They have everything you need for photography here. Classes, rentals and gear. If they dont have it in stock the other location probably does. The staff is super knowledgeable and they usually have some type of sale going on.I bought my camera here a while ago, but it included some free sensor cleaning, a bunch of prints, and a handful of other things Im forgetting.I have since returned for quality gear and workshops. The workshops they offer are a must do for beginners and pros.

If you are looking for top quality gear and excellent customer service, Georges Camera is the best place in San Diego. I made the mistake of ordering gear off Amazon that arrived 2 days before my shoot. Of course it was defective and I was in big trouble. I called Georges as I should have done in the first place. Not only did they have the exact product I needed, but they told me to bring the rest of my gear to ensure that what I was buying would work for me. It worked perfectly and while helping me I could tell all the employees have a true passion for photo / video. Everyone who helped me genuinely cared about making sure my shoot went well. I was pleasantly surprised yesterday after receiving a call from Georges Camera yesterday. I had brought in my camera for repair since I accidentally scratched the focusing screen in my Nikon. I was told it might take up to 4 weeks to repair it but yesterday i recieved a call that my camera was repaired and ready for pickup. it took less than two weeks to get it back.if someone was to ask me who I would reccomended for camera Repairs, camera equipment, or camera cleaning supplies I would definitely say Georges Camera. I will now by all my camera equipnent here.The Staff themselves were all professional especially Thomas. he was friendly and easy to talk to over the phone. The other staff nembers were all great as well with great information and all with a friendly and welcoming demeanor.This is a long time business in San Diego and there is a reason why they have been opened for a long time.More than 56 years. There excellence in service, the friendly welcoming staff, the information you get, and the services you get is why they will have me as a customer.One example was yesterday when a customer with a guide dog walked in the store. They immediately welcomed him and were so friendly towards this customer. This brought a smile to my face especially the way they interacted with this customer.All I can say is great job and thank you.

I went in for a camera repair back in August because of the great reviews I saw on google for a camera repair. I paid the 10.00 service fee just to look at the camera and was quoted 272.00 to return the camera to full working order according to Thomas. I made numerous attempts to contact about an update on my camera and the status of the repair and was not met with any update. Now at the end of October 2 Months later after calling again I was informed they were unable to repair it after already quoting the price to return to working order only to be informed that during the repair another complication had occurred and I would need to pay for additional services. Thomas did admit to me that he and George’s Camera should have done a better job communicating what was going on with my camera with me which I agree with as well. So essentially my experience with Georges camera repair service resulted in me paying 272.00 for them to look at it and cause a new problem with my camera. I then spoke with the manager Jim who admitted he was unsure if the camera was now repairable and that they should have never attempted to fix this camera from the beginning yet prior to saying this Thomas was still willing to charge me for additional service. The manager did not realize what was wrong with the camera even though my invoice that they wrote clearly stated what was wrong with it. My advice for anyone looking to do business here is to understand you will be paying for them to attempt to fix it so try looking somewhere that will charge you after work is complete.

One of the only games in town but they’re good. Wide variety of rental products and everything else is MSRP, if you want a bargain buy used but otherwise head there.

This is the place is a place you gotta visit if you need something from: Tripods, Monopods, Cameras, and too much more.

This has been my go-to camera store ever since they opened a second location in Kearney Mesa. I like their original North Park store, but Kearney Mesa is closer to my house. I have bought nearly all my photographic equipment here over the years because I really like having a local store with knowledge employees.

Staff extremely helpful, prices reasonable and they will match Amazons price as well. Was looking for a new lens for my camera at a cost of around $450, the sales associate suggested a used one they had in perfect condition for $270 + $26 for a 2 year in store warranty. So I saved $154! What a great deal! I will do all my camera gear shopping here from now on. The store has a very wide selection and you can put your hands on things before you buy it, I like that!

Great! Sometimes they dont have studio equipment Id like, but they have a lot of common equipment. I try to buy from them to support local business. Their pricing is competitive plus they have an array of second hand equipment and brand new stuff. The employees at this location are always friendly and helpful.

Ive gotten a camera here and lenses also just dropped off some film their turn around time is usually pretty fast but they warned due to covid the turn around time is 3 weeks but thats fine with me im glad they let me know. That have everything you could need photography related and are very helpful.

Great rental department! I needed a fast wide angle lens for a specific event, something I rarely need. It was a Sat. night event. I picked up a Nikon full frame 24mm 1.4 lens that retails for $2,000 dollars on Fri afternoon, returned Mon. Before 2pm for 40 bucks. The lens performed perfectly, what a deal and the employees were knowledgeable, polite and efficient.... Great experience.

Visited yesterday to get film for my 2 used Minolta cameras I bought for my photography class at mesa and get a couple questions answered. As someone who wasnt all that familiar and had a vague idea of what I needed or what I was doing the staff was really patient and kind they answer your questions and even recommended items that would be suitable and not crazy expensive. They even have student discounts so something to keep in mind and theyre close to campus. They only process film at the 30th street location but I believe you can drop it off here and theyll take it. Will definitely be back for more camera gear.

The guys that work here are super helpful. Their prices are the same as Amazon and B&H Photo, and they have good warranties.Georges Camera is San Diegos largest camera store that offers a low-price guarantee, so you know youre going to get a good price. They are locally owned and operated and have been in business since 1965.They an great selection of photographic and video equipment and supplies, digital cameras, and also have a nice selection of lighting.All of Georges Camera equipment is not gray-market, so you will get an authorized USA manufactures warranty. They even rent most of the equipment that they sell, and offer a try-before-you-buy program which is handy.This Clairemont Mesa location has better parking than the North Park one, and the store is a little more spread out. I prefer to go to this one vs. the North Park ones because of this.

