This rating is specifically for processing time, which is 5-10 business days to receive any kind of feedback and then you are MAILED the forms..For VSDThis is simply to verify that you are a veteran-as in the dd-214, which is required along with the veteran status verification form to receive a VSD form to have the word VETERAN($5) put on your license. You can no longer go in person to have this done same day, which is ridiculous in my opinion because what is the point of a dd-214 and the fact that all this is not done through DMV but the local CVSO is also ridiculous…
This office is a waste of PRECIOUS time! They do not call when prearranged schedule to call; they do not return calls; no one answers the phone at all most of the time. When you do get to talk to someone whose job is the help with a claim, they say they will submit the claim and send you a confirmation by email, but they dont send the confirmation they said they would, so you dont know whether the claim was submitted or not. The supervisor, Jenny Dawson does not return calls either; the receptionist who takes the calls (sometimes, after leaving numerous messages), hangs up on you. Unfortunately Im sure we taxpayers are paying salaries for these do nothings, while they ignore what could be a life or death situation for a veteran. Someone needs to clean house in this department!!!
This is embarrassing lol. I looked up County Veterans Service Office for SD and the first thing you see is their pathetic 2.2 star rating. Even the Chula Vista DMV has a better rating than them. What a joke.
Not helpful. Poor attitudes. Do not respond to emails or calls. I’m not sure which veterans they are serving, but it wasn’t me. I hope our tax money is not paying for this.
Needed some info on Cal Vet benefits. Received answers and more. Great experience for me. I called on the phone due to Covid-19Hopefully some phone services continue instead of making people come to their office.
They need a template or something, to help with their customer service on the phone, its below par. Really its sad.
Yolanda in the office was extremely rude to me when I asked her to check to see if my documents had been received. She was very hostile and refused to check on them for me. In a very rude tone she told me not to call back for a week and a half. I let her know that I was worried about meeting my colleges deadline to turn in the waiver and she proceeded to give me a long lecture about how I had months to turn in the documents and waited until the last minute. I understand the office is short staffed but taking out your frustrations on veterans and their families is not the way to go about things.
Not one to slam, but wow. Hours are 8 - 4 and not the listed 8 - 5, but dont get there any later than 3:30 if you want service. Also, their phone cuts in & out, so good luck over the phone. Hopefully in person is better than the hours and phone service. Ill update.-- As an update, the experience in person was slightly better. I did still have to wait for about 20 minutes once I got there at my scheduled time, and there was some back-and-forth for ID verification and copying. Moral of the story: It is government. It did remind me of being back in the Navy where one would wait for the gear to slowly turn. Its not the workers fault as I blame the system. It is a nice new building with art and (the day I went ) a Farmers Market.
I called because I needed help with some very important college related benefits. The man who answered the phone was incredibly rude and sounded as if he was asleep. His attitude made me just hang up the phone rather than try to get information from such an irritated employee...
Very rude staff. I was calling to ask questions and the lady on the phone began to yell at me. Like seriously, I understand if your stressed out but she was seriously yelling at my ear telling me to press my phone up against my ear because she can’t hear. Very bad customer service.
Why am I paying $37 a month and I didn’t even sign up for anything
They should be ashamed to call this a service office. Never have I encountered this degree of incompetence. And not just from one person but everyone I have encountered. It has been many people because no one has a clue and I have to keep going back and am continually steered in the wrong direction or someone is out sick and they dont call or reschedule like they tell you they are going to. This service should be shut down what a joke and a huge waste of time. Someone please train these people!!!!!!
The staff were completely helpful and pleasant. The ladies at the desk made my experience easy and totally successful. Thank you.
I know there are some bad ratings on here, but I went ahead anyways and it was a very great! Outstanding services and workers both in the front and back.
Went in. Staff was really friendly. They helped me out with getting my Veteran Verification for the DMV. Super quick.
I don’t know who answers these phones but an older woman and man have answered for me and were hushed for no reason.
I don’t know who trains the people phone receptionist here but they are completely rude. Within 20 seconds in the conversation I am getting yelled at for a simple question.
Very rude customer service, the lady constantly said I was in the wrong and that I kept messing up information when she was the one making mistakes. If you have another option, go to another office instead
Theres a lady that works there by the name of Suzy. She has an ugly attitude. As well as a female that works at the front desk. Suzy thinks its okay to come out of her professionalism and yell at people as if we are her kids. I understand her job may be frustrating but thats no one business but herself. Yesterday July 19th 2018. She had the nerve to yell around behind the front desk with her minion just because I was asking questions. Its amazing how these people conduct themselves in whats suppose to be a professional environment. I warn you all to beware of this behavior.I believe she works with reviewing work study papers. She works in the first cubicle when entering the veterans representatives desk.
Called to schedule an appointment for disability claim assistance and they took my information and said they would call me back within 4-5 business days JUST TO SCHEDULE the appointment. Are you serious? It takes 4-5 days just to get on the phone with the scheduler?? Will update later if things turn out better.
It was very quiet, no waiting. The waiting room was for multiple offices, but there was hardly anyone there. The lady at the counter was very pleasant and courteous. She asked me to sign in and fill out a form then asked why I was there which was for the Veterans Services Verification Form (VSVF) for DMV. I gave her my DD-214 and was asked to wait a few minutes in the waiting area then she had me sign another form and that was it. It could have been a bit longer, but those who had to see my form and sign it were in a training so she offered that I could return tomorrow or she could mail it. As it was my only day off I chose mail. And was told itd arrive the next week. I had expected the people to act like they do at the VA because of the reviews Idseen on Google, but was pleasantly surprised and pleased with their attitude
10/23/2018 Juan Rangel title VSR working the desk at 1027 needs to take a day off and fix his demeanor. Leave the case of Mondays on Monday not Tuesday. Customer service goes a long way. What ever hes going through he needs a break to address it and should take a mandatory customer service course immediately. Please make him take a 2hour course. Our entire interaction there was no eye contact at all. (I even told him if I had everything I needed for my ID he said Yep( still no eye contact ) i said thank you for you assistance and still no eye contact and his only response was yep, I even said hope you have a good rest of the day and he ignored me and still made no eye contact. Will this post be ignored... more than likely Im sure of it. The office wasnt busy either. Maybe he doesnt know what rude is smh.
Very poor costumer service over the phone.I am a California native and an Active Duty Service Memeber here in San Diego, separating from service in one month. I called to get information about the Veterans Status Verification Form (VSVF) in hopes that I can get the Veteran Designation on my drivers license (DL) that I need to replace now. When I called the woman who answered very quickly put me on hold without waiting for my response. When she returned I asked if I need to make an appointment to get the VSVF, which she responded, No, come in to our office with your DD-214 during our business hours. Sounding like she was about to hang up, I quickly asked about my situation, being that I dont separate for a month but need an CA DL now could I bring in my orders showing my separation date so that I could essentially accomplish getting a new DL and getting the Veteran designation in one DMV trip. Now sounding impatient with me and with attitude she told me, No this is for Veterans go the VA for your ID.This woman did not want to help me or even bother finding if there may have been another option, or bother to politely explain that due to their stipulations and processes they would not be able to do anything until I had a DD-214 (which I would have understood had she explained something like this in a polite manner). I am sorry if someone else she had spoken to early today may had been impolite but I do not feel I should have received the same impoliteness.
Terrible service. Horrible attitudes. Completely unhelpful
Omg, teach your rude employees proper way to answer the phone!!!
I Waited then left and got nothing. Even with an appointment I saw and received no help.
Great service
