Unfortunately, I hired DeWitt Movers to move my possessions from the mainland to Hawaii. I paid well over $20k and was promised all of my items would be packed and unpacked upon arrival. My furniture would be wrapped in padding. My furniture was wrapped in butcher paper with no padding subsequently half of my furniture was damaged by DeWitt. Regarding placing my items away, most of it was dumped on the floor or on beds (see photos). I personally opened 25 boxes. I also had to dispose of multiple boxes and the paper packing material (again this was what I paid DeWitt to do). Several boxes of my possessions turned up missing. I was promised a status update but I havent received anything in three weeks. I also had numerous pieces of china, glass wear and other kitchen items broken. I have moved several times and have never experienced damage furniture, missing possessions or the volume of broken items that DeWitt is responsible for causing. Finally, I was charged storage fees for the time my possessions were on a ship prior to arriving in Hawaii. Of course, Dewitt wouldnt deliver my possessions until I paid the made up storage fees. Sheila Watts promised to update me on the status of my issues but has refused to return my phone calls or emails. Stay away from DeWitt Movers.

Thank you, DeWitt, for handling my car with great care! I moved from San Diego, CA to Seattle, WA and my car was delivered within 48 hours in great condition. Bryn and Jeff on the DeWitt team were both a pleasure to work with and provided great customer service.

Our move with Dewitt from Texas to Hawaii has been nothing but frustrating and complicated. It’s always something. We shipped both our household goods and our vehicle. During our vehicle shipping process the truck driver didn’t even KNOW where he was dropping our truck off at. WE had to continuously get in touch with Dewitt and have them talk to the person driving our vehicle to California! He had no idea which port to drop it off at and they took their sweet time with giving him those updates. Now we are still waiting for our household goods after over a month. They have told us two different dates of shipment, two different ports, and they didn’t even remember what type of service we paid for (door to door vs. warehouse to warehouse). No one there communicates I guess. They (Sheila Watts, for one) have not been accommodating whatsoever and I have been nothing but patient and kind, but after my experience I feel regret for choosing this company to handle my goods.

Delays delays delays with a subsidiary of Dewitt: Royal Hawaiian Movers. They were the TSP for my military move. I’m working with my local TMO to get issues resolved. Just expect delays.

We moved to Hawaii during the height of the global Covid-19 pandemic. There were a lot of moving parts between shipping our belongings and two cars-in addition to 3 canceled flights and 14 day mandatory quarantine once we arrived to Hawaii. Dewitt was very communicative with us during the process. When we found out our first flight was cancelled and we would not be able to fly for at least another 3 weeks, they held our shipment for us and kept us updated on when things would arrive so we could plan accordingly. Our things arrived safely and I am thankful for the amazing service we had during these crazy times.

Dewitt moved my belongings from California to Hawaii and other then the time it takes for things to get here, which I dont think they have a lot of control of, things went great! I got emails along the way and the day they arrived the guys couldnt have been more courteous and helpful and did a great job. I would recommend them!!

I hired Dewitt to move my belongings from the mainland US to Hawaii. I do not recommend Dewitt, as my treatment was terrible.Dewitt arrived at my apartment complex to package and move my belongings. As they packed, they were taking items outside, I assumed they were taking them and packing them on the truck. I was busy with some work at the time and was unaware that they werent taking the boxes directly to the truck, but rather leaving them outside in the public hallway unattended!Several minutes later, the movers informed me that a box had been stolen from the hallway. This box contained a very valuable item (the name of which, for some absurd reason, was written on the outside of the box). Why they were leaving labeled items in a public space unattended is beyond my comprehension... Of course the movers themselves were very apologetic and sincere. The real trouble began when I got in touch with Jeff Nadeau, Alejandra Zapata and the rest of the Dewitt team about the incident. Despite the movers admitting that they were at fault for the stolen item and a full police report documenting the theft, Jeff refused to accept responsibility. His interactions with me were unprofessional and did not make me feel comfortable that my belongings were in good hands. In an event like this I would expect the moving company to go to bat for the customer, but Dewitt doesnt operate like that. I highly recommend using another forwarder.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY IF YOU VALUE YOUR BELONGINGS!!!! During my military move, I had my valuables destroyed AND stolen. I have been waiting nearly FIVE MONTHS for quotes from this company and continuously ive basically been ignored. I am now having to resort to legal actions.

Make sure the person they send to survey your place takes time to accurately survey your apartment and needs. My survey was around 700 lbs. over estimated. I budgeted only for a certain amount of money to spend and so things that I planned to send I didnt send because my estimate was so high. My actual weight was under 1000 lbs. of the estimate I was given. Very disappointed and it will cost me money to purchase those items I left off the move in my new area.

Recently I moved from Los Angeles to Hawaii and used DeWitts services for the complete move--pick up at my home in LA and deliver to my home in Hilo. I packed everything in my home except for the furniture. Everything I packed myself reached here safety and without any damage. I only had nine pieces of furniture to move and three of those arrived badly damaged. I now know I should have packed my furniture myself to protect it properly. But mistakenly I assumed DeWitt was the professional mover and knew how to pack furniture so that it would arrive to the destination without damage. I cannot recommend this company.

I was told by DeWitt that once my household goods get picked up that it would be 2 to 3 days I would get the invoice and depending on when I make my payment is when my goods be shipped. Well my household goods got picked up on September 18th, didnt get a call until the September 25th, I paid on the 26th, mind you they didnt call me I had to call them, couldnt get information when my stuff would be shipped. Finally they returned my call only to find out my stuff wouldnt get shipped out until October 8th. We moved to oahu and planned the shipment according to how long we would have to wait for our shipment. I was told about 3 weeks which our stuff would be here by the week of October 8th . Yeah it took them 3 weeks to finally get our stuff shipped, actually I really dont know if stuff did get shipped on October 8th.

I am having an awful experience with Dewitt Companies and their moving my car to Hawaii. Serious damage, over $4000, and they refuse to pay for damages despite their acknowledgment and acceptance of problem upon arrival. Now 4 months later and i am STILL trying to get compensated. EVERY reply email starts with Sorry for my delay in getting back to you…Do not use DeWitt Companies for your relocation needs