I have been going to Georges Camera for almost five years. They have never failed to meet my expectations. Especially Linda Nguyen and Trevor (Cant remember his last name). They are always patient, helpful and seem genuinely happy to see me when I am there. If I have questions, they give me answers in a way that helps me make informed decisions. Good people are hard to find. Georges Camera has good people!

Gearges camera is an amazing place if youre in the market for new photography equipment. They have a great selection, truly helpful staff that are as passionate as you are about photography, and are more than happy to talk to you about the equipment youre considering.It also helps that they are open on Saturday which is unheard of for photo stores in this area.Their prices are competitive too. They actually beat Amazon by $100 on one of the cameras Im considering.Cant recommend them enough.

While this shop has survived in North Park for decades, they seem to harbor a distaste for doing business with women. I went in for a camera repair, which was costly, so I asked to see newer Canons. The fellow showed me one, then one with more zoom at which point he got a phone call and STAYED ON THE PHONE instead of putting them on hold and finishing up with the quote on the camera. Honestly, I felt invisible! I will NEVER go back there. I would buy a camera on the black market before stepping foot in that store. Time to work on your customer service, George!

Hands down the best camera shop in SD. Super nice staff who will answer all of your questions. Even though you can buy most gear at cheaper prices, it’s best to shop local. They have had the right seamless paper that I need or the right piece of grip gear that gets me out of a jam.

Staff is awesome and welcoming. Place is clean and up kept. They didnt have the lens I needed at this location but the employee who helped us, (I forgot his name Im very sorry) informed us that we could purchase the lens at their North Park location. All the while had a smile on his face and welcoming vibe. This is definitely going to be my go to place for anything photography related. Highly recommend this place if youre looking for DSLRs or DSLR gear or any photography gear in general. They also offer rentals so if you just need a camera or lens for one session, hit them up.

If I could give George’s Camera more than five stars right now I would absolutely do it because of how great I’ve been treated. Also, the quality of their service was as good as it gets. On Sunday I dropped off my camera to get cleaned and needed it ready by today since I’m leaving for New York tomorrow at the crack of dawn. For a small fee they said it would be ready after 4 pm. Well, I got sidetracked with a million things and wasn’t going to make it before closing, and Willow—one of the wonderful ladies working at George’s—actually waited for me and gave me my camera. I know companies don’t like to do this because people take advantage, but I am so unbelievably grateful!!!I’m going to be the grouchy millennial and tell you all to support our local camera store instead of buying online or at some big, corporate retailer! The prices are competitive, everyone is knowledgeable, and (clearly) very helpful. Thank you so much for everything!!

He was happy to provide me a proof to ease my mass printing worries. He also provided everything to me quickly despite the holiday season.

Great service and good selection

One of the salesman was helpful as far as attentiveness but could not answer any questions. So we went to another salesman who he thought could answer the questions but that associate would not look at me when answering the questions he would only look at the other sales associate so after my first question I just simply turned around and walked away because in all honesty he was not helping. Anyway I thought it was really bizarre trying to talk to somebody and have them look directly at someone else is very odd.

By far the largest selection of camera rental equipment in San Diego which is very helpful if you wanna try something out before you buy it or if you dont have enough money to buy that something. And the staff are always friendly, always trying to help you achieve what you want to do with your photography. I think every single time that Ive gone there, one of their staff members took the time to talk about and give some advice for what I was going to shoot. Ive gone to some other camera stores here in the San Diego area and Georges is by far my favorite.

This place is a phenomenal camera shop and one of the few remaining places where customer service still exist. Seems to be a nice Camera shop. I wish it was a bit more accommodating. They close at 530pm sharp. Came in at 531 and got turned away to drop off my camera for sensor cleaning. Tried to explain that it was for a wedding shoot over the weekend and I needed it in the next couple days. No luck.

I bought a zhiyun crane 2 from this place and they told me it came with a follow focus, they made me give them all my information because they didnt have it in the store with them so they were going to send it to my house, its been more than 3 months and it never came. There was one guy who was kind enough to help which is why Im giving them one star but the rest were so stale And serious, and when your trying to buy expensive gear, you want employees who will be kind enough to help you. If it wasnt for that one kind guy I would of shut down their business and given them all a lecture on how to be kind and helpful to customers before reopening.

I have rented a camera lens here on a couple occasions. Their prices seem fair and I liked that they gave me extra time on when I could pick it up and an extra day on the weekend.

Main place I go to buy camera equipment! Sometimes Ill come here on their buyback dates to sell equipment. But I think they offer about 40% of the original value if your equipment is in excellent condition. You might make more money selling private. Otherwise, they are very friendly and knowledgeable and communicate well with their other location to ensure you can pick up equipment. They sell in-house brands of batteries to save money from buying expensive brand batteries. They also carry lights and backdrops. Also, they give honest opinions of products and never make you feel pressured to make a purchase.

Ive been to Georges several times, starting over ten years ago, both at North Park and more recently the Kearny Mesa store. The people are always very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Im so glad they exist. There are some things, and photography is one of them, that you just cant do on Amazon and YouTube.
