Anyone would be LUCKY to go for a ride with Chuy & his amazing working horses. I know this was a ride of a lifetime. The scenery was amazing, horses are so well trained and enriched, I’m so glad I didn’t have to share my ride with a group of strangers and children, you can’t beat the price. I will be returning every chance I get.

I called on a Thursday morning and got a same day appointment. The owner is the sweetest man ever - he pushed some things around to get me in. I hadn’t ridden in a while and my horse was a little stubborn as well so the beginning was rocky but the owner Chuy was super patient. He goes at your comfort level.It’s a 3 hour ride if you’re not an experienced rider who can go at a cantor or gallop. The views were beautiful - you can see the border to Tijuana, and the beach, omg - I cried running the horse on the beach. One of the most memorable experiences in my life. Definitely recommended if you’re in San Diego

This was our second time here and we always call Chuy when back in San Diego and looking to book horseback riding. The first time we did a private ride for just my husband and I on the beach. We had a blast. This time we returned with our two kids (teenagers) and again, had a blast! Very accommodating to all levels. Very friendly. Easy to book. The horses are well taken care of. Cant beat the price!!

This was the ride of my dreams. An hour through beautiful bamboo forest, an hour on the beach, an hour back through the beautiful forest. Chewy Blanco, the owner and trail boss, gives an informative and customized ride. He lets you ride at whatever speed you want, gives helpful tips for better riding, and answered all of my many questions about the area, the horses, and the plants. He is very patient and kind. He also takes pictures. Blanco Brothers Ranch is my new favorite place.

Highly recommend it! Best place in San Diego to go for a ride and the only one where they let you gallop with the horses.The owner, Chewy is the best host. He lended me boots and socks since I didn’t have my own. He gave me water bottles and asked multiple times during the ride whether I was okay and comfortable. Horses are well trained and cared for, they’re all in good condition. Trust me..this is the stable you want to go to. We came down from Colorado on vacation and really wanted to take a trail ride along the beach and be able to trot, lope, and gallop as we wanted. From my research in the san Diego area, there are not many stables that let you go through all the gaits on beach trail rides. We were able to do everything from trotting the trails to full out galloping the beaches with Blanco Brothers Ranch. Chewy was a great guide. Unlike most trail guides, he has trained all of the horses so he knows exactly how each horse moves and acts. He will match you up with a horse that matches your skill level whether you want to keep it at a calm walk the whole way or fly down the beach at full gallop. The horses are very well trained and fun to ride. The price is unbeatable as well. You’re not going to find a better place to go. I read all of the previous reviews on this stable before we went and they were spot on. I highly recommend this for anyone from a beginner rider to an experienced rider.

I highly recommend Blanco Brothers. My friend and I are experienced riders and Chewy allows you to ride! We trotted and cantered on the beach. It was so much fun. Chewy was very nice and his horses are very well behaved and comfortable to ride! Great experience!

My friend and I decided we wanted to go horseback riding on the beach during our visit to San Diego, so we Google searched for the best rates and reviews and averaged the two together to end up with Blanco Brothers Ranch. We called the day before making our arrangements and left a voicemail, chewy called us back within an hour to set up our ride for the next day. Both my friend and I have ridden before and were set up with appropriate horses. Chewy gave us easy to follow instructions throughout our ride and we were able to gallop and go at our own pace through wide sections of the trail. The beach was amazing! It was so much better than we had even imagined and we were grateful for this experience. Chewy was very informative with any questions we had and we felt very comfortable on our ride. If you are looking for a trail ride where you dont want to be in a line nose-to-tail (you know what Im talking about) then this is the group to go with. Chewy also sets up rides via appointment so we had a private ride. He took pictures for us too which will make great memorabilia to hold on to from our trip. This place is great! We went with a group of six girls who all had different levels of experience. Chuy was absolutely wonderful and made sure everyone was provided with the right horse and was very kind and patient. He also let you trot and gallop which was so much fun! I would highly recommend!

10/10 highly recommend!! This was the most relaxed ride with the best horses weve ever been on. Chuys horses are extremely well trained and very sensitive to rider inputs. If you feel comfortable hell let you run the horses and they loved to run in the water on the beach. He gave us both tips and was very reassuring. I found Blanco Brothers Ranch when I was searching for a trail ride by the beach while visiting my brother in California.Chewy and his horses made this so much more than just another trail ride. I have my own horse back In Dallas tx and I wish I had someone like Chewy there to train my horse into as good of shape as his are.The ride itself was wonderful youre allowed to go at your own pace with whatever your comfortable with whether that is a walk or a full out run. The first part of the ride is through some nice Forrest and plains with some straight aways where you can really pick up some speed and then out to the beach where you can splash in the oncoming waves. On the way back its just a nice relaxing walk where you can find great stories and company with Chewy or just reminisce on the awesome ride.Running a horse on the beach has always been a bucket list item for me and this accomplished that and more. I will definitely be back whenever I find myself in the San Diego area.

