I come here for electrolysis. Melanie and Kasper are excellent at what they do, and they keep things mellow while you are in the hot seat.

What a treat to have such a professional skincare service in West Portal! They take amazing care of my skin and are always extremely thoughtful with their skin care recommendations. I have been going to them for years.

They do not do electrolysis there. They steal your money.I have been to many electrolysis sessions with different electrologists, and I knew instantly something was wrong here. I could barely feel anything (meaning their machine was on the lowest possible setting), and they refused to work on the areas I was paying for them to work on, saying I would get a “bad reaction.” They also worked extremely slowly.I felt like I was being robbed in broad daylight.

I do not recommend going here for electrolysis.

Shiva and Dr. Shay were both extremely warm and professional. They both walked me through the uncharted territory of facial care and were both informative and sensitive to my concerns. Dr. Shay was responsive through yelp messenger and even took me in without an appointment. The spa itself is welcoming.

If I could put 0 star I would...I went there for a facial because a friend told me to go there...I feel like the whole time I was just creamed over and over with a peeling mask at the end and I had to remove what was left myself! No extraction whatsoever did not touch my nose or chin which are the basics when it comes to extraction and I am far for having very bad acne so it was not a lot to do. I still have blackheads on my nose and chin ...It was very lazy work...I could have done this at home and will... I feel robbed of $100. Very disappointed and will not go back. Maria was friendly but I would have rather someone less friendly who would have made a better facial and extraction!

The manager who attends wants to treat you like garbage and their machines do not work electrolysis does nothing to you is to lose your money

Fabulous! Kasper has been my electrolysis for several months, and she is positively fabulous. Her demeanor is friendly yet professional. Her technique is excellent! She performs the procedure efficiently and without administering pain. She is always attentive to her patients comfort. She is also a pleasure to talk to - intelligent and insightful and funny, which helps offset the tedious nature of de-hairing a trans-girl like me. She has also been an angel in assisting my transition in other ways, such as pointing me to various resources in the community (she has a wealth of knowledge in this regard; she is very much a part of the trans-community). Within the realm of electrolysis, Kasper is a STAR! Others have worked on me, yet Kasper is by far the very best.As for Demeteras, the place is simply wonderful. Its like a little oasis of tranquility within our busy city. Clearly, the staff strives to provide a comfortable and pleasant environment for their customers and patients. The front of the shop is charming, with a cute boutique-feeling (lots of irresistible skin and self-care products). The waiting areas are comfortable and always spot-less, and fresh water & tea are provided. If youre lucky, there will even be some home-made baklava (OMG - its to die for).Finally, Demetras truly IS trans & non-binary friendly. They dont just say they are; they really ARE.In summary, I love Demetras!Thank you for reading.Joan :-)

Electrolysis is useless you can do many sessions and you will never see a good or bad result, it does absolutely nothing to you and the managers bitter face is disgusting

It was crowded on a Saturday so I think Ill go back on a less peak time to really spend time w/o all the chit chat and crowded rooms. But overall it was a pleasant time and very nice!

I was so lucky to find Dimtra and her staff. The wealth of knowledge they have and the on going education they participate in really come through in the quality of their work. They took the time to really customize treatments for me and I am seeing real results. Nothing cookie cutter about this salon. Personalized service! I cant wait to go back

Dimitra is completely amazing!!! Ive struggled with severe acne since I was a teenager and nothing has completely cleared up my acne. With just a few extractions and facials my skin was almost completely clear! She gave me advice on what products fit best for my skin type and to talk to a dermatologist for a prescription on more effective medications than using benzoyl peroxide creams and face wash. She takes her time to get to know her clients in a personal level very professionally.
