A lovely property in need of some repairs. Gate to enter parking did not work. Emergency light on 6th floor dangling by its wires. They were not adequately staffed for a group of our size. Beyond those grumbles, the staff is friendly and helpful. There are multiple elevators to get to your floor. Increased security for guests because you need guest key to use the elevators.

Positive: The staff was nice. I liked the location and the style of the lobby. Bathrooms and TV size were nice as well. Negative: I booked a king bed, but it wasnt available, therefore had 2 queens. There was a dirty sock left in the room from a previous occupant.

Positive: What I liked best of this hotel is the staff and the pool area. The pool was heated and it was the perfect temperature. Negative: I didnt like that parking is upwards down a hill. It was scary but I managed to park at a low level.

Terrible experience. Our hotel room wasn’t cleaned once during our stay. We asked three days in a row for our room to be cleaned and it was not. The front desk staff also didn’t care that our stay was miserable and seemed irreverent at a simple request like a clean room. Do not stay here.

Staff very friendly and helpful..but doubt well be staying here again. Restroom dirty and door wouldnt close. No fan in restroom either. Main door had no security latch...looked broken or maybe removed? A/C looked like it was a few days from being completely clogged with dust.

The hotel is very centrally located so a variety of destinations are within 10-15 minutes or less. The hotel has recently been remodeled and the rooms and facilities are very modern and comfortable. The rate during our stay was reasonable compared to other comparable hotels.They accommodated our requests for two rooms close to the elevator and next to each other. The front desk staff were generally very nice and friendly and gave us a late check out.The problems we had with the hotel were related to housekeeping. There is no daily housekeeping, which I think is related to the pandemic. We stayed for four nights and were told that if we stayed for six then they would perform housekeeping tasks. Okay, fine, I didn’t expect them to clean the rooms or change the sheets on a daily basis. However, since we were staying four days and working from the room some of this time we did want some minor services, like emptying the trash, additional coffee, change of towels, etc. We had to request they empty the trash three times, and it was only when I actually saw the housekeeping staff and asked and left the cans outside the door, did this occur. They did come in and leave towels and new sheets for our rooms, (didn’t hang the new towels or remove the old towels, but just left new towels and sheets on the bed). Also, one of our rooms didn’t have a coffee maker, so we requested one, only to have it delivered without a basket to hold the coffee, so it was unusable. I then had to request a new coffee maker twice more before a new one was delivered. Also had some issues with the café or Starbucks services that the hotel says they provide. This is limited and there were glitches in services.

We were planning to spend time with family at Safari Park in SD for the weekend. We decided to stay at Courtyard by Marriott Hotel. When we came in Saturday (04/24) afternoon to check in, Alex was really helpful. I booked 2 rooms and asked for connecting rooms. But then, they didn’t have any available even though I requested it when I booked before hand. After that, they told me they only have 1 King bed and 2 Queen beds connecting and still available. But when they doubled checked, there’s none. I was already frustrated because this is the first time I had a problem booking a connecting rooms in a hotel. But Alex was being nice and she said she’ll give us complimentary breakfast for the hassle and confusion. When we get to our rooms, we were planning to take a shower, and the bath tub is clogged. We had to call guest service again about the issue. So they sent someone up to fix the tub for us. The next day, (04/25) I called guest service again to ask what time the breakfast will be available. And whoever I talked to was being rude. Arguing with me over phone. Cancelled our 8 complimentary breakfast because it was 8 of us (4 guests in each room) and told me he’ll only give us 2 breakfast instead. Insisting that every hotel is different. That was not a good customer service at all. It was 7:30am in the morning and you’re arguing with a guest over the phone and insisting you are correct out of all the issues that happened the day before.This is the first time I had a problem with a hotel. It was not a good experience at all. I want to get a refund for an awful stay and customer service.

