Daves a good dude. I live in Las Vegas, and got quoted $5,000 for my micropigmentation at a local place. (For those who arent sure what that is- Basically, its a level 1 layer tattoo on your scalp to emulate the illusion of hair) Additionally, the place I went to wanted $1,000 for touch-ups for every 6-8 years post-treatment.So I searched on reddit to see if theres a clinic anywhere that had better pricing, and Daves Scalp Symmetry came up. He trained under HIS hair clinic in the UK which is the origination of micropigmentation. The place I went to in Vegas also claimed that they trained under HIS hair clinic (thats why I realized the significance of finding an artist from there). After speaking to Dave, I found out one of the owners of the money grabbing place I went to in Vegas was actually a client of Daves.Anyhow, with my 3 round-trip plane tickets to San Diego, food, and travel expenses; I still saved over $1,000. On top of this, Dave gives clients the option to have 2 touch-up sessions after the 3 sessions for free with a lifetime guarantee (at least at the time of this writing). You can tell Dave really does this because he is passionate about his work and cares about his clients. He answers his own calls, schedules his own appointments, and does his own marketing. Those overheard savings pass on directly to you. His office, which looks like a high-end executive office, was installed and painted by him in a project that took a few months. We had a lot of time to talk while he was working on my head, and I got to learn more lot about Dave and his business. Daves also super down to earth and not afraid to give you dating advice and his own experience of going through male-pattern baldness. I rarely ever leave reviews, but this place deserves a 10 star our of 5 if it could get it.

I came to David after being on consultations with cosmetic offices that also advertised micro Pigmantation. I found his reviews online and know through my own medical experiences that you want the person that has the most experience with the best outcomes. David’s results speak for themselves. I was not concerned about cost, I just wanted the best outcome. The cosmetic folks were 2-3 times his cost and all had minimal experience compared to David. When I decided I wanted SMP, I came across scalp symmetry in my searches since I live in San Diego. The site pictures of results looked great, so I had very high expectations. I’m 40 with no visible tattoos, I’ve been shaving my head for a decade and I only wanted something that looks natural. My expectations were exceeded. I had hair replacement surgery several years back at Bosley. The type where they remove a strip of your scalp and transplant those follicles into the thinning areas. After the first attempt the coverage wasn’t what I had hoped for, so I had a second procedure done. It still left me wanting more! Of all the decisions Ive made with regards to my hair, Scalp Symmetry was by far the best one.Ive gone through many hair restoration products, like shampoos, laser treatments, supplements, and even went through FUE last year, and nothing yielded better results than SMP.My primary concern had always been the colors mismatch on my scalp, due to lack of density on the front, mid and crown areas of my scalp, but the fact that Id have to wear my hair very short, never bothered me, as long as all areas looked the same.In my case, the treatment took 3 sessions to provide very realistically looking results. I then decided to go through a couple more sessions to slightly adjust some areas that I thought would look better adjusted... and thats another great thing about SMP - its flexible, you can have things adjusted any time.The clinic itself is kept very clean, well decorated and soothing, it was always pleasant to walk into.All the information is provided to you up-front, to encompass the treatment and post-treatment details.Dave is extremely professional, communicative and friendly, and makes sure you feel comfortable throughout the whole process, and is always just an email, text or phone-call away to answer any additional questions you might have.My overall experience of working with Dave at Scalp Symmetry, was very positive, and I would definitely visit there again myself, and highly recommend it to others.

