Jason is a great teacher who takes the mystery out of how to learn and easy to understand SEO and Social Media Marketing. The books are written with exercises so that anyone can implement what they are learning. Another bonus is you can contact Jason, and he will respond with answers to questions about the material.Jason’s personal response is always helpful, especially when having problems with Amazon downloading the correct version of his latest book. I have exchanged numerous emails with Jason and he mailed me a free 2020 SEO Fitness Workbook. He’s always been friendly and very responsive and professional.Regarding the book, with a few caveats it is excellent. It is well written with clear and detailed examples. It is also very organized and comprehensive. The problems I found with it are a) a mention of a screenshot which I couldn’t find, b) mentioning text highlighted in a color when the book is completely in black and white, and c) too much empty space on pages. The book is heavy and large and decreasing the empty space would lighten it and make it smaller.These issues are relatively minor and if you want to learn about SEO and have very detailed instructions about how to implement it in your business, get this book.I just finished his SEO Workbook 2021 and it’s better than the 2020 version. In general the screenshots are better, especially in the last 1/3 of the book. A screenshot earlier in the book had very small words and I couldn’t read it. Another said key pieces were highlighted but because the picture is in black and white I couldn’t find with certainty what was important in it. Overall the book is detailed, comprehensive, easy to read, and with many step by step instructions. Hard to imagine a better guide for doing SEO.

I recently took Jasons class at Stanford on Marketing with Money - SEO and Social Media and loved it. Jason is a very competent, dedicated and sincere teacher who goes over and above the call of duty to make sure the students get what they are looking for.He made sure he was always available - he would invariably arrive 45 minutes before class started to answer questions and stay long after the class was over to take more questions. He also has a great sense of humor that only helped make it more fun. Both his books were very informative as well.A class is only as good as the teacher and Jason was indeed fantastic.

When my website was buried deep, beyond page 10, I knew that I had to take drastic action. But I did not know where to look. I searched for knowledge and results in the real world. I wanted my website to appear during a search of keywords. While there are many ‘self-professed experts,’ they are confusing and too technical and too abstract. McDonald is completely the opposite. He speaks layman’s language and explains everything with many examples. I read and listened to McDonald’s books on SEO & Adwords. McDonald also consulted me, on the important areas, as to where I should focus my attention. I am more than satisfied with my overall investment in consulting and studying his books. But I have implemented only a fraction of the suggestions and have lots more to do. There have been many worthwhile results. That’s what it is all about.

I just finished taking Jason’s SEO and Social Media class at Stanford…He was amazing… this was by far the best class I have ever taken. It is totally clear that he is an SEO expert, but he also was a fabulous instructor. His lessons were very well thought out, covered a lot of ground, and were delivered using hundreds of real life examples on the web. I was always in awe of Jason’s grasp on the subjects and his immense knowledge. Never were my questions unanswered or doubts not cleared. Jasons SEO Workbook is an excellent book to learn SEO. The book utilizes free videos and hands on assignments to help in the learning process. I have read other books on SEO but this one is by far the best !

Jason is extremely knowledgeable and his techniques are on the cutting edge of marketing. He gave us practical advice on marketing such as how to build a following on Twitter, leveraging fans on Facebook, building a processional network on LinkedIn and more. He also has an innovative way to teach his classes by making quizzes fun and engaging.Despite teaching late classes, he lingered after class to make sure students could ask questions and he was always open to a discussion. I read his book SEO Fitness Workbook. I strongly recommend this book regardless whether you already have basic understanding in SEO or not. This book makes SEO easy to learn and to understand. Except for minor details and ongoing improvements, after 4 years, I have finally finished rebuilding our huge site with its over 9,000 products. In Sept. and Oct. 2016, I took Jasons SEO, Ad Words, and Social Media Marketing online class series.I found Jason via the Stanford Continuing Studies program, but decided to take his classes online. Normally, I prefer in-person classes. However, since SEO, Ad Words, and Social Media live on the internet, watching Jason walk through everything in an online format works really well.Jason is a phenomenal teacher for two reasons - what he teaches and how he teaches it. In terms of the what, he is clearly an expert on internet marketing. He demonstrates this through his exhaustive list of resources that he shares in his classes as well as his expert, insider tips about internet marketing that you cannot get from Google. In terms of the how, I consider SEO and Ad Words in particular to be dry, complex, technical material. Jason, however, makes the material digestible and fun through his use of analogies, real-world examples, and his dry humor. He is quite funny and kept me engaged, because he transformed the complexity of internet marketing into smaller, manageable pieces. I highly recommend his classes.
