them; We had a hot air balloon trip scheduled for a weekend, but unfortunately we were unable to fly due to strong winds and weather conditions. However, the next day - we took off from Yountville and were able to fly, it was one of the best sunrises I have ever seen. This was a very exciting and fun experience.Adam is an expert photographer and he took many beautiful photos of us, then he was kind enough to share them with us. This was an incredible experience that we will never forget. We wanted to see the large redwood trees and decided to change the visit to Muir Woods Park and instead we visited the wineries and sequoias in the russian valley, which were much older. The choice of wineries and vineyards were designed according to our tastes, we visited DeLoach, Gary Farrell and the Merry Edwards winery. We love pinot wines and enjoy all the amazing wines from the valley. Finally, we set aside one more day to visit Yosemite National Park during our stay in the Bay Area. We had a long day of private travel with a good tour guide, his name is Gerard. He was kind enough to take us on a hike to see the giant redwoods after visiting the Yosemite Valley. We are amazed at the beauty and majesty of Yosemite Park, we honestly ran out of time as the day trip does not do Yosemite justice. I recommend if you have time at least schedule a trip of at least 2 to 3 days. For our last day, he took us from Napa to Alcatraz, and then we were dropped off at the San Francisco airport to take the flight back home to Guatemala City.We want to thank each of our guides for all their attentions, and Thank you for all the beautiful memories that we take with us!We highly recommend this tour company and ask for Adam; Trust me you will not be disappointed.Ramir A. and Irma Lopez
Our private tour of Muir Woods and the Napa Valley voucherWe booked this Muir Woods and Napa Valley vineyard tour with a different tour company in San Francisco, but they canceled our trip for at least a minute, the national park service now requires new permits and additional fees to visit the muir forests. We are glad we found Golden Horizon Travel on Trip Advisor, they stayed on our last minute booking, and we were not disappointed at all. His vehicle was very clean and comfortable, the tour guide was actually the driver, he is very efficient, helpful and super friendly. Once at Muir Woods Redwood Park, we had plenty of time to visit Muir Woods and Muir Beach, and we didnt feel rushed at all. That was one of the benefits of this private tour, we were able to go wherever we wanted, we covered a larger list of images and themes. The cost of the private tour was pretty much the same as the public tour as we had a large family, and my sisters daughters came with us on this trip. The tour leader offered our families more time, more flexibility and customized the tour itinerary accordingly, adding more stops to accommodate our large family and young children. The wineries we visited were kid-friendly, the hot tub and vineyards of Castelo di amorosa in Napa and the Sonoma valleys were exactly what we needed, a very educational and family guided tour.We highly recommend this combo trip to Muir Woods and Napa for families with young children
Well
High level guides, friendly, very informed, fun, elastic in the schedules to visit places or in the time to eat.I recommend them, they are excellent.