All right totally like the hotel. Been wanting to stay at this place for a while now finally got the chance I love that the parking has the arms that go up and down but it looks like it takes a card but just going up to it the sensor let you go in and out which is cool cuz not a lot of riff Raff is parking in the parking lot thanks for always to find the parking spot other thing that I like is that it feels clean and classy but its kind of seems a little bit out of place because you still hear all the sirens and stuff from hotel circle ambulances in the fire trucks hopefully one day thatll stop. Total family place totally safe to take your kids just seems a little classy for the spot who is nice its not too big though and another thing they have no room service on location on site not anything they have that little snack bar thing downstairs thats about it. I would think for his classy as it feels and as clean as it feels they would have some type of food. So you cant stay there forever so you can stay there for a while. Overall very nice hotel I give it four out of five stars if you would have had some type of room service or snack bar that was more than just a closet definitely would have gave it the fifth star checking with super fast super easy also theres elevators downstairs in the lobby make sure you look down the hall to the right theres more elevators there there is a big large group waiting at the elevators nobody gave directions that there was more down the hallway so theres at least four to six elevators in that place if someone would have told me that for my day was over. Highly recommended

I am very much pleased with front desk associate Xana and her superior Alex Bond who were very helpful to fix a mistake in the booking (Looking for outside options and finally upgrading to a DOUBLE ROOM suite for free).They also helped with concierge service on our stay. They were just awesome, I absolutely recommend this hotel for your next stay.

This hotel never cleaned our room after the night we checked in. They did not restock the bathroom, we asked for towels and extra pillows and they never showed up. This hotel is only cleaning the rooms that they need to rent to new guest. Stay more than a day and you will regret it. They never refilled the coffee or creamer in the room. The trash cans in our room over filled. We stayed at this hotel for 3 days taking our two children to Lego Land. Maybe this bad service is done to nobody wants to work these days and they do not have the staff, nevertheless this was our experience.

Not super impressed. Having to wait 20 minutes to check in as the reception person was not available was not a good start. Especially since you were informed of this by a piece of paper stuck to the check in desk.Room was OK, bathroom was nice.The breakfast service was a little disorganized as they had only just started having this service again. Beautiful hotel and pool, filthy rooms, I mean who cant afford a new toilet seat.there was a hair under my fitted sheet and stains on the bedding,alarm clock didnt work .floor wasnt vacuumed, people just throw there trash in the hall at night outside there door. This place is a joke and I have a feeling management is to blame, since they were supposed to call me about my issues but never did. Shame on the owner and house keeping manager, what a disgrace for a 4 star rated hotel that is clearly bought and paid for and not earned.

From my understanding, the hotel recently underwent some renovations. I do not know how the rooms looked before but my room looked modern and stylish. I havent a single clue how Wi-Fi/Internet is usually managed by hotels but this one seems to be managed by a 3rd party group.Though their website states that they have a premium Wi-Fi option, when I stayed at the property there was no such thing. When connecting to the network, I was instantly connected to the internet with no option for upgrading. Upgrading required me to call their Network Support and I had to give IP Addresses of my devices. In the end, only 1 of the 2 devices I gave even got the upgrade (~14 Mbps).Dont even get me started on their $3/hr $27/day parking... They do not offer any discounts for any of the tiers of Marriott Bonvoy.

Absolutely awful experience that I’m still dealing with two weeks later to get a resolution. I would not recommend this place at all, and if you have to stay here then I would recommend you come prepared to clean the entire hotel room yourself. The front desk manager (George) will have excuses and be dismissive the entire time if you have any problems, and I was told the general manager wasn’t there when I asked (who I later found out is Josh just in case you need it). FYI, their “renovated hotel” is a joke, especially the bathrooms..

WARNING: The property is being remodeled, which is not mentioned during the booking process. Do not stay here until it is complete.We received a letter the day of check in stating we “may hear some construction noise”. That noise ended up being them working on the room right next door! They started earlier than 8am and it was nonstop. A far cry from “some construction noise”.On top of that, I would love to talk to the person in charge of quality control. These rooms are not ready for guests. The first room had a leaky shower and inoperable TV, so we were moved down the hall.The second room didn’t have toilet paper or an iron. On top of that, the outlets behind the bed didn’t work, so those lamps and charging outlets were inoperable.To make this stay even better, we wake up to find out that the water will be off everyday from 8am-12pm. We were not told about this when we checked in and it is not in the letter they emailed us prior to check in. What a lovely way to start the day.Long story short, this hotel should not be open to guests in its current state. I’m sure the rooms will be great after the remodel is complete, but to have this hotel open to guests in its current state is ridiculous.