I cant recommend this place highly enough.First, this is not an amateur fly by night operation where some tattoo artist thought he could make some money on the side. This is a completely professional shop with an extremely experienced and detail oriented artist. I would say the clinic operates more like an outpatient medical office than a tattoo shop. I was able to customize my hairline and at no point did I feel that I wasnt the total focus of what he was doing. In fact, in my last session I was so happy and surprised with the results that I actually asked him to lower my hairline even more - initially I went for a windows peak look thinking it wouyld look more natural - but in fact the blending is so thorough that I cannot even tell on my own head where the tattoo begins and my natural hairline ends. My confidence has gone way up and I think it reflects in other aspects of my life. I wish I had done this sooner.I will try to detail the things I was most concerned with.1. Does it look natural?This was my biggest concern, having seen so many botched jobs. The color and blending are so natural, I honestly could not draw with a marker where my former hairline was. As long as you regularly shave your head - I do so about every 2-3 days - there is no way anyone who didnt already know you used to not have hair would know. In fact, alot of people dont believe me when I tell them it is a tattoo.2. Does it hurt?I have about 70 hours of tattoos on my body so I can say pretty confidently that I have a high pain tolerance however this is in no way the same as a regular tattoo. First, it is done in small bursts and there is no linework or shading like a regular tattoo. I sat for about 4 hours at my longest session with a 5 minute break about half way through and it was easy. Im not going to say it isnt uncomfortable but you are in a modified massage chair and theres music playing. I think I fell asleep at one point.3. Is the shop clean/sterile?100% yes. All of the gear is right in front of you. He opens it while you are there. The shop is extremely clean. The ink is matched to your color while you sit in the office. I would compare it to any doctors office or clinic more than a tattoo shop.4. Is the transformation subtle?The first session puts a light shade and basically outlines what you will look like as it darkens. A few people noticed something different about me but noone really put their finger on it. The later sessions it becomes more apparent but the only people that really noticed without me saying anything were my bald friends because they were probably already checking out my hairline.5. Is the aftercare difficult?The aftercare is essentially keep your head clean and dont sweat too much - ie dont go for a run the same day. There are no topical creams or anything like that. My scalp was sensitive and a litle red for about 24 hours - think a light sunburn.6. Is it expensive?This shop is about average to below average - I found a few more expensive and some at the same price. I was able to split the payment over 3 sessions with the deposit rolled into the total cost. I didnt need to work out any other kinds of plans so I dont know if they are available but I have a feeling Dave would be able to work with you. Ultimately, it is worth it as a long term investment and confidence booster.

Literally everything about the experience from the initial text message engagement/in-person consultation has left me with no doubt I received the best service out there. I got a second consultation from a larger company in the area (Vinci Hair Clinic) and within the first minute knew I was going with Scalp Symmetry. During your consultation Dave will ask intelligent questions and take notes, answer any questions or concerns you may have with confidence. He wont try to force anything and doesnt have to because his entire operation is 100% legitimate. Hell take his time, and put in the time to do things right. Scalp Symmetry is privately owned and operated by one person (Dave) who has many years of experience with SMP and is a true professional who has had the procedure himself- the fact that he knows first-hand what its like to go thru this should be one of the key points you consider. His office is very private (youll be the only person in the office at any given time and probably wont even see anyone else when going in and out of the building), very well set up and extremely sanitary. It may not be easy to decide to move forward with this due to thoughts that youll regret it for one reason or another (personally, I had a huge concern that it would look unnatural and Ill be ruined for life), but this will not be the case with Dave. Perhaps you will even feel insecure about having the procedure done. The website looked professional enough for me to make an appointment and to actually go and see the place and its operator in person.Keep in mind Im very demanding and critical person when it comes to purchasing a service.I have walked into perfectly designed modern space/office, and yet soothing, clean and sanitary, which observant person will much appreciate.This great first impression has been topped by Daves professional and friendly greeting and introduction.Have to say, as an observant and critical person I still couldnt find anything that would be even slightly bellow my high standards. Daves appearance and warm attitude was perfect as well.That said, the overall first time impression of both the shop and the operator was flawless.Price and procedure.When Ive found out that Dave actually takes time with his work and splits the entire project into 3 sessions with 2 touch up visits if needed, Ive been sold immediately. Compare to other providers where they offer one or max two long sessions and you done.This process requires gradual slow changes, so you can get used to the new look that you are approaching. Shaved head takes some getting used to, at least in my case, since I was covering my head constantly for 5 years with caps and hats. So this gradual change has been very important to me.
