I absolutely love Action Auto. Robert keeps my beater on the road, and tells me how to keep driving it for a little longer. What mechanic does that? He could give me a laundry list of repairs needed, but he knows it isnt worth sinking a ton omoney into my old, old Honda. And I wouldnt anyway. But he is so honest and up front I trust him implicitly with any car, not just my oldie. My new one will be visiting this shop too. Hes just the best.

Everyone is nice here but I feel like because Im a woman who knows nothing about cars that they saw an opportunity to over diagnose the repairs on my vehicle and potentially make money. This is definitely where a wealthy San Franciscan would come take their car but that is not me, I am a day laborer and mostly single mother. Im sure they do a great job but the costs are steep. 150$ for the safety inspection and they wanted 1100$ to replace a control arm bushing. Google search says that labor on that repair should cost no more than 400$. Im getting it fixed at another reputable shop plus realignment tomorrow for 481$.

I had my check engine light on for 2 smog related items - he knew how to reset coding. Thus, item 1 verified it was already fixed, item 2 he fixed a cracked tube thing in a jiffy! (whereas a dishonest mechanic may have charged me for new air pump + labor).I would say seek out only Raymond but from the looks of the reviews, it sounds like the whole team is top notch! Robert is the most trusted mechanic I have ever gone to, and we have now been taking our cars to Action Auto Care for years. Ive had him take a look at issues and then tell me that it was something minor -- no charge. Or that its something I dont have to worry about for a while. And if something needs to be fixed, he will clear it with me first. Robert is a man of integrity and I always feel like he is being honest with me about his advice.

I can’t recommend Action Auto Care highly enough. I’ve been getting work done here for the last 3 years. Robert knows his stuff. He won’t charge you if he can’t find / fix the problem and his rates are super fair for SF. As someone who likes to work on cars myself, he always takes the time to explain issues in detail and if it’s easy enough even encourages me to fix it myself (which another shop would NEVER do). He even allowed me to recycle a few used auto parts. Robert is the man.

I trust them completely. Robert is incredible. He goes far and beyond for the customer. He follows up, researches issues if necessary and truly has the customers best interest at heart. In fact it is because of Robert, and his expertise that I was able to prevent my Honda dealer from taking advantage of me in dealing with an electrical issue with my CRV. The dealer claimed it was a caliper issue when it was not. They were going to charge me possibly thousands of dollars, but thanks to Robert, and his advice in demonstrating it was a completely different issue, I had to pay nothing and protected myself from the dealerships antics. Ive been going to action for two years now. The service is efficient and well priced. They will call you if theres something needs to be done, but in general I dont ever feel like Im being sold something I dont need. If they tell me work needs to be done (which has been rare), I trust their judgment and have it done.

He didnt at all pressure me to do ANY of it, and I think he gave me pricing upfront before I did any services. I told him I was taking a flight and needed it done within a few hours, and he prioritized my vehicle and made it happen (he even called me before he left for his lunch break to make sure I wasnt going to come by while he was out). Honest, quick and trustworthy, do yourself a favor and dont waste time looking for other shops and just call Robert.

I cannot tell you how much I TRUST action auto care with my cars! Very reliable and trust worthy. You have to wait for your turn to be scheduled and it is a worth the wait. Just leave your car with them and at the end of the day pick it up. I have nothing but praise for them! Anything that needs to be fixed, it is fixed well. I NEVER had to bring the car back and say how come it squeaks or why does it still make the noise again. You go to him, he fixes it, you come get the car and you do not have to come back to him to get it refixed!I must say, I am a customer who believes in fix once and am happy! Our car had been acting up with extra exhaust. The men took a quick look under the chassis, popped the hood, and then tightened some tubing, and then VOILA! Our car was repaired, I asked how much and the son said $5 (note: its a CASH ONLY business). I explained that Id have to go to an atm as Im cashless nowadays, and he said no problem about the charge, merry Christmas.

I had a pretty brief experience with Action Auto. I had a blown taillight, so it wasnt a huge job. It was a short wait and they took me right in. Theyre conveniently located (lots of street parking if you want to check in first). I also asked them to check my brake pads, which I was ready to replace, and they were honest and gave me the assessment that I had a few thousand more miles to go.I went here based on the previous stellar reviews and found nothing that would suggest anything different. I will be a repeat customer.

I had a leak in the tubes connecting the coolant to my engine. The Palo Alto Toyota Prius dealership quoted me $1000 to fix it (parts and labor). I had friends refer me to Robert for a 2nd opinion. Robert immediately identified the same issue but fixed it for $181.70 (parts and labor). He called me twice to update me on what he found and get my verbal authorization before fixing anything. He even told me upfront that the issue was not pressing and that I could fix it later if I wanted to. I appreciate the integrity, clear communication and quality of work. 5 stars !

Gave this place a chance because it was close to work and had great reviews, came here to confirm the service.I called in regarding a bad rear wheel bearing, and Robert stayed on the phone to provide me with an accurate cost estimate. Quoted around $250, and come out to $280 including tax. Upon dropping it off they were able to take a look and figure out that only the drivers side needed replacing. I called on a Monday, scheduled to drop it off on a Friday, and picked it up the same day at 4pm.Amazing service, great job, and honest.

Hes not trying to jack up the price. He explains everything thoroughly and if necessary, he will take you to the car and explain the issue in a way that you can understand.Most people want a mechanic who is intelligent, has a good bedside manner (ie: is pleasant, respectful to the customer, and doesnt appear to be on the take), and shows that he cares about you and your vehicle. Very rarely will you find more than one of these traits in a mechanic. And often times, unfortunately, some guys exhibit none of these qualities. So its easy to realize why we often feel like we cant trust them.But Robert has them all.Theres no phony nice guy facade. Nor does he have the personality defects that seem to plague most of these guys. If these guys are Rain Men, hes Tom Hanks. Dependable, reliable, honest - you can look forward to bringing your car to him and not fear youre going to be raped by some sleazy garage.I now live in Florida - I only wish he was here. There is no comparison between Robert and any of these shlubs. And believe me, Ive dealt with them.
