Their intentions may be good, but they do not follow direction AT ALL!I realize you need to be careful and lower your expectations when trying to work with glass on a custom order...but we took a very special bottle from a very sentimental event in to this shop for a custom cut...although we were hoping for the best to make something memorable, we knew up front the bottle may not make it. In which case we had a back up plan...SAVE THE LABEL! We specified on the phone and at the shop DO NOT CUT THE LABEL! We thought if the bottle breaks so be it, we can still do something cool with the label...guess what happened (because they cant follow direction)???? THEY CUT THE LABEL. I would not trust them with anything important. Be careful. And then to add insult to injury, they offered to refund our money but they wanted the bottle back...the bottle that they DID NOT OWN! There are other places in San Diego that do the same work, try others first! And because I posted the above review on Yelp...I had to go back and edit that review with the below.Heres an interesting turn of events! And why I am back to edit my review. I just received a voicemail from Steve the owner threatening me to take my review down within the hour or else he will sue me for slander. hahaI called Steve back open to explaining the issue that I had with his business where he proceeded to scream at me on the phone, call me names, and never once took responsibility for the error in which this entire review was based on. Customer service is top notch here.Sorry Steve, you are not going to bully me with threats to keep me from voicing my opinion.
I went to the grand opening of this location and felt very welcome despite not knowing what to expect from such a place. The grand opening offered free drinks and snacks so that customers could look around and get acquainted with the store. Basically this store repurposes wood for certain things like cutting boards, candle holders, and the like. The store was mostly dominated by liquor bottles and beer bottles that had either been chopped or melted to provide another purpose. The melted liquor and beer bottles are commonly used as ashtrays or cool centerpieces and the chopped bottles range anywhere from jars, to makeshift light covers, to vases. Pretty much anything you can think up with wood or glass bottles can be done here. They also give you a deal if you bring in your own special bottles or wood to be repurposed. They also laser-cut items for businesses and personal as well. A very cool place to visit, especially if you have a particular small project in mind.
As I see it, the customer service is only superficial. This is a company whose production department is run like a sweat shop. Little or no concern for employees whatsoever. I do believe that doing any type of business with a no conscious company such as this would be ill advised. I for one believe nothing ca be gained by dealing with individuals who do not respect American Workers and their rights. Could it be that there are many labor and OSHA complaints pending against this establishment. Even 1 star is too much for this individual company