I didnt stay her but my son who is a Marine Corps recruit is currently staying here. He is only allowed 1 phone call and I try to call and No one seems to work the front desk. I called for over an hour and No one answered the front desk phone or the 1 time she did answer I was placed on hold and she never came back to the phone. I was on hold for over 20 minutes. This is very unsatisfactory to me. How can I speak to my son if the person working the desk dont answer the phone??? Maybe the Marine Corps should choose a new hotel for its recruits to stay in!

Great quality accomodations but piss poor service. Location was FANTASTIC, near so many great places to go so if you want good location come stay here but if you want good service dont come. To start on a good note the beds were so soft and the towels and bedding were so clean and fresh. Great quality bath products in the restroom. Loved the free creams, cups and coffee making products in the lobby snack area. The first day we arrived, we requested a coffee maker and a hair dryer twice and they never brought them. They didnt bring the coffee maker till day two of be our stay and that day we had asked two more times. They didnt bring the hair dryer till day three of our stay, neglecting us again each time we asked. When we asked for ice we would have to ask twice or else they wouldnt come. They charged my sister for parking even though she didnt bring a car. They never came when we requested house keeping to clean our room. They brought ice to the wrong room one of the times we asked for it. If you plan on gaming bring your own monitor because their TVs are so complicated to switch the HDMI input and you wont get help with it even if you ask management. The whole five days we spent there they never refilled the hot chocolate in the machine even after we told them about it in the beginning. Like I said the location was great it was close to the beach, mall and other great places to visit and the quality of the accomodations was awesome. Although the services requested were very lacking not to mention how much they nickel and dime you.

My family and I needed a nice place to stay for the night, and the Courtyard delivered. The front desk had me checked in within a couple minutes — literally 2 minutes! The room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. They even had awesome shampoo and conditioner, not the cheap little bottles. We had coffee and breakfast in the morning at the breakfast buffet and were well taken care of by Mike. Check out was faster than check in and we were in our way. A perfect hotel stay for us!

My stay was wonderful at the Courtyard San Diego Mission Valley. I was on business travel for 2 days. The location was easy to commute from. The grounds, both interior and exterior, were exceptional. My only complaint is that I had poor service at the bar area for food, the night of my arrival. It took 15 minutes before I saw anyone at the bar, and I never received my food. The order wasnt communicated to the cooks. Other than the foodservice, this was an extremely enjoyable stay. I would recommend this hotel.

Worst hotel I have been in a while. The hallway (and even in the room) there was a smell of marijuana. The was a tray outside our room when we checked in. I asked the front desk if there was someone in our room in the morning (concerned about covid), he said no, but not convincing. The tray was picked up after more than 24hrs. Parking I believe was free, not bad. The hotel was pretty empty in the weekend.

I would like to acknowledge the great staff that works at this hotel. If it was not for them, I would stay at another property. I would like to acknowledge Nell for her enthusiasm and great work ethic. The bartenders Tawni and Trisha are always friendly and know how to make a great cocktail. The front desk staff are the best. In town for my daughters hockey game. Reading the reviews having already booked made me nervous. However, my experience was great. Staff was very friendly, professional and provided excellent customer service. Our room was clean, cozy and made our stay very comfortable. Bistro was great, we ordered dinner then grabbed breakfast the next day. Dinner was great, promptly delivered to our room but the morning experience was much slower. Because of the great customer service we experienced, I honestly didn’t mind the longer than average wait for breakfast. I would definitely stay again and without a doubt recommend.

The rooms are spacious and the bed is so comfortable. Reception greeted me very warmly and the hotel was very clean. The elevator looked interesting, but it operated well and I never had to wait long. The fitness center had just what I needed after a long flight (foam roller) and sufficient equipment for me to get in some exercise. The hotel is not far from attractions, but the streets near the hotel arent the best for walking around.

I would definitely recommend this hotel! its convenient to the airport, downtown San Diego, the beaches and suburbs. Great hospitality at check-in, modern decor and clean room! The hotel was in good condition and the gated parking worked well with use of room key (~$25/night). The Starbucks lattes and muffins were yummy each morning! And was able to enjoy a glass of wine in the evening before dinner events. 2 thumbs up!