Went riding with 4 family members. It was amazing: Chuy and his wife are super friendly and easy going. They also catered to a grp of very different levels of experience, allowing those of us that are advanced to run freely ahead and supporting the less advanced riders to trot and canter is a safe, controlled way. Riding on the beach was breath taking. All of the horses were terrific. Hard to find places that lead rides like this.

My husband & I went a few days ago & had a blast! Highly recommend!Heres what you need to know:1) The website isnt the most interactive. Call to book! They spend their time with the horses instead of online (which is a good thing!)2) Its appt only so you only go with the people in your group. You wont have strangers with you which is really nice! They also only do one ride per day so the horses are happy & excited to go on their rides.3) You get to ride to your ability. We galloped up and down the beach! Its good exercise for the horses (& you! If you dont ride often expect to be sore!). Its almost impossible to find a place that lets you go faster than a walk so this is a huge win!Overall, Chuey is great! The scenery is awesome! The horses are well cared for! Bring your phone for photos & get ready to ride along a beautiful beach that reminded me of something in a movie.10/10 for sure. Book it!

Chuy is probably the nicest owner Ive met in the trails business. His horses were well trained (Mexican?) Quarter Horses. The ride to the beach wasnt very long, and Chuy was more than happy to let me gallop on the beach until I got tired. I need to say it again, this man is a saint, and I would be honoured to have another ride with him sometime soon. His barn is currently all Id look forward to in my ride from southern Arizona when I felt I needed a bit of time on the beach. Highly recommended!

Blanco Brothers Ranch is a boarding and training facility that also does the occasional private beach ride. This review is for individuals looking to do the private beach trail ride.Blanco Brothers Beach Ride is ideal for riders of all levels. I say this because the horses here are not your typical only trail horses that are dead on the bit and dead on the sides. The horses that the owner, Chewy, has trained are calm enough for beginner riders, and respond magnificently to riders who would like to do more than just walk and occassionally trot. They are beautiful, athletic with excellent temperaments on the ground and under saddle.Our experience was the highlight of our trip in San Diego. We booked our ride for 8:30am on a Saturday. Chewy was very accommodating and flexible when we had to modify our time. As the more experienced rider between my husband and I, I rode Cash (an 11 year old barrel racing chestnut gelding quarter horse - he was fantastic, full of go and a blast to ride!) and my husband rode Cheyenne (a 12 year old paint mare who was calm and listened well as he was more of a beginner). On our way to the beach we went through the Tijuana River Valley and the trail was beautiful. As we were nearing the beach, the trail opened up and I was able to do an easy lope through some of the stretches. When we got to the beach, we brought the horses to the water and they splashed and trotted. The waves crashing, the wind blowing and the view took my breath away. We walked all the way down to the Mexican border, and were able to canter our horses up and down the stretch of beach. You could tell that they loved being there and ready to work.We walked the horses back to the stables and ended our trip thanking our horses with pets and carrots. Horses were very grateful and loved the treats.

My wife and I took our daughters to celebrate their graduation. They had never ridden before and Chuy our guide, did an excellent job taking the time to show them. We all loved the experience and Chuy was an amazing tour guide with his patience, knowledge and photography taking. We will definitely go back and we also highly recommend Blanco Brothers Horseback Riding for a fun day.

Great beach ride with Chuy at Blanco Brothers Ranch. As others have said, this is not your normal nose-to-butt trail ride. If youre an experience rider, this is the place for you. But, even if youre not, Im confident youll get a better experience with Chuy than with others. Note, if you dont get a response from the website, CALL. Chuy will answer and work around your schedule and expectations.

Today my girlfriend Phyllis took me riding as a birtrday present, out of Blanco Bros Ranch and we had the absolutely best time!!!! They have a great layout there and the owner, Chewy, personally guided us through the trails from the ranch to the beach and back! It was a beatiful day, the horses were great, Chewy was very entertaining and knowledgable and gave good instructions on handling the horses! His horses are not the average stable horses, they were willing to do what asked of them. Not like some places u ride and all the horses will do is what the guide makes them do and others only want to go back to their ranch. The trails to the beach were peaceful and beautiful and we saw other riders along the trip. On the beach we ran the horses along the ocean shoreline. It was a fantastic time!!!! The best place to ride in the entire valley! Don Chuy is the friendliest man, he makes sure you know how to be on horseback. Compared to other tours this gives you more freedom. The road was beautiful. I recommend it a hundred, for anyone who is visiting the valley.

Highly Recommended!!! I had never ridden a horse before and it wasnt a problem with Chewys horses at all. My girlfriend has been riding for years and has often been able to gallop in front of the horse. On the beach she could really accelerate with her horse. She was absolutely thrilled and said that the horses broke in really well. This program for advanced riders apparently offers few to none in the area. Most tourists only walk at the crotch. The tour lasted about 3 hours and cost 100USD per person.Its best to call and make an appointment.
